  1. What's wrong with that? The point of the launchers is to let the end user play modded minecraft without having to do a bunch of work. 99% of the people here don't care about whether you use FTB or Technic, just play the game (The 1% is basically the trolls like the one above and people who hate Technic). And I already posted why I use(d) Technic, not that it really matters.
  2. I used it because it allowed me to play modded minecraft with mods that were very difficult to get working (this was back in Beta 1.7.3). I stuck with it because it allowed an easier method to putting all of these mods together for usage. I'm currently using the DW20 pack though, since it's available for the newest version, whereas Technic is still in dev build status. But I'll probably play it again at some point in the future. Where it's from makes no difference; it's all about playing modded minecraft after all.
  3. Also, with the newer versions of IC2, there's no need to cover the reactor in water, so you'd need to go out of your way to just get this effect in the first place.
  4. I usually just go into the caves and collect what I can, until I hit around level 10, and then I sometimes go mining off in straight lines from there. But once I can, automation.
  5. I haven't really played Minecraft much in the past 4 months or so, but I know that I enjoy the mining aspect of it, as well as building crazy/average machines to do stuff for me. Like with my 7.0.1 world, I created my first Logistics pipes auto sorting system, and then added an auto crafting system onto it. I never really delved too deeply into every mod, but I was planning on doing more. Then I remembered how important backing up saves is, and basically rage quit from the world after I lost anything that was in a chest from Iron Chests. Still have that world though. But I digress. Its the, well, mining and the crafting that keeps me coming back. Hopefully I'll commit more time to my 1.4.6 world though, as I'd really like to get into more stuff.
  6. I've seen a case somewhere where it's used to disable transmitters for an amount of time. I forget what is was from and it's exact purpose, but it worked for it there.
  7. It's an issue with Buildcraft. Now go make a proper bug report in the correct section.
  8. It takes the terrain.png and items.png and breaks them up into individual texture images, and leaves the base .png's behind, minus all the textures removed (ie terrain.png still has breaking animation, water, lava, fire, and whats left of the old chest). Useful for people looking to edit the textures one at a time rather than all on the terrain/items.png
  9. Well, you could just use motors, which are meant to "push" frames. Also, that grammar...
  10. That is true; however, it apparently isn't always needed as I am running Chrome (which is only 32 bit), and only have 64 bit installed. But yes, what they said.
  11. Minecraft isn't like most other games, and will eat up all the PC's resources regardless, especially with all the mods and a higher res TP. But yes, use 2-4 GB RAM (More sometimes=Less). And just to be sure, in case you have an integrated graphics card, make sure java is set to use the Radeon card. And make sure you don't have Java 32 installed alongside Java 64, as it will default to the slower Java 32. Doing all that may increase performance, but don't expect any jump in FPS, especially when using a recording program.
  12. Use that picture a lot, don't you. Someone should make a counter for how many times that's been used and put it somewhere noticeable. Or just make the page actually look like that, which would be funny interesting.
  13. It's entertaining to say the least, but don't bother with it if you don't have the time to read through it (it could take a while). And no problem. Just helping to make sure everyone can use an awesome TP.
  14. Iffy necro, but here's a working link anyway. Note, it may not work for 1.2.5 versions so readily (for creative at least), but I'm not 100% sure about that. Just so you know.
  15. Yeah. That's one of the main reasons I still use the Technic Launcher. Even if theirs might have more fancy bits on it, this one works and doesn't do anything silly. Just the mods do (ie: three torches in the top row make a waterproof switch pipe). But that can be fixed through different means. It's a shame that people are subjected to these things. And yes, welcome to a place where you won't be hated on unnecessarily, until you do something wrong. We just want to play the mods like everyone else.
  16. Oh yes, they were fun. I only started in 1.4_01, and got into mods shortly into 1.5. Buildcraft was very different back then. And I've owned it since just before 1.0 was released. I trialed it, and then waited to see if I could somehow get it for free. It was worth a shot.
  17. I thought I remembered a mod that made milk into a liquid (forestry?) for some use, but I am not sure and may just be thinking wrongly.
  18. I know it was a joke, but I wouldn't be surprised if she did wait until after the 21st anyway.
  19. "So I have recently received further news about the release of Red Power 2. It has apparently been decided that release of the mod has been delayed until after the 21st December 2012. Apparently there are fears that if Eloraam was to release now, the amount of data being downloaded at one time would effectively bring down the internet." Straight out of the news section of the FTB Launcher. So maybe it'll be a Christmas present? Also, I doubt the latter part of that^ would happen, but at the same time...
  20. Direwolf20 did a little series a while back on programming the turtles. Don't know if this'll help you, but here it is anyway.
  21. It's not an SMP mod, thus adding it to Tekkit is only useful if you play Tekkit SSP. :ninja:
  22. I hope that Thaumcraft isn't included until permissions are had, simply because it's one of those mods that shouldn't be lost simply because of a lack of permissions. Install it manually if you want it until then. Simple as that.
  23. No taint, but flux. An all new challenge.
