Server doesn't have a Internet connection on the multiplayer screen
Torezu replied to KIA0701's topic in Tekkit Discussion
This probably belongs in the Tracker, but please at least provide the requested information, and whatever else you can find. Your simple description of the problem is not enough to work with. -
This belongs in the Tracker, with all the information to go with it.

How to disable creeper block damage/explosions?
Torezu replied to Skulluxies's topic in Server Op Swap Shop
Translation: Please do all my work for me. Yeah, you might want to just be less lazy. -
This is a Tracker issue. Please post it there.

I would take a look at your drivers, how much RAM you have set for the launcher (as memory can affect rendering a bit as well), and whether you have OptiFine installed (and what settings it's using, if so). Otherwise, nothing else besides an x-ray cheat mod will do something like that, that I'm aware of.
-
Graphical glitches like this are typically the result of a graphics card or processor that's straining to keep up, graphics card drivers that haven't been updated recently, or a bad interaction between mods, usually OptiFine and something else.
-
Your description of your problem is not helpful to anyone who could possibly help you figure out what's causing it. Please provide some more detail, screenshots, launcher logs, etc.

If you're going to also add Modular Powersuits, I'd go with TE...probably. Making TE4 the main tech mod means adding at least EnderIO, Buildcraft, or Mekanism (preferably EnderIO) for conduits and such, since they're not released yet by Team COFH (Thermal Dynamics). If you are not planning on adding MPS (and probably MPS Addons), I'd consider adding IC2 anyway, just for nano, quantum, and the nano saber/mining laser/other powered items. It's kind of all up to you, though.

Two more possible solutions, though I make no guarantees on their effectiveness: 1) If you're running the launcher from a shortcut, try running the launcher itself. Some things in your launcher log are odd - the -launcheronly and -movetarget modifiers. 2) Download and use the .jar version of the launcher instead of the .exe version.

Hi, I would like people to be able to play Tekkit also but I don't know why they won't put problems on the Tracker where they belong. In your case, you need Java 7 - period. If you can't get Java 7 working, attempting to play modded MC is pretty much a lost cause at this point.
-
You really need to be more specific about what's going on. I can't see your screen or read your mind. The following things should be happening: 1) The Hamachi GUI should be present on both computers (and the server, if it's a separate box). 2) There should be a network present, which all parties have joined. 3) You should be able to pass chat messages back and forth from all computers involved, just to verify that the network exists. 4) All players should be using the Hamachi IPv4 address of the server to attempt to join. The port number is probably unnecessary, but you can add that anyway: ":25565" (no quotes) at the end of the IP. Then you can start diagnosing the problem if all of the above are true.

We need a mod list. It's likely you're missing a core or dependency mod for one of the mods in your pack.
-
Okay, that knocks out wrong IP. So, we need symptoms. Does the server show up and joining result in an error, does the server not show up at all...? I run a server and use Hamachi to let 2-6 other people join (so yes, they're on more than one network, and it functions fine). Did you define the IP in the server config file, or leave it blank?
-
Stuff like this goes on the Tracker, with a lot more info on what happened (error messages, logs, whatever) so the problem can be accurately diagnosed.
-
Is he trying to join with the Hamachi IP of the server, or something else? That's kind of a necessity. If that doesn't work, there could be a firewall stopping the Hamachi connection (though that's rare, and usually server-side).
-
I would take it one more step, then, and delete your .minecraft and .technic folders and reinstall. Make backups of things you'd like to keep, ofc - save folders, maps, etc. I can't think of anything else that might be slowing only Minecraft.

Bizarro World :: An Attack of the B-Team Server
Torezu replied to Sir_Faps_A_Lot's topic in Attack of the B-Team Servers
I'm guessing the server's dead, judging by the last thread post. Regardless, I'm locking it. If the OP wants it unlocked to make the thread title meet the posting guidelines, he can contact a moderator. -
Run your launcher. Click launcher settings in the corner. Click the Java Settings tab. Click the drop down menu for memory. If the options stop at 1536 MB or 1.5 GB, or maybe only 1024 MB or 1 GB, you're using 32-bit Java. Install 64-bit Java from the link I gave earlier and reboot. Then check the launcher settings again.
-
Remove everything from your search bar. Then double-check your Java installation. If neither of those does anything, stick this on the Tracker.

Pings increase/connection speeds decrease on existing connections for ~4 reasons: - virus/malware behavior - ISP throttling (i.e. your connection is being slowed by your internet provider, usually for over-max-bandwidth use) - shared connection use (i.e. someone/something else is using the same connection - this can be in or out of your local network, but it usually at the interface point, such as a router) - traffic on the other end, for some of the same reasons Since it sounds like you have issues with any server, option 4 is gone. Hopefully you have scanned/checked recently (and do so regularly) for virii/malware, so option 1 is gone. It's likely, then, that your ISP has reduced your bandwidth (SpeedTest or similar will verify this), or something/someone else is leeching off of your connection, intentionally or otherwise. If I were to bet, it'd be on ISP throttling, given your difficulties with downloading and seeming lack of security software interference. You may wish to do a speed test, then figure out what your ISP's policy is on total bandwidth and speed restrictions.
-
It is quite possible for a router to firewall an entire connection. We need to know more to attempt to diagnose the issue. What changed between when it worked and stopped working? Does anything still work? Check your Java version, see how responses and properties differ between computers, etc.
-
Word of advice: running a server and a client off the same computer can put some strain on the hardware. I recommend at least 8GB of RAM on any computer you're trying that on. Hexxit in particular is kind of hard on the memory, since it's using an older version of MC without all the optimizations that the newer ones have. Thankfully, it's kind of a small pack, relatively speaking.

There's a server download here. You can get that, run it, and either use Hamachi/another VPN tool, or port forward so people can join. I suggest simply trying things and seeing what happens, then adjusting until stuff works.
