  1. Frankly, the most energy efficient source in the game I can find is using the MFR biofuel fab and generator. Magmatic is just a nightmare without some way to automate magma. remember that the more different types of biological ingredients you have in the biofuel creator, the more efficiently it creates biofuel. seeds and saplings power it. edit- protip: before you have an efficient blaze farm running, kill a single blaze to shapeshift to blaze form... you can more or less slaughter them with ease, because you can fly and be immune to fire damage. kill a bat to gain flight before you go into the nether. That should speed up your search for a fortress and blaze spawner enormously.
  2. ummm... set up a tree farm, and feed coal to the steam dynamo? I think the steam turbine is a compatibility piece for if you have something like railcraft installed.
  3. *Scratches head* It's either completely unique to your computer or you modded the screenshot just to screw with us. I cannot reproduce it for the life of me what java version are you using? do you have any weird java stuff installed? How much memory/how old is your comp?
  4. the way I'd fix it is tell the mod author to move it out of hard coding and into the config file... don't get me wrong, darwin is a fantastic start of a mod, but it's darned alpha
  5. wellm I was able to get them running together... at least after I dropped BoP (not sure why you need both it and natura, but it's your pack...)
  6. Dudes, inventory tweaks and minions interact BADLY. I have NEVER been able to get both of them running together without major crashes... I will give it a shot, but I have a bad feeling about this...
  7. in the launcher, next to 'attack of the b team' graphic on the left, there's a little cog. click on that, click on 'reset mod pack', and then click on 'play mod pack' after closing it. that will reset the pack to the newest approved version. hint: some problems can also be resolved by clicking on the cog on the top right, and changing 'memory' to '2gb'
  8. oh, believe me, i LOVE the interaction between carpenter's blocks and the chisel mod (microblocks too, but I haven't been using them much on the new world) This is what I was working on (in survival) as a proof-of-concept evil castle. It's not going to be finished (I am still working on making it 'evil enough' and will probably make the next one underground) but it shows some of the nicer interactions: Oh, just ignore the little extra utilities watering can in the toolbar...hehehe.
  9. reset? have you made any config changes or added any mods to the pack?
  10. those biomes are just rare in BoP you could always add the list of spawnable biomes? post it here so they can add it to the pack?
  11. call me weird, but I have been working on 'evil mastermind' packs for two years so far... since they generally feature minions I have had to bang out issues with it dozens of times. Thanks very much for some of the mods in this pack... they have enabled me to polish off the final flairs on my evil overlord server pack. Have you considered adding utility mobs? it's a lot lower profile than most mods of it's type, and can help give evil genius lairs those incredibly stupid wandering redshirts they desperately need to add to the dinosaurs, enderpets, and dragons defending the place. I won't suggest MCA...even though I use it to make 'daughters of the evil overlords' for heroes to seduce into helping them overthrow me
  12. sorry. to be honest I prefer immibis microblocks myself... less aggressive.
  13. check your ram configuration in the launcher (2 gig is pretty much perfect for a pack this size) and make sure if you are tight on ram that you don't have boatloads of stuff running in the background like steam, msword, firefox, norton, etc. this pack is not as hefty as some, but some of the mods eat a lot of memory. also, going into configuration for biomes o plenty and disabling it in default worlds will help a lot... BoP is a pretty good mod, but on older machines it's worldgen is a nightmare.
  14. umm...the modpack is built on a base of forge multipart, of which microblocks is a component. The only way to remove it is to 'rebuild' the pack from a standard forge base. Not particularly difficult, to be honest, but it won't be compatible with the standard modpack.
  15. just checked, no it does not cause block ID mismatches exactly (the mismatch is a ghost error caused by an override, no game effect) Good solution, AcesOyster. in the chisel.cfg file, change 'change pane rendering algorithm=true' from 'true' to 'false' However, doing so disables chisel's alternative panes. Of course, if they are not working right to begin with, I see no reason to worry about it. suggestion: use carpenter blocks for 'windows', apply chisel unique glass block to carpenter blocks, recess window with carpenter's hammer. Not quite as good as a true pane, but at least the blocks are recoverable, and recessed windows still look pretty good.
  16. I don't get the crashing. Are you using Java 7 or 6? I heard it may be related to a multithreading thing.
  17. ahh, that's actually what I was using, my bust.
  18. if you swap out the panes for chisel panes, they align well. nicer textures, too.
  19. I actually see the pack as the ultimate mad scientist pack... You may not agree with the tech tree (what there is of one) but Thematically, I am having the time of my minecraft life. for 'survival mode architects' this pack totally rocks. If sirsengir weren't...well... sirsengir, I would suggest putting forestry (tree and bee research) into the pack to give it a 'flora' research aspect as well. But as it is, for survival mode architects, this pack is nearly a dream come true. If you are a hack and slasher, you problably won't like it. I don't like sushi, but I don't go around telling sushi chefs that their sushi sucks. Get over yourself, play another pack, or go back to Tapestries.
  20. actually, if I could change anything in the pack, I would replace dragon mounts with animal bikes... no offense, but dragon mounts is insanely buggy. still, with the bamboo from tropicraft and tropicraft islands, carpenter's blocks, and some darwin, I have my very own island of doctor moreau/Jurrasic park/freak show going on... it's an EXTREMELY fun change after playing the same nano armor quest for four years end game goals are highly flexible, right now I am trying to learn how to shapeshift myself into an ender Dragon
  21. Factorization I could see, but railcraft doesn't really fit the 'theme' of the mod, evil mad scientist, very well. Sure it's steampunky and the lamps are totally appropos, but it interferes with SO much stuff.
  22. try crossbreeding them, it's mad fun. they crossbreed with wheat. right now I have a strain of pig that produces leather, ender pearls, and iron shovels.
  23. Hmm... maybe they could include the 'custom books' and 'starting inventory' mod, I could write up some basic startup stuff that coudl start in a player's inventory, Modern mods rarely are as simple as just looking through NEI anymore.
  24. Administrators: Please insert the following text into the as_minions_advanced.cfg please be aware that there can be NO whitespaces in the file. What this does is, it allows minions to identify all types of trees as 'trees' instead of ignoring some or treating them as mineable blocks. currently, there are several types of tree blocks that are referred to as 'logs' or 'trees' instead of the standard 'wood' designation for vanilla and most mod trees, this config file option allows the minions to treat them the same as any other tree. In addition, it also tells minions to treat 'stone replacers' as stone, instead of spending 25 minutes digging out an entire pocket of basalt, ash, or marble despite basalt and marble not being considered 'ores'. Surface replacers are NOT included on this list since, if you use strip mining at surface level, you generally have a very good reason for using them that way. These things can still be dug out with area mining, but will be treated like smoothstone, sand, dirt, and gravel... minions will dig THROUGH them, but while strip mining will not spend extra time digging out vanity blocks.
