With that laptop? I wouldn't be at all surprised if you could hit 150-200 fairly easily. Just go into NVIDIA Control Panel and add the launcher, Java, and Minecraft to your list of programs to use the high-performance card with.

That's because you posted in the wrong section. There's another one for Technic, specifically. As to your specific error, I believe you need a new version of IC2, probably 1.95b. If that doesn't work, back your stuff up and reinstall.

Be absolutely certain you are using 64-bit Java, for both the server and client processes. Then dedicate maybe 4GB of your 16 to the server, and 2GB (or more, if you're using a texture pack) to the client. Don't go overboard. Then do a reinstall.

Yes - either leave that as the only installed Java, or run the launcher .jar with a batch file that directs it to the correct version.

Is your server running in offline mode for whatever reason?

6 of one, half a dozen of the other...you still have the avatar to match. Not a chance, in the near future. Besides, I'm not the one to make that call.

Did someone use /reload on the server? Don't do that.

Who made the pipes? That'd be the owner, and the only one who can change frequencies, I think.

Check for interference from your antivirus. You may need to disable/uninstall it or chain it to the dungeon floor.

Did you try to log into a Tekkit server with a normal client for some reason?

Are you near the spawn and don't have OP?

Update to Java 7, and either uninstall or disable your antivirus. One of those two is likely to be your culprit. Oh, and next time read the stickies first.

There are 2 high-probability items: 1) You're running the server on Java 6. For whatever reason it doesn't like that. Less likely. 2) An AV or firewall is blocking the connection/launcher/whatever for some reason. There are 2 very low-probability item (these are mostly for humor's sake): 1) The free version of Hamachi is limited to 5 users. If you add a 6th user to the network, it locks the whole thing until you either upgrade or remove one of them. 2) 3) Your internet/network is somehow damaged, only for Tekkit.

Get rid of 6, and either restart or redo your system path variable.

I'd suggest that some mod items are disabled by config files or disallowed by plugins, but if no mod items are working, someone used /reload, pretty much guaranteed.

Tin and copper are in 3 different mods, 2 of which are currently in Technic and Tekkit: RedPower, IndustrialCraft² and Forestry. Forestry obviously isn't in. RedPower has a config wherein its tin and copper are normally disabled. I'd do that if you're finding them, and while you'll still see them in chunks already explored, new ones shouldn't have them. In theory.

Change your settings to actually use your video card. Laptops with default settings will often use the integrated graphics chipset for Java.

Don't just disable AVG - remove it. It's a blight on your computer.

MSE, Avast!, and even Avira are all better options.
