The coal generator? Make sure the wire is connecting with the generator, there is a specific side that will correctly connect, same for the battery box. Don't forget, the OUTput is the grey circle, the INput is the red circle. So you connect the wire with the grey circle of the gen, and the red circle of the batbox.

And apparently, Optifine can fuck up some specific computers, even though it improves the performance of others, which is the reason the creator refused to let it be added to packs.

I've seen many ambitious mod ideas, but this... Long story short, you have more chances to see this becoming a reality if you start off simple (Create a new dimension that is the orbit, for example), and then you add more complicated stuff gradually. And also, the odds of an experimented modder just picking up YOUR idea and making YOUR idea a reality are between 0 and... Minus 1. If a modder is good enough to make this, he'll just go ahead and make his own dream-mod. You'll have better chances if you start learning code by yourself, and make the mod by yourself.

For now ; He doesn't want to permit other packs to use it because TC3 is still in beta, and thus buggier than it could be. He's buddy with the FTB folks, so they can have it, but once the official release is out, Technic will probably have it as well.

I know this is a very extreme over-simplification, but honestly, look at modding communities like Oblivion's, Skyrim's, Mount and Blade's, Civilization's. Just people sharing mods, and people playing mods. Nothing more, nothing less. Why is the MC community a special case? The biggest problem is that we have here a thing called the cult of personality, which is absent from the examples I cited above. Now, I'm all for giving the option to donate, and congratulating modders on making great mods, but here, it kind of degenerated. Just look at all those god-forsaken ad.fly links, at all the X vs Y flamewars, at the made up copyrights, at the fanbois and at the haters. An example of this terrible mix taken to the extreme? King Dong XIV. He literally has an army of ass-kissers on one side, who agree with him on every word he spits, and on the other side, haters that find every of his actions despicable and evil. This is probably the most representative example of the problem with MC's community. Whilst every other modding community is 95% modding, 5% thanking the modders for making them, MC is 90% drama, 9% ad.fly links, 0,9% being thankful toward the mod authors. There is something wrong here.

This is simply one of those subjects that make people emotional. Rule of the thumb, if you can't bring up the subject during Christmas without spoiling the eve, it will probably make people butthurt in forums as well.

You're dumb too. That's not the reason Optifine was removed. Optifine almost always noticeably improves performance on almost all systems. It would be in the modpacks, but the mod maker refuses to let any modpack maker add it to their pack.
