I run 4 basic export busses behind a dark wire and an emitter so when my carrots reach a threshold of say 2 stacks in reserve it starts pumping one of each item per tick till it is back below the threshold.

Doesn't belong here, try bug reports, and the galacticraft mod site.

Personally I have like 6 planters to one harvester, planting carrots potatoes wheat spruce trees, and one harvester doing the 25x25 for my bio reactor farm, it produces more produce than the reactor and the planters can use, the more varieties you use the more efficiency you get from it.
-
also One generator will make fuel for IN EXCESS of 12 reactors at pretty heavy output, as others have mentioned trees and wheat work but have by products to manage. personally I think it is worth the investment to have upwards of 6 planters doing different crops and one massively upgraded harvester doing all the harvesting. having multiple kinds of seeds increases the value of each seed by a bunch. my reactors regular cycle has a min efficancy of like 900 with like 6 kinds of seeds/veggies where as base eff. is 80.

Trying to make a 3x3 door Using Rednet cable
TokiWartooth replied to TokiWartooth's topic in Tekkit Discussion
OK here we go. lots of stuff to go over. First two pictures showing closed and open. Here and Here. Underground the switch side has two circuits This is the close circuit Input from the PRC hooked up to a button is the green side Output to the PRC with the Tflipflops and passthroughs are on the right and coded to the specific part of the system they are affecting. Open circuit is similar with orange being the input color. So that runs into the second PRC which is then piped up to the ceiling. The white output goes to all the pistons that have to be powered to keep the door closed. Purple Operates the double piston yellow operates just the second piston of the double piston when the double is not extended and orange operates the piston that pulls in the extra block. The extra Redstone repeater you see at the bottom is so when the double piston extends and retracts the outer piston retracts first so you don't leave the piston hanging. -
Trying to make a 3x3 door Using Rednet cable
TokiWartooth replied to TokiWartooth's topic in Tekkit Discussion
KK, Will post picks and descriptions in the morning, the thing is the first PRC is just to decide which circuit to use (open or close) and cycle through, the second one contains the T-Flipflops for the two frequencies that remain on all the delays atm have to be done with redstone repeaters, which is tedious, but works, I can probably tighten the timing. I moved the circuit under my silo and hooked it up to the door, took some tweaks to get it right but it works, and only has one visible block of wire that is only visible when the door is open. the piston wiring had to be a bit jury rigged to get it right, some weird interaction with teh PRC's and the rednet were causing an extra activation of the double piston for a bit which oddly enough never showed up when toggling them manually with levers, and the rednet meter still showed that frequency empty. Soo yeah Ill post picks with descriptions tomorrow before noon most likely. -
Moon bases and Space stations are useless now because
TokiWartooth replied to Spoonman's topic in Tekkit Discussion
actually if you set up a large enough tree farm, with a single harvester you will almost always have some trees up and it takes time to harvest them all, it's not without problems but it does work pretty well. I'm sure also someone could come up with a computer craft program that will just harvest all the trees after 10 minutes, but the bigger issue is you will need multiple harvesters with offset harvesting patterns to make sure you always have trees up producing oxygen, that could get real expensive real fast depending on the size of the base/station. -

IVE DONE IT, I think, It's working on my test lights as the correct sequence and the correct order and switching between the open circuit and the close circuit It's a monstrosity and uses 4 PRC's to work, maybe only 2 once I do some tinkering If anyone is interested I may post Pics + description later. Edit: already removed 2 PRC's realized they were just pass throughs anyway. -
Noob help with automated furnace
TokiWartooth replied to livingdeadbeat's topic in Tekkit Discussion
You appear to be correct that setup does not appear to work right now, I couldn't get coal into the fuel slot of a vanilla furnace either. -
Question regarding generation of the world
TokiWartooth replied to e7tophat's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Also currently neither work with buildcraft pumps so you have to move them with buckets from the natural deposits, heard a fix is in the works for this but it does make it annoying to clear the stuff as of now. -
What I was arguing againt SemiPr0 was not adding more variety of power gen, but adding as some people were asking for INCREASED power gen, as in the ability to make more, I understand the problems of having to chunkload a bunch of farms ( for the record trees may be the easiest but they are by far the least efficient way to make bio fuel, if you are interested try a 25x25 farm that has a mixture of wheat carrots potatoes and melons/pumpkins I do still keep a 4x4 of spruce trees though), but I think that if we add more methods of power gen none of them need to exceed the efficiency of biofuel, at least until there is truly a greater need for power. jakalth: If you need help with a bio fuel setup PM me or make a new thread or something I'd be willing to walk you through it, and at least what I did until then is point of use steam engines, meaning put the engine directly on the machine that uses it fuel and water it by hand until you get some hoppers and an AQE to pump in water for you.

Block Blast Resistance - Common Building Blocks
TokiWartooth replied to SemiPr0's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Oh no I'm totally on board with that I think the blast resistance of at the very least obsidian brick, and preferably one other semi expensive yet mass producible building brick should have obsidian level blast protection, I just kinda take exception to the "I don't want to use it because its expensive, (and ugly)" tone, as I have never found obsidian that difficult to acquire, and think that if we have to work within the media then we should be honest about the situation. -
Block Blast Resistance - Common Building Blocks
TokiWartooth replied to SemiPr0's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Sorry what? obsidian is super cheap once you have a single quarry I get more than I can use or make a nether quarry if you really want a lot of it. Rather than make My whole base explosion proof I just made a bomb shelter, Ironically on the 3rd floor of my factory tower and just covered up the exterior with cosmetic stone. also lit the interior with fabric of reality so it stays dark. probably gonna move my ME drives into there at some point that way even if everything else is destroyed I still have my items. I suppose If you are finicky and prone to whimsy it would be a pain to have to keep redesigning it. but there are ways around it to make it easier, you could use a turtle to demolish a wall which could easily be automated and build flat surfaces with a filler. -
No ideas man but based on the item ID's somewhere between MFR and Nether ores so try checking the powercrystals mods configs for the block ID's. Yea looks like the are in MFR

As far as energy gen goes biofuel seems to be massively ahead of even magmatics, the way you can just stack the biofuel gens is astounding, even with just one reactor I'm running 12 generators 6 for my bases and 6 for quarries and tools(filler-powersuit recharchers), so I think our current power gen abilites greatly exceed our ability to use that power, So until there is some way to use more power I don't see the point of adding more powergen.
-
ummm you can do this. EE3 allows you to turn cobble into diamond, it just costs more than just energy, you have to actually farm stuff, kinda you can semi automate killing and collecting from mobs even so even minium shards can be farmed. The IE just simplyfies cobble gen, you can do that manually anyway, and if you use an IE to make obsidian...whats the point I have more obsidian from quarries than I could ever use.
-
I wouldn't mind a UU-matter analog, it was nice to be able to get to a level of power gen where you no longer had to quarry up materials. Are you sure you are mathing right, magmatics output 4mj/tick not 4000 mj is the unit of energy not just j it stands for minecraft joules not mega joules. try again.

Trying to make a 3x3 door Using Rednet cable
TokiWartooth replied to TokiWartooth's topic in Tekkit Discussion
In my limited experience with frames, they were not all they were cracked up to be imho, the doors were OK if the textures didn't pop and once you got the silly motors working right, but anything that moved that the player stands on was graphically horrible, I built a frame elevator for my castle and when you looked at it from the exterior it looked pretty smooth but riding in it was like being in a bouncing electric floor buffer. The quality of the ride was terrible, also it was terribly slow. I've seen videos of the airships and such but while they looked impressive they were kinda meh in motion. I am hopefull that we get the functionality of frames back someday but that someone does it in a slightly more elegant fashion. -
How do you make an Induction Furnace work with ME
TokiWartooth replied to jdk201's topic in Tekkit Discussion
actually there is a slightly more elegant solution if you want to make them on demand 1) set an export bus on one side set to always export the more common element of the recipe (ie- powdered obsidian) 2) set up an interface on the top set to the other color than the export bus. within this place the recipe of your choice without the common ingrediant(ie- 1 lead = 1 hardened glass) Voila, you can now craft it on demand and it won't waste any of the more expensive materials, it will however tie up one stack of the "common" ingredients. Personally have this arrangement for Hardened glass, and electrum as well as a Constant supply of invar so any ferrous ingots are smelt automatically(same setup with a basic export bus with the ferrous ingots.) EDIT: Re read your first statment, you only need 1 export bus and the interface, the interface acts as an on demand bus and controller. -
Is it just me or is the ore table a mess in 1.0.6?
TokiWartooth replied to SemiPr0's topic in Tekkit Discussion
I think a major difference is the lack of a way to turn the quartz dust into crystal, the dust is more useful in the early stages of the game, but begins to pile up a bit later. -
I generally use the DimDoors in my base leading to a Hub pocket dimension that has doors to important locations, nether base, farm, a couple NPC villages, stuff like that, speeds up long distance travel which is nice. Also after I lost my last world to a bugcrash error I sped up my tech level greatly by risking a dim dungeon at the start, ended up with 2 stacks of iron a bunch of dim doors items including a couple of the rift blades, which makes a good starter item, as well as a nice supply of bread, unfortunately did not find a diamond block room though, maybe thats for the best as I probobly didn't have the tools to deal with the traps. Oh and finding a shutter trap dim dungeon room is a godsend when starting out, more redstone and sticky pistons than you can handle.

TokiWartooth replied to SemiPr0's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Just curious, any idea as too the distribution of quartz, I seem to recall having mounds of it in tekkit lite, and then being basically starved of it in 1.06 until I had 2 quarries running. -
