  1. I hope you don't mind the Minecraft Wiki or its information. The despawning conditions can be found here at the very bottom of the page under 'Despawning.'
  2. Looks great! Thanks for applying my idea even if it doesn't end up in the final build of the dungeon. Anyways, will a 'starter set' of equipment be given to people before/just as they enter the dungeon? It'd be much easier to control things and could help you better develop a concept of which things you want where if there are fewer possible variables. Also, will this become a sort of 'adventure' with narration and all? I feel it has the potential to become one if you wanted to do so.
  3. Hmm. If a person 'finishes' a level of the dungeon, will there be a way to disable the spawners/dispensers/traps without having to destroy them? A button to make a level safer so that a person may return to any bases he or she may have fairly safely. Then again, if you didn't want that sort of thing, or you would want a person to stay in after they enter, then perhaps a way to lock each level (Or every few levels) behind the adventurer? Of course each time you had a new locked area there could be a small rest area (Even if it's just a bed) so that if an adventurer died they wouldn't be permanently locked out of the tower. EDIT: LazDude2012, I'd even go so far as to suggest sand, but hide or disguise it well enough so that an adventurer wouldn't be able to tell. Then if/when an Enderman removes a block (Even one that isn't sand) it'll fall. Although this would cause some issues such as if there are block changes on any level it may fall, and placing it may prove difficult.
  4. It looks excellent! Are you going to put skeletons on platforms (In a manner that their AI won't let them move) which will fire at the player? It'd be a simple trap that can be fairly easily disabled for some of the lower levels, I'd imagine.
  5. True enough, but dwarves have always held a special place in my heart since reading Tolkein's The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings series. So I may yet try it out.
  6. As for the chess/checkers idea... I'm not such a fan. Too much contrast and it'll make it look like tiles in an old kitchen or bathroom in my opinion. I'd suggest going for less obvious contrast, or if you want that kind of contrast, make the details light (Such as columns for structure or gargoylesque decorations. I don't think evenly placed tiles would 'fit' the theme. Also, maybe have areas in the wall of the tower that are old and broken or even patched hastily with other materials? It'd give the tower some life and feel old and more dungeonlike.
  7. I'd start by posting a bug report and seeking help in the bug section, and not the general section.
  8. Well, A Game of Dwarves will be coming out, which is literally meant to be as much of a new Dwarf Fortress as possible.
  9. Dark? Well, I got into knowing about dark things when I was a bit younger too. Then again, I wasn't trying to be a wizard or necromancer or whatever. I was the hero, the paladin come to save the day and mercilessly slaughter (Or humanely put down, based on perspective) the armies of evil. But hey, we were all 9 once, right?
  10. See freakachu's post above mine. Yup. It works fine.
  11. If this were legitimate, then I have this to say: There is email backup so even if you do lose your account, you can get it via email. If you managed to get both hacked, you'd deserve to lose your damn account. However, I suspect via your typing skills that your mother thinks Minecraft is too violent for someone so young such as yourself and won't get you an account.
  12. Here's a (Potentially) better idea. In your server config folder you can simply disable the nether rendering altogether. I understand the nether is good for some things, but if you're running your own small server for yourself and some friends or something, I'd just disable it and spawn some glowstone and such and use EE to make more. It'll not only improve the performance of the server drastically, but you shouldn't need to worry about Nether Ores causing you any problems while people who do have that mod don't have to disable it in order to connect.
  13. You can find the complete Technic/Tekkit 128x Sphax texture pack on these forums here, actually! It has the whole pack, including full Technic/Tekkit textures and 1.2.5 textures. If that's too hardware-intensive (It is pretty tough, combined with Technic/Tekkit), the 64x can be found with it too. The 128x works with 1.2.5 Minecraft stuff and Mo Creatures as well as the 64x, but it is under (Old 128x) link as opposed the 64x link.
  14. McAfee is... Bleh. I'd suggest changing your antivirus first of all. Tanner, if you're having issues with Technic crashing, first try not to double post, you will get yelled at by people. Second, make a bug report using the bug reporting format on your own thread.
  15. You can't. If you have a 32-bit system it's fine, you just need to make sure you have 32-bit java and not 64-bit java or they obviously won't work together.
  16. Try to make sure you have the latest version of Java. Also, which antivirus program do you have? Antivirus Program is not where you describe your problem. You put which Antivirus Program you have on your computer there.
  17. EXE OS? What? Tell me: Do you have a Mac, Windows, or Linux? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit? Is your Java 32-bit or 64-bit? And tell me which antivirus program you have. AVG, Norton, and a few others will cause problems.

    Im confused

Be careful not to let a mod see you signing your posts, you can get Kellered! Anyways, your antivirus program is fairly easy to find. You should be able to see its icon in the bottom-right hand of your screen. If not, then click the little triangle that when you hover your mouse on it, it says "Show hidden icons." From there you can probably find out which antivirus you have. Alternatively, a quick Bing (Or, eww, Google) search can tell you how to find out which antivirus you have. Other than that, I need more information. Tell me where it went wrong. From what I understand from your log, you had a crash. What were you doing when it crashed? How long were you playing beforehand? Tell me the whole story.
  19. I see. From a little before my time, sorry for my ignorance.
  20. I have something to ask: What the hell is a Lada?
  21. Not all machines have buttons. Some things turn on when you plug them in, and only turn off when they have no power being supplied to them. They have no activation, as their 'activation' is power. An example of this would be an autoconfiguring digital clock, by itself. Not counting the alarms or radio or anything that could come with it, the clock itself works on its own and cannot be turned off until you stop powering it. So while a digital clock can have buttons to set alarms and such, an autoconfiguring one that sets its own time when you plug it in, changes to daylight savings time and back on its own, and only turns on or off based on if it is being powered has no buttons. That is saying the clock itself, not any additions that may come with it (Such as alarms).
  22. You miss the point of my posts. I'm being a proponent of moderation and I am not defending any religion at all whatsoever (Or religion as a whole, for that matter). I was just making the point that if a person has a belief and wants to state it, they should have empirical evidence to back it up. Claiming something causes people to assume and ignore/not use evidence to back up their beliefs without providing empirical evidence of your own to back up your belief that the aforementioned doesn't make sense. Edit: I see what you mean. You were correcting my definition, my mistake. Anyways, you can disregard the above if you wish since it is no longer relevant.
  23. Not to be a total ass, but why? Why are these things true? Why is believing in a religion indicative of inability to look at things empirically and think logically? Again, I don't mean to be an ass, I just want to see your reasoning behind your belief. Edit: How? How has it been proven? How do you know the opposite is also not true? If you don't, how do you know that the former occurs more often? Simply put, one person cannot know with empirical evidence without at least one assumption or generalization. And those are the opposite of critical thinking. Another edit: Also, I'm not saying you're either necessarily wrong or necessarily right. I am simply being a proponent of critical thinking in all areas of life, including opinions of others and respect of their beliefs.
  24. Why is religion being generalized anyways? Religions don't do bad things by themselves, religion is not evil by itself, and it is not good by itself. The way people react to religion is what religion is being judged by, and that is entirely unfair to the religions and the moderates who follow them. An educated, rational person shouldn't look at the extremists of anything (Be it religion, a nation, atheism, a race... etc) to judge the whole. All religions have people who are educated and rational on the whole but may believe some things that others feel they don't have enough evidence to believe (Or in some cases believe something else with less empirical evidence and refuse the former belief for that reason). At the same time, all religions have ignorant idiots who refuse logic and reason and believe that anyone who believes anything other than them is either evil, stupid, or somehow 'lesser' than them, for lack of a better term. All religions have people that fit in one catagory or the other, as does atheism, agnosticism, all races and cultures, all nations, or anything else humans can be grouped by. In short, I agree with Icyblue. Religions are not purely evil or good by themselves (Although if you believe in one you may have a deity or deities which may be good or evil within your belief). Atheism isn't purely good or evil by itself (In the case that someone makes a claim as such). No race, nation, or person is purely good or evil (Some may believe so, if they believe in certain religions, however that is their belief). However, so that I can add to the topic and hopefully steer it in a new direction away from my point of "Don't generalize things based off of humans and human action," what I think is bulls#!+ in the world is how sensitive and easily offended people can get. If a person is offended by a slur, comment, or other ignorant gesture then they are participating 50% in their offense/oppression/whatever other term you wish to call it by identifying themself by whatever was done, deciding it was true in their mind, and becoming offended.

    Tekkit :(

Josoil, I know you're new so I'll give you a tip: Be sure to read the rules, and make sure not to double post because people don't like it.
