  1. I just stick with the pulverizer. Its the only way to get platinum in the overworld, and its so..... shiny..... =o The induction smelter is really only useful to me for hardened glass and making electrum and invar more easily.
  2. Take a look at Deep Storage Units from MFR and Floodlights from Greg's Lighting. Same thing, only better. Why do we even need Factorization? Well, those new 'servos' from Direwolf's most recent video sure do look epic..... plus it allows for tripling of ore output. TE is only double. Besides, a little variety never hurt anybody!
  3. This guide also includes modification to Mojang's server software which is illegal to distribute.
  4. Ok. Routers were pretty cool, although all I ever used were barrels as well. I saw some pretty cool new stuff in Direwolf20's latest forgecraft video though.
  5. Perhaps the team could demote Tekkit Classic and Lite to platform packs? Just so they would still be readily available, while sending the message that they are no longer supported. They could even be in the launcher by default, but removable and with a URL to add them back in again. Speaking of Lite, does anyone know if there is any particular reason why Factorization is not in the new Tekkit?
  6. Would we ever update? I doubt it. Also, on an unrelated note, I hope Mojang doesn't pass up the opitunity for MC 1.8: The Adventure Update II Do you think Tekkit lite will be updated if release versions of the missing mods become available?
  7. Yup! Does that work with saplings though? I've been playing a normal map with my cousin. I still have the save file, though, so I may pick this back up again.
  8. I agree, there is nothing wrong with a sci-fi robotic hand that does everything. I do think there is room for an earlier game and more traditional electric tool, though. Presumably, an electric tool could be entered into the treecapacitor configs and function just like a normal axe, just with power instead of durability. The IC2 chainsaw was in Tekkit lite, anyway. Saw dust is a really good idea! I hope my mod will come through... I really can't say at this point, I haven't had the chance to start. =P It is true that there would be little need for a chainsaw thanks to treecapacitator and farms, but I would include it for completeness' sake. Of a higher priority would be several different types of drills, like a basic efficient one, a powerful fast one, an expensive fortune one, maybe even customization at some point. I'll have to be careful to not bite off more than I can chew, though- big plans and no modding experience.
  9. Things I will miss from IC2: Standardized, tiered, uniform armor. I love MPS but it's not really my ideal suit of armor. I can make it do more than I could possibly need to to, but it's just not the same. Power tools. (That isn't a sci-fi robotic hand.) I want my drill and chainsaw! That's my first mod, by the way- Energetic Infuser compatible power tools. I call it! =D Diverse power Gen. Nuclear, Geothermal, Solar, Water, Wind.... Some may be OP, and others may be practically useless, but you can't say you didn't have options! Things I will not miss from IC2: The OP part about that armor I like. Solar was so OP its not even funny. Automation is good, as good as a set and forget type of thing in most cases, but really? A magic box that makes way too much power for free? IRL those photovalic (misspelled, sorry.) cells are insanely inefficient. Maybe solar panels should generate 0.01 EU/t. How about panels that heat water into steam, or mirrors. Anything. The textures on IC2 are awful. When Tekkit lite came out and thermal expansion and then applied energistics came out I was.... amazed. Machines could look good? Machines can look good!
  10. Dude.... 5 posts in a row? Anyway, back on topic, why does FTB 1.5 have IC2 dev builds?
  11. O_o I'll stick with Tekkit, thanks.
  12. At this point there is no such thing as a decent server unless it is a private one because, for example, there are no mechanics preventing a total stranger from walking up to your ship and taking parts off of it. StarMade = greifer heaven. :P
  13. Does anybody have any idea why? I haven't found any answers anywhere! I want to be able to follow along with Direwolf20's season 6.
  14. I like the design. The thumbnail artwork looks good. Personally, I trust that it actually is removed and doesn't just say it is more if I remove it manually. I dunno, maybe I've been using Win XP too much.
  15. That launcher looks amazing though.... after technic showed them up they really went all out. One thing FTB has at least over Tekkit Main is more power gen options. Has anyone else noticed that nobody ever really seems to use anything from rail craft that has to do with rails? Steam power is really cool.
  16. This was back with Tekkit lite, which was nearly identical to Direwolf20's FTB pack. Essentially the same thing plus Railcraft, Forestry, and Thaumcraft.
  17. I count 4 pages of Hexxit in the server sub forum. Check there.
  18. Tried it. My mind is confirmed to be blown. The time-manipulation mechanics are incredible.
  19. Their relatives would go into comas as well, so nobody is hurt. A coma wouldn't be a mental hurt in this case, more like hibernation.
  20. Mind = Blown. I will be trying this later.
  21. Sounds good! If you want to go the whole 9 yards you could pipe the heated oil and water into a "heat exchanger" and get steam out, which would then be piped into a multiblock turbine.
  22. How would that work? I think it would be easier to just use water. Maybe something like Factorization's?
  23. Only by installing the mods manually.
  24. Maybe they could add the kind of solar panels that heat water into steam. That way additional infrastructure would be required and would therefore be less OP. Water -> [solar Array] -> Steam -> [Turbine]
