I can totally relate to your tale about EE. I had no idea how shitty and OP that mod was until it was too late. I shut down my first Tekkit server because everyone left after I disabled EE. lulz. To any aspiring hosts: Disable EE to start with unless you run a creative server.

16 gigs? Octa core? lulz. Overkill much?

Make a machine that can replicate almost any item in the game without EE. Hint: it can be done.

I've been a Minecraft server owner for over 15 years now so I can do all the technical crap for you while you worry about the creativity of your server. More than half the money covers the hosting... Okay yes, it's been down for like 5 days now. I had to rent a VPS and move it out because of Comcast's stupid ass bandwidth limits. The server is now up for good with the old 20 player limit and the old IP, scandic.us:25573. :D

Okay so I've hit my bandwidth limit... The server will be down until tomorrow morning. Tomorrow I will upgrade the VPS that my other vanilla server is in and then move this server over to it. Sorry, guys.

...right XD I run a server with griefing allowed so I'm only worried about duping bugs and shit like that. You're right, turtles are horribad if you don't want grief... They can't break blocks in protected areas but they can still place blocks... aka nukes. XD

Dafuq? No it's not... o_O Turtle mining is a pain in the ass. Personally I mine with BC quarries until I get to the point where I can replicate any item with mass fabbies and scrapbox factories. I just use turtles to chop trees, do creative griefing and plant nukes. XD

RIIIIIGHT... They did that whole smp-in-ssp transition thing, didn't they? I totally forgot about that... I understand why it's taken so long now. I thought they were all going "life's too tough on me atm whine whine I can't program no mo" like a lot of cool programmers do when they lose their cool. (Challenje, you gonna get freak'd, bro.)

If every single mod in Tekkit updates to 1.3 before 1.4 comes out then yeah, Tekkit should update. But AFAIK a lot of them still haven't updated. I bet when 1.4 comes out, those who have still not finished will halt work on the unfinished 1.3 version and start working on 1.4... so there will never be a 1.3 version for those mods. Or I could be overestimating the proximity of 1.4's time of release and none of my arguments apply. XD

On topic: Tekkit will more than likely not update to 1.3 at all. 1.4 is about to come out and half the mods still haven't updated to 1.3. I wouldn't bother if I were the Tekkit team. They might make a release but it wouldn't help you because then you'd be left hyped up about the 1.4 version... Like Neowulf said, it's a bad idea to get hyped up. Just sit back and enjoy what we have.

There's also a balance aspect... It's much easier to build a BC quarry. Efficient RP2 quarries take real skill to make.

That mod was inspired by Rocket Science which is basically nuke missiles that runs on top of IC2, but it hasn't been updated in quite some time which is a f***ing shame.

You can always pay some Indonesian child to carry stuff back and forth manually in exchange for a computer.

Long story. XD It's back up now. The new IP is tekkit.scandic.us. The old IP has a tiny server with a sign with the new IP so existing players shouldn't have a problem connecting.
