That's block ID conflicts. You'll want to get the original config, otherwise players on the server won't have the same IDs for computer craft as the server, and so it will be unusable.

What's gone wrong with my machine setup?
theprolo replied to Fox Racer30's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Yeah, that probably means that your power input is too low per tick. Try putting transformer upgrades into your non advanced machines, and switch to MV power. That should give your machines more power. Also, don't bother removing the MFE because that outputs MV power itself, while a Batbox would output far less and struggle to power such power-hungry machines - just add in transformer upgrades and remove your LV transformer, and this setup should work fine provided that you have enough power input. -
It was the first one you answered really, I never had the second one either. I'm not really sure what else could cause lag, have you tried fiddling with the optifine settings? Perhaps the optifine in normal Tekkit doesn't work for your computer. Do you have multicore?

Are they running alright when you use them, or do they run out of power? If they work fine, just ignore it. -
Either you're using an outdated version of the server or you're trying to connect with Vanilla minecraft, I'm fairly sure it's not the second from that post so you probably need to update your server. Go download it from the Technic website and you'll have the right one.
-
Then he should go post in Tekkit. I'll answer anyway and say that you're probably trying to connect to a Tekkit server with your normal minecraft which won't work, because Tekkit still uses a previous version of Minecraft.
-
There are no Technic servers... It's a single player only modpack.
-
I If you do this properly it should work. I got a huge increase in FPS by doing this, so there's probably something here you're doing wrong. What steps did you take to switch to your graphics card?
-
If resources aren't a problem then surely a stable and automated CASUC inside your castle would be a better option than an external power supply? Much like real reactors, they're only a threat if you build them wrong, and even then. A reactor forcefield should prevent any damage to other systems, with possibly a backup generator set up.

I'm not sure, but putting one underneath an end portal should provide instant teleportation to the end.
-
Because Tekkit uses Bukkit servers. Portal gun mod doesn't work for Bukkit servers. It never will for minecraft 1.2.5.

I think the best use of force fields would be in traps. A few deflectors set up properly could cage someone looting your stuff if done properly, and with things like CCSensors and turtles you can make the trigger undetectable - they'll probably rage quit the server if you manage to stick them in a 1x2x1 space(so there is only room for them), since if it's a box with no corners and no room to place blocks, I'm fairly sure that at least most FF greifing methods will be unworkable. A possible method of trapping them inside the forcefield would be teleporters- perhaps underneath a corridor which has it's floor removed by pistons(CCSensors triggered?), more than one block long, which would teleport anyone who hasn't done something in particular, such as the key card method, into this forcefield. I would consider the greatest use of forcefields to actually be containment, rather than the more commonly used and better known repulsion, since it renders most, if not all, the usual methods of cheating forcefields useless as well as consuming far less energy to run constantly. Of course, the very best method of protecting your stuff is actually not to be found in the first place - all defences are useless if there's no need to defend anything.

This thread died back in June, why are you necro posting about something which... Well, I'm not sure what that actually is. You obviously didn't even bother to read the thread that you necro posted in, because they worked out in the first reply that powerconverters is still in Tekkit, just with different IDs...

Try posting this in the Technic forum rather than the Tekkit one?

Where can we follow Tekkit development?
theprolo replied to Inacio's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
If you really want to know, go look at the mods in Tekkit on their own pages. I'm sure you'll be able to see why there isn't something like this - all it would say is "waiting for mods to be updated..." Every time. The Tekkit team doesn't make the mods, they just put them together. The only thing to follow is the mods progress, because until they're all done, there isn't any Tekkit progress. -
That's a completely different problem, why would you post that in a thread about a server error. Try posting this in the bugs section, Swat. You might get responses there other than people with completely different problems trying to hijack your thread.

If you've got a red matter pick, why do you even want obsidian? You might as well just condense it.

Anyone know how to electrocute someone in tekkit?
theprolo replied to oddball118's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
You need uninsulated cables and a lot of electricity. -
I don't know if it will work, but you could try adding in some redstone engines powering the steam ones.

They won't heat up because the heating up is caused by a buildup of energy. All their energy is going into the Quarry so they won't heat up.

PLEASE assist me with installing Tekkit on my server
theprolo replied to NeonRain's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Erm... Can I combine them both and say make a new one, and copy over your world and plugins files. It'll work exactly the same, pretty much. -
Expanding MFFS Deflector Forcefield

This video should explain it pretty well, it's how I learned: -
Expanding MFFS Deflector Forcefield
theprolo replied to haws1290's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
That's not a problem, because there's something made specifically to do that Use a Reactor Containment Field Projector attached to your reactor, then an MFFS reactor connector to take the power out. It's an amazing method of reactors, because with the MFFS Reactor Heat Control, you can actually make a reactor completely full of Uranium and it won't explode. I won't go into detail, it's pretty technical and takes ages to explain. -
http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/tp-simpleback-go-back-to-your-death-point-1-2-3-r-0-1.67336/ Just put that in your server's plugins folder.
