  1. I can make a normal shapeless recipe, or use Stone Brick -> Furnace -> Cracked Bricks.
  2. A stone brick cracker? What would it make, and from what?
  3. Actually I was just going to have a shapeless recipe that spat out a multitool. This is the first mod I've even started, so it wasn't going to be great, to say the least. Overpowered? Most likely, yes. I just don't want to have to import the railcraft, IC2, BC, whatever else there is stuff to make a one-item mod.
  4. Try the "Notify" button on the top of the board, rather than thetop of the thread. It'll tell you when there is a new thread posted. With a little work I think I may have this done. If not, I'll have to import a few long tons of dependencies and then do it.
  5. Is there a way to do that? All of the recipe tutorials I've seen use the in-code name of the block, but none use its ID. I'm looking for something like ModLoader.ItemWithID(int ID)
  6. A word of warning: TheInstitutions' custom block tutorials have a small problem. Where he says to type "GenerateSurface", you should type "generateSurface" - with the lower-case g. I thought it was a little weird when he did it, but I thought "hey, this is Notch we're talking about here". Nope, it was wrong. Half an hour of not seeing a custom block anywhere later... "generateSurface", NOT "GenerateSurface" . Lower-case g. Use one.
  7. I think that's the same for all of them, so I'd guess it's an MCP thing.
  8. To make jakj happy and because I am a n00b: How would one set Eclipse up to use MCP and Forge? How would one get the MCP Javadoc working? Is there a Forge Javadoc?
  9. Aha! I shall be using this. Now, exams or modding...
  10. Wear it and find out. I should imagine it's just a randomly generated name for an item, nothing special.
  11. Re: Avatar Tabletop Updated 5/4/12 I've never played a TRPG, but here are a couple of thoughts: Simple Wave requires "equal points" in sure-footedness. Should this be "equal or greater"? [nerdrage]ENERGY BENDING? WHY NOT JUST MAKE THE GUY BE ABLE TO DO EVERYTHING? OH WAIT, HE CAN! EVERYTHING IS ENERGY! RARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH![/nerdrage]

    Proof.

If you're in the UK try pcspecialist.com . I don't know how they are, I haven't got one, but a friend of mine had one from there and doesn't seem to have a problem. They let you specify each part (from a selection), but again IDK if that is a standard thing or not.
  13. I still think we should prod Mojang into doing something about it. While I don't really believe this will have a huge effect, if we got enough people to email them about it, at least the issue would be raised. Just distributing a security mod will not be sufficient, not least because you are known as the guy who fixed SirS's thing, and if I do anything to it, all people will have to do is look and see that a) I'm registered over here, and I've talked to you about it. And don't forget about the JavaCompiler class. That can do some nasty stuff if you don't look out. EDIT: It seems that that isn't as much of a threat as I thought. I don't know for certain, but it may only work on systems with a JDK installed.
  14. Buy it, I believe.
  15. I had this problem as well, a while back. I don't have the server any more, so I can't post logs or version numbers to try and save this thread. All I can do is confirm that it's not just these two.
  16. AFAIK, you can chose to only upgrade certain mod packs. The options panel has a manual build selection option.
  17. Arr! These be dangerous waters ye be sailin' in! No. The "non-launcher" (read: installer) version will not be updated.
  18. Unless I've read it wrong, there's a secret dimension mentioned in this post, this may be directions to get to it. http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,7854.msg54526.html#msg54526
  19. There is that, yes.
  20. Delete your username from the ops file. Job jobbed.
  21. Re: Is there a version of the technic launcher that.....(doesn't ask him to log in) Wait, weren't we already talking about that?
  22. Get off my lawn! Rap music! Come back with my teeth!
  23. I had a summer job in the IT office of a fairly large company last year, including a week on the helpdesk. This was the same week that one of the major systems went belly up. For about three days, the standing solution was "read the intranet homepage". This did not stop the same person ringing up every day to ask if there was any update that wasn't on the intranet. Somebody else rang up saying that the receipt printer in their office wasn't working. Or rather, was working but wouldn't stop working, to the tune of about 1000 pages. Of course, "I didn't do anything to it". Uh huh, right. I know these are probably fairly tame, but I was only there for a week and didn't get time to become sufficiently jaded. The rest of the time, I was programming, doing hardware installs...and cataloguing server tapes. I got a free desktop (the one I'm on at the moment) and 5GB of RAM out of it.
