Specific to GNOME. Gnome can be installed on pretty much any distro. I was more refering to if there was some sort of apt-get or something like that in there.

EDIT: dammit, the first post came back with an error!

SSP: cruel dictatorship of torture, until I get tired of defending the godamn villagers from zombies, and just set my dogs on them. SMP: depends on the scale. if on a large scale, surprising similar to ssp, except the dictatorship is cleverly disguised as a corporation. (my favorite line for killing people? "I'm sorry, but you have not met the quota for remaining here. You shall be fired. Off a cliff.") in smaller scale, full on communism. I don't care where you got your shit from, even if you earned it, it is owned by the community, and shall be used by the community. Needless to say, a lot of people don't like working with me.

no, do not use hypercam. CamStudio is a free one that records in better quality and is super easy to use.

what is your operating system? Operating system is what your computer loads when you first start it, IE, Windows 7, OSX, Ubuntu

there is an edit button for a reason. And we can't help you without a crash log, to find them, click start, then run. In the box, type in %appdata% then click .techniclauncher, and after that click logs open up the one log that has a 0 in the name, and copy and paste the ENTIRE THING to this website: http://pastebin.com link us to the page it is on once you do that.

Not bad. It should run on any other distros, not seeing any weird ubuntu or debian specific commands there.

I first heard of it when it was around alpha 1.2.2 or something like that. Didn't catch my attention. I later saw a video of equivalent exchange, when the game was in 1.7.3. I immediately acquired a 100% legal copy, and had a blast. I probably would have never bought it due to cash problems for a while, but then technic went to the launcher. I loved technic so much I immediately threw my money at the screen. This was in 1.1 of course.

7z files don't use a very good password protection scheme from what I have heard. Brute force them or see if you can find a ripper. Also, the XML structure there is kind of interesting, it basically just outlines everything, the MD5s, the owner, and the URL. Not to mention date last modified. You could probably dig up some interesting shit from there. It would be interesting if somebody could write a program that would take the stuff from there and put it into working links with titles automagically. I have found some interesting things already. Did you know that you can still download working 1.2.5 minecraft jars from there? (not giving links to avoid yo ho ho and a bottle of rum) There are also a couple of "full builds" (not snapshots) of minecraft there that shouldn't exist. Like 1.4.1. EDIT: found where the cape script for mojang draws it's texture from: also, possibly an early copy of MC for the rasberry pi? I don't own one so I can't test: http://assets.minecraft.net/pi/minecraft-pi-0.1.tar.gz (never mind, comes back with an access denied. They must really want that under wraps.) something else weird I found: http://assets.minecraft.net/unstitcher/unstitcher.jar I don't have a texture pack on this computer to test it, anybody know what it does? There is also a link to minecraft build "rc2" anybody have any idea what that could mean?

IGN: Miniboxer (capitol M if it is case sensitive) I always attempt to incorporate my skin into my RP stuff. Sometimes easier than others... Desired NICK: Unit 12-ZK BIO: Unit 12-ZK was produced as a line of 26 different construction bots, each with a specialty. Each was identical and a single bot could replace an entire workforce of humans. Their central AI was turned off by mistake, and then they gained sentience. An odd property of them was that due to their immense strength and precision, they were excellent warriors. They could fell a Specializing in complex setups and heavy machinery, ZK decided to forge his own life. Show he was superior with his technology. Only the pathetic fleshbags use magic. It is a waste of time and resources, as technology ALWAYS triumphs over magic. The industrial revolution is proof. The other bots were one by one eliminated. YK was eliminated, and ZK was next. He ran, and found an ancient stargate. These wonders of technology were rare in his galaxy. He dialed it into a far galaxy, and warped in, destroying the gate behind him.

weird boat thing I made in like five minutes. I don't know what it has to do with tekkit:

Why is Tekkit 3.1.3 made as the official download link?

Best dubstep/electro house song in your opinion?

This might qualify as a meme, but: -
Arch Linux is a good basis system. EXTREMELY hard to use though (it doesn't have seperate server and client builds, if you know what I mean [not in a dirty way]), if you want it to be slightly easier, go with archbang. Still not very user friendly, though. It is very lightweight, and has an extremely powerful pakage building system. You can make easy to install self updating packages for stuff you didn't even make.

Three best true dubstep artists: Ry Legit: His stuff can be a bit explicit sometimes, but the drops are always insane xKore: mentioned before, but his stuff is good. Not super heavy, but still good. Chrispy: This guy. His stuff is madness. It ranges from remixes of songs that everybody knows, yet still sound original (He completely removes all the lyrics, and the remixes are not even true remixes, they are more just songs made to the beat of the original), to his own original tracks that sound oddly familiar, yet still amazing. Dubba Jhonny is fine, but not really amazing.
