You should just be able to move your saves from .minecraft to .techniclauncher/vanilla/saves. If it didn't work then the the versions must not be the same.

SirSengir the guy who does forestry doesn't seem to like us too much and his mod is pretty decent. A good place to start? I'd rather people send money to the modders who's mods they really like rather then some kind of attempt to mend bridges. If donations were going to fix rifts they'd be fixed by now.

There's also always hope that the technic launcher will be actually better then whatever Mojang puts out at first. Either way, it will be ages before all the mods in technic or yogbox or the voxel box (voxel pack experience?) switch to the api since it involves more or less changing everything. Some might not even switch at all. No matter what you'd still have to go out and download all the mods and then put them together. And no matter the API, there will always be conflicts. We cater to the "don't want to do any work" crowd. And that's perfectly fine. You shouldn't have to. We aim to make it so that you can just play how you want without the hassle of doing it manually. There will still be a market for that post API.

Well, no, your reason why the "pirate" part is invalid doesn't make any sense, I think you're confused. Even putting that aside though, there are ways to put your own mods into the launcher packs. We even provide a vanilla file if you want to make one from scratch. Honestly, resurrecting the old launcher and then rewriting it to have some kind of mod loading system (what?) is a hell of a lot more work. I really don't understand your motivation or your goals.

You can load up technic and then just disable the mods you don't want if that's why you're playing tekkit for SSP instead of Technic.

There is no fathomable reason why you should want to do what you are trying to do unless you are trying to find a way to play a pirated version of MC is why. The old installer was scrapped because it doesn't have the ability to auto downgrade minecraft to the correct version, doesn't have the ability to auto update your pack to the latest versions or require you to redownload everything for a patch, AND it doesn't let you play four different modpacks and vanilla without having to remove one and play another or spend weeks putting all the mods together in the first place. So you're either a pirate or an idiot who is wasting their time, and either way you're going to be made fun of! :thumbsup:
