  1. Put some buffer tanks in the fuel line between the refineries and the engines. Eventually all the engines will fill up with fuel, the pipes will back up, and the tanks will begin to fill up with the excess fuel.
  2. Oil is, in fact, infinite, provided that you have the energy link and oil fabricator enabled. Behold: This is a fuel feedback machine. It uses combustion engines to power oil fabricators and refineries, which refuel the combustion engines. It produces fuel in excess of what's needed to run the engines.
  3. The map posting forum generally requires you to actually post a map. ;)
  4. Make a complete local backup of your old server. Upload to new server at your leisure. No special software is required for this. You just need your FTP/SFTP access details and an FTP client. I suggest FileZilla.
  5. OP clearly did not read the documentation for the Automatic Crafting Table II:
  6. You might look into the NoItem bukkit plugin. Its `noitem.nosmelt.[item]` permission is designed to work on furnaces, but **may** also work on other machines like macerators (which act like furnaces.) Are you also disabling bonemeal maceration, cow/mooshroom abuse (milk/mushroom stew EMC loops), the flax capacitor (high speed RP2 flax farm), cobble generators, .... (My approach was just to disable the entire Equivalent Exchange mod. It doesn't balance with the rest of Tekkit.)
  7. The timer is the redstone signal. You don't need a separate redstone wire or anything. For reference: This is my geothermal-powered mass fabricator in the Nether. It's generated 2,000 UUM, so it's chewed through at least 100,000 blocks of lava so far. (1 UUM = 50 blocks of lava.)
  8. Space near the reactor is limited. Retrievers can be on the other end of a tube, so they don't have to be butted up against the reactor (and taking up valuable space!) This is important when you try to reach flow rates of ten buckets per second in an 1800-2000 EU/t setup. With that many uranium cells, and that few water bucket spaces, you have to extract the spent buckets very very quickly. Eight RP2 retrievers on a fast timer does that quite well.
  9. The Tekkit SMP subforum. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious. (Sidenote: I agree with the OP. I've taken to posting anything I care about in the Technic Encyclopedia or the Get Lost Grotto subforums instead, because they have a much better signal-to-noise ratio.)
  10. I've found that RP2 Relays are very good for inserting water buckets, and retrievers are very good for pulling the empty buckets back out.
  11. I stand corrected. Low-quality server advertising posts shall be left alone so they run off the bottom of the topic list as fast as possible. (Sidenote: The guy is a sore loser.)
  12. LethalTortoise: Please read this question-answer on the Technic Questions website - http://questions.technicpack.net/1544/when-will-technic-tekkit-update-for-the-new-version-minecraft .
  13. This is the wrong forum for this post. You actually wanted to post this in the White List Servers forum. Also, please post with proper English capitalisation and punctuation.
  14. I'm beginning to think that Kingdom of Loathing's compulsory spelling and grammar test was a very good idea.
  15. As above, no permission is needed - the LGPL license grants you the right to modify and redistribute modified versions as you see fit, so long as you follow the terms of the LGPL license. My point about asking for patches instead of forking your own version was more to do with benefiting the maximum number of people. If your changes are pulled into the main branch of the Factions code, then that benefits everyone (not just the people who happen to find your special, custom version.) I didn't intend to imply that what you were doing was actually wrong in a legal or ethical sense. My $0.02.
  16. The Factions plugin is on Github under a LGPL license. No permission is required to modify and redistribute modified versions of the plugin. (Techpriest: Back off!)
  17. Right you are. However, since it's on Github, surely the better way to release your custom version would be as a Github fork? This would let us see what changes you made (plus, if your changes are any good, they might be pulled back into the main branch of the Factions plugin.)
  18. More to the point, why didn't you contact the plugin's author and ask about Tekkit compatibility patches?
  19. It will be ready when it's ready™. Not a moment before, not a moment after. Edit: After @Xylord's post, I wrote this: http://questions.technicpack.net/1544/when-will-technic-tekkit-update-for-the-new-version-minecraft?show=1545#a1545 . Feel free to point any future "When will Technic update?" questions to this canned answer.
  20. There's no shame in experimenting in a creative-mode playground. Personally I spend a lot more time in creative mode than in survival mode because I enjoy designing machinery much more than swinging a pickaxe at yet another stone block. All up to you, of course. :)
  21. A lot of these people are quite obviously new to online forums. Once upon a time I tried to educate them - I was, after all, an internet newbie myself about ten years ago - but it's the Eternal September and I just can't keep up. Generally I just ignore them because typing out a rational answer to "TEKKIT CRASHE AFTER MOJONG PLZ HELP11!!!" would just raise my blood pressure too much. Edit 1: The best I could manage was this. Edit 2: I really wish for something like StackOverflow's "Close as Exact Duplicate", both here and on Technic Questions.
  22. I, unlike you, am not a mod. I have to be careful not to overstep my authority... Edit: Really, low-effort or badly-written posts just make me angry and frustrated, so 90% of the time I just skip them entirely. This is one of the things that frustrates me about Technic Questions - 90% of the questions there would be blammed into oblivion if posted somewhere like Stack Overflow, where "try to help yourself first" and "write proper English sentences" are heavily enforced rules. Well, that and the outstanding bugs / misfeatures by design in the Q2A install used for Technic Questions - brand-new users *still* can't ask questions, comment, or vote. I've been holding off on downvotes because if I put people into negative rep they'll *never* get comment privileges. Edit: Ironically, for spelling and grammar.
  23. Probably the Advanced Wooden Pipe from Additional Buildcraft Objects (?). By the time you go to this kind of effort, though, you could just use a Redpower2 pneumatic tube system, which is better in every conceivable way. Come to the dark Redpower2 side. We have cookies.
