  1. Sorry if I intimidated you. There are indeed many things you haven't learned in school. Also, pretty sure Jean Escuador Zoro Is talking about my beautiful wall-of-science.
  2. What I wanted to communicate in my post was, that you posted in the wrong section, there wasn't enough information for us to help, this wasn't a bug report and you obviously didn't read the thread of the common problems and solutions.
  3. :( This made my evening a tiny bit sadder.
  4. My avatar is prettier than most people... Inside. Also, redstone is a source of electricity. Redstone torches and ore produce light, without needing combustion, so it can be assumed they produce a certain quantity of energy by radiation, probably. Moreover, Redstone torches are a source of electricity that can move through redstone power, meaning it is a conductor as well. The redstone electricity must have a fair level of energy, since it produce's enough J to move 1 cubic meter of pure gold when applied to a piston. This quite a bit of energy, as can be deduced from Newton's second law of physics, who says : Fnet = m * a Since a cubic meter of pure gold would weight about 19 tons, and this block can be moved of one meter in less than a second (But we'll say one), we can deduce a piston creates a force of 19000 Newtons, or 19000 Joules. Now this might not seem like much, but we have to account for the friction, who may waste as much as 40% of the original force. Let's settle for 25000 Joules, which is about 4 times the energy required to go up four floors with stairs, or 6000 calories, or the energy a human can extract from about eleven Big Macs. 25000 Joules per second can be translated into 25000 Watts, or eight washers. This means a single lump of redstone has plenty enough energy to power a very simple computer like CC's for something very close to eternity. Also, AFAIK, technology is the making, modification, usage, and knowledge of tools, machines, techniques, systems, in order to solve a problem, improve a preexisting solution to a problem, achieve a goal, handle an applied input/output relation or perform a specific function. Thus, technique can easily extend to electricity rather be limited to your rather restrictive definition of it. TL;DR No one fucking cares about semantics.
  5. ...Well, electricity and materials needed to make circuits are within the boundaries of technology in my world.
  6. True, logistic pipes are pretty darn amazing. But the normal ones are rather meh.
  7. Welcome. One thing that Duncan does that could hinder you in the future though, he used buildcraft pipes in this series, but Redpower pneumatic pipes are sooo much better. I'd recommend you get used to them right away.
  8. You can find on youtube many tutorial series, but I'd think the most newb-friendly out there is Duncan's series on Tekkit. Remember that the actual tutorial starts at the episode 4.
  9. First of all, I would like to tell you you seem like an intelligent and eloquent folk, and for those reasons I believe you will be accepted here. Moreover, I know from experience even opinions against the Technic pack are never censored around here, so if you don't go down the "Mindless rambling rage" road, you don't have to worry about being warned or banned. It is almost common knowledge that the moderation team on the curse forum's is shit-tastic, and I hope for you the first moderator will be punished for his bias, even though I doubt it. But please try to stay as objective as you are right now, as FTB in general is a very touchy subject.
  10. My understanding was that your personal information was inadvertently recorded in your launcher log due to a bug. Say, if you copy-pasted this log, your account could be easily pirated by someone aware of the bug. So, let's say Bobby makes a bug report on the FTB forums. He keeps playing FTB, but doesn't really go in the forums, he's more on the Technic forums. His account could have been hacked, and he wouldn't receive this warning.
  11. This is a pretty big issue. Odds are that there are some FTB users that still lurk more around here than in the FTB forums. I think it would be safe to say that everybody who could be concerned should know about it.
  12. Reminds me of the good old days of the boosters-before-the-boosters-were-added.
  13. Maybe, but the question here is, what exactly is this budget?
  14. Got it around Beta 1.2 and played with it occasionally ever since, with more interest when I discovered mods around B 1.7, with my some periods more intense depending of other games.
  15. Might be the removed blocks will be transformed into something, or simply disappear, too.
  16. :highfive: For not drowning in our debt! (No offense desired )
  17. Well, it can't be all that bad, since, you know, it's the best country in the world. :norway:
  18. What about an educated engineer working in Norway?
  19. The katar's special capacity is an area-of-effect one hit kill.
  20. Well, I thought about that, but I worry that the chicken-related lag and the nuke-related lag might multiply and make nuclear chicken lag, thus crashing the server.
  21. Pretty sure there's a command for that, in worst case, you can always use the Katar.
  22. Do you know what is better than dropping the bass? Dropping the base! Shitty puns aside, I have to admit it isn't all that amazing musically, but quite a feat still.
  23. Golly, that's an awesome blobfish, thank you very much. I like the furry-lady too.
  24. Don't feel obliged, but I'd love to see your take on a blobfish! No need to restrain yourself, just draw how the perfect blobfish would be in your wild imagination.
