Wood fences are the best, just make sure the area is filled with torches to avoid spawning. Or use a plugin like Essentials on your server and simply deactivate the creeper explosion damage, they will still explode, but they won't do any damage to the world.

Best trick, get some geothermal generators, I got 6 of them hooked to a MFSU with fiber cables, and they produce 120EU/t its the best source of power I've found that is easy to setup (only downside is they are very loud, so you want them to be deep down in the ground to avoid noises), and with a nether base and a pump and an automatic crafting table, you can get an infinite supply of lava cells to get into your generators.

I can suggest minecraftserver.net their staff is awesome dealing with problems, never seen a team more dedicated to their customers ever, just ask for the custom jar support (they will enable it for you quickly) and follow their own guide in their knowledge base to install tekkit and bam, tekkit runs like a charm there.

Just backup everything that is on your server (just in case) then erase everything from your server folder everything completely, then download a fresh copy of the Tekkit server, unzip it and upload everything (except the world and any world related folder like the World_Nether) in both the jar folder and the root folder of the server.

Hooked mine to 6 geothermal Generators connected to a MFSU and it works well, for the lava, I got a base in the Nether with a pump and an autocrafting table that produce lava cells with some pipes and a redpower2 timer the thing produce lava cells alone and I can power my geothermal generators quickly.

I'll take a look at them, just hope they aren't Australian, I hate their accent, I'm from Quebec and speak french and understand english very well but not from Australian people, they sound very weird to me, most of the time you can't figure out what they are saying. No, I'M searching for a youtube serie involving Tekkit 3, not looking for someone to play with, maybe I'm not clear

I'm looking for a good Lets Play serie that would involve Tekkit 3 and not the old version 2, because version 2 had Forestry and most of the series I've seen are focused on it for their biogas engines, so totally useless when you want to mess around with version 3 that doesn't have Forestry. I repeat, not complaining about Forestry, just want to learn to play without it and mess around with all the other mods Tekkit 3 has to offer.

I got it right, but I'm not gonna do that essentially, too long, would take forever to do it, maybe someone has it somewhere and is willing to share their hard work with the community that love to use tekkit servers with mcmmo.

I know Forestry was part of the tekkit pack, but I've also clearly understood that it won't ever be part of Tekkit Pack anytime soon because the author doesn't want his mod in tekkit pack for whatever reason, and if I understand clearly, if Buildcraft integrate Forestry in it, Buildcraft will become a forbidden mod for Tekkit since it contains Forestry, I hope I'M wrong here, cause having Forestry back would be awesome in Tekkit, but I really doubt it will happen based on the fact that everyone talking about Forestry here isn't welcome at all.

What if I want the id of the weapons and such, they don't seem to appear when I do a dump, maybe I've done something wrong, I need item ids for mcmmo to make the tools work with it.

I just hope that buildcraft won't be ever removed from tekkit if they decide to include Forestry, I wouldn't be surprised they would do this, seeing the way mods and devs of Tekkit seem to hate Forestry devs. I wouldn't be surprised they would stay with Buildcraft 2 just to make sure Forestry is never a part of Tekkit again.

It can also work with Lava and if done correctly with an automatic crafting table, you can produce lava cells, done a base in the nether just for that, and now no problem for my array of geothermal generators.

Good Luck, there's not any real good one in 16x at least, better take a look at texture packs made for BuildCraft and IndustrialCraft, some of them include stuff for EquivalentExchange and RedPower2, even Iron Chests, theses are the basic mods found in Tekkit so they should work.

I'm getting similar problems and we are just 2 players (my brother and myself), and the crash happens randomly, sometimes we can play for 5-6 hrs without problems, then suddenly, it crash every 10-15 minutes. Here its like newbies aren't allowed on the forums, and we can't ask questions here, its like its not allowed, what if like me the guy just discovered the Tekkit after seeing a couple of videos about that he can be perfectly expecting to see Forestry inside, a load of youtube videos show forestry in tekkit actually, and he may not know what the author of Forestry did and he simply ask because 99% of the time the results of forum search engine don't lead to a clear answer. I've just tested it out and didn't find the answer to the question at all.

Yeah it seems asking for Forestry will get your post deleted without any warning, I tried to help someone yesterday and my post was deleted without reason before I could blink an eye.

Would love to have this too, also it would be cool if the gem tools would get us experience like the normal tools and the special abilities would work with the new ores too.

Thanks for your kind help but this doesn't resolve anything since I got the recipe there fine but its not something a new survival mode player can quickly make, all the stuff in that recipe isn't easy to get if you want to stay legit without cheats, or else there's something I'm not familiar with there, if I got to mine for 3-4 real days (not Minecraft days) just to get the alchemy bags crafted, it just totally ruin the utility of it. The backpack recipe was much more easier to do, will have to find something else for starting up or simply will forget about that.
