Running a server... without a batch file?
Dewfire replied to Prowler1000's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Just use the .jar file. Thats what I use on my hosted server. -
Dark Cables reset your network is what I understood, easier to simply use a Precision or Fuzzy Export bus and set it to work with a Redstone Signal and run a Rednet cable from it to a lever or something. What I did at least.

Why do you want it in Offline mode? The only way to control the players if you have them in offline mode is to directly have access to their computers, which I don't think is going to happen. Putting it in Online mode has all the security and permission checks on the Server Side instead of the client side so they cannot be manipulated.

I get a lot of server spam from Applied Energetics now. Also, got some from when a player was trying to use the Vibration Catalyst with no charge on it. Doesn't effect gameplay at all, just puts all this nasty spam in the Log and Server Console. 19.08 16:15:34 [server] SEVERE java.lang.NullPointerException 19.08 16:15:34 [server] SEVERE at net.minecraft.server.ThreadMinecraftServer.run(SourceFile:573) 19.08 16:15:34 [server] SEVERE at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.run(MinecraftServer.java:600) 19.08 16:15:34 [server] SEVERE at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.func_71217_p(MinecraftServer.java:716) 19.08 16:15:34 [server] SEVERE at net.minecraft.server.dedicated.DedicatedServer.func_71190_q(DedicatedServer.java:320) 19.08 16:15:34 [server] SEVERE at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.func_71190_q(MinecraftServer.java:820) 19.08 16:15:34 [server] SEVERE at net.minecraft.world.WorldServer.func_72939_s(WorldServer.java:803) 19.08 16:15:34 [server] SEVERE at net.minecraft.world.World.func_72939_s(World.java:2362) 19.08 16:15:34 [server] SEVERE at appeng.common.base.AppEngTile.func_70316_g(AppEngTile.java:540) 19.08 16:15:34 [server] SEVERE at appeng.me.tile.TileController.updateTileEntity(TileController.java:1255) 19.08 16:15:34 [server] SEVERE at appeng.me.NetworkedIMEI.getDataPacket(NetworkedIMEI.java:372) 19.08 16:15:34 [server] SEVERE at appeng.me.NetworkedIMEI.update(NetworkedIMEI.java:115) 19.08 16:15:34 [server] SEVERE at appeng.common.registries.entries.BasicTerminalHandler.hasPower(BasicTerminalHandler.java:41) 19.08 16:15:34 [server] SEVERE at appeng.common.base.AppEngMultiChargeable.use(AppEngMultiChargeable.java:252) 19.08 16:15:34 [server] SEVERE at appeng.tools.ElectricBaseImplementation.use(ElectricBaseImplementation.java:128)

I updated our server to 1.1.7 today CanVox, update went perfectly smooth. So far no issues except the guy that crafted his MAC with Heat Vents inside He just had to remove those and put CPUs in like he was supposed to.

Looks like you have too much water, the water is just around the sides of the reactor. Rough Side view for example, T = Turbines, W = Water, R is the reactor. TTTTTTTTTTTTT WWWWRWWWW

Looking for someone to teach me tekkit...
Dewfire replied to TekkitNewcomer's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Can you explain more what part confuses you? Is it where to start? What things do? etc? I've found the easiest way to learn Tekkit is to play with certain mods, or parts and then once you're comfortable with them move on to something else. -
He is aware of it, I think he is waiting for it to get more completed and stable? At least that was his last comment on it back in 1.0.6.
-
Bad Plow, bad! No IC2 here! hahaha I've thought about adding in Extra Bioms, but I'm guessing it wouldn't show in Mystcraft ages, and I'd have to remake the map...
-
All my parts were crafted in 1.0.6, I'm using the Cooling System, not the plates, I have it maxed out. I cool just fine. Maybe it's something with the heat plating? Have you guys tried removing it, and re adding it and tinkering it's dissipation? hmm, but then it wouldn't work anywhere though would it, well you'd think at least. Edit: Forked, if you shoot again, do you take Heat Damage? Maybe display issue only?
-
I've never seen this issue, odd.
-
Tagger, the fact you have all those other Mods installed sorta corrupts your testing. Thanks for posting issues though.
-
Don't think he is concerned about which mods NOT in the pack work with it, but what mods IN the pack work.

Yea I was greatly underwhelmed by the ore scanner. All it did do was suck my power down faster then any other device on the power suit. Ore Scanner the Ultimate End Game power sink?!

I haven't noticed any bleed on my battery setups. I have the end set of Energy Cells configured to only work on a redstone signal, so I can switch them off. When I do, I don't think I've noticed a significant bleed. Will check today and edit my post with what I found. I have a set up with 32 Energy Cells, stacks of 4 with 3 stacks per row just for the Fusion storage.

AE 12b, I think I'm in love with 1.1.7

Mrcav, that link is amazing. That must of taken days to build!

Tekkit server software crashes when booting up. Help!
Dewfire replied to ianfort's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Bouncycastle? that your host? -
Server with 1gb ram, 5-6 people, no lag, no errors.
-
When I launch the new tekkit, it freezes on Mojang Screen?
Dewfire replied to ICEWOLF7600's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Just FYI, Not Responding doesn't mean the program has crashed or stopped working. It simply means when Windows queries it for a status it doesn't respond because it's busy working. Just give it some time and it will come up. -
Also, make sure your conduit Arrows are pointed properly! They default to Input, you have to use a wrench on them when hooking to power our power outputs to change the direction.
-
Maybe something else is going on then? I know Chunkloading is the biggest part of it. But if his upload speed is that slow, then I can't image what his latency is too, which would cause a lot of the slow down.
-
If you aren't playing Tekkit on the same computer you are running the server on, I don't think you need that much RAM. I have a hosted server with 1gb of RAM and I have 6-7 people playing at the same time with not performance issues. Maybe they are doing something different in the background, I don't know, but I think the CPU is the key part of how many players can play at the same time as each player would have their own thread running in the CPU.
-
Your upload speed is VERY low to host a server. Walking around doesn't lag because how how the client handles that, but all block changes are run through the server first, so that's why you notice it there. Ideally you will want 1-2mb/sec upload per player and figure probably 1mb standard just for normal server chatter I would think.

No you can't, at least you couldn't in AE version in 1.0.6. I haven't tried again since. I placed a Precision Import Bus and set it to import Cobble, Dirt sand etc in stacks to keep those from filling the chest, and then placed a 2nd basic import on the chest. As far as I know you can place as many import bus's on a storage unit as it has sides. That's how I got around a chest filling up!
