  1. If I may paraphrase: I didn't mean to offend you or make you feel stupid... You idiot. I love it! That's style, right there (No sarcasm intended whatsoever)!
  2. And even if they ended up satisfied with the list, and decided, "Hey, the Technic Pack, their creators, and their community aren't that bad, maybe I should join now," would we really want this kind of person around us to go off on someone - anyone, be it admin, mod, or regular - about something else that's fucking pointless?
  3. To be fair, and I apologize for this, but I had to re-read to find your post. The first readthrough I skimmed almost all of it except the whole 'dicks' thing that was the only chance this could've been a really funny thread.
  4. Some folks would justify that it helps you learn, or express creativity, or anything like that. The same people who would say a shooter helps you be aware of your surroundings, or an MMO helps you interact with others in a positive manner. I'm not one of those people, but hey, they might have a point (Insert intended amounts of sarcasm here)!
  5. Getting to us and being the subject of discussion and/or ridicule for laughter and stress relief are two very different things.
  6. Which is why those kinds of people are elsewhere on the internet, we're here, and I would prefer to keep it that way. Even if the whole permissions thing (Scandal? Fiasco? Who cares?) never happened, and those people were, here, they would only be poisoning our little community here and fighting literally everyone about something else that doesn't matter in the slightest.
  7. Ah, but you see that's where you're wrong! All objects have a standard size! And that standardized measurement is: How many block(s) it is! Most items are one block big, but some things (Like miniblocks) are a fraction of a block! Items have no block size and have fractional block size, in the sense that electrons aren't considered to have mass because it is such a miniscule amount. They will not share space with a solid block if given the choice and will move out of that space if there is open air for them to move into. But if they have no open air to move into, the item(s) will stay within the block and share the space while still retaining their miniscule mass without exceeding the block's size. Also they are so small and such a tiny fraction of a block that infinite numbers of items can exist within the space of one block, without the need for compression of any sort, and since they are so small (In terms of mass) to the player, they are gravitationally attracted to players that get within a specific distance of the item(s). Players can theoretically carry infinite items and never become encumbered, but a player character is only so intelligent and can only keep track of so many items at a time, before finally becoming exhausted with keeping track of miniscule items in their bags, pockets, hands, and floating around them, and avoiding new items that they come within distance of themselves with such agility that it is as if the item(s) do not become attracted to the player any longer. The reason chests, bags, and the like increase carrying capacity is not because the player becomes encumbered or runs out of space, but the opposite reason: So many items exist that the player needs help organizing them into groups and keeping track of said items. As for stack limits on items, the Minecraft Player Character's brain works in sets of 8, typically. 64 is usually the maximum number of items a player character can keep track of within one group (8 groups of 8) before starting a new group set. There are certain exceptions for outstanding (Or the opposite) items, but that is just in the nature of the character placing importance (Or the opposite of, as an item is so unremarkable that they have difficulty keeping track of it within a group) on certain items.
  8. True enough, but I find it the funniest when someone ignores the links and then gets angry with me. That's when I really relax and have a laugh.
  9. Well, I don't think overclocking your appliances would help any. Might make the problem worse.
  10. I'm surprised nobody just left a link to the Common Problems and Solutions thread yet. Way easier for all parties (Most of the time), and the other person learns to read stickies!
  11. While I can see someone giving people actual knowledge of the mods and how to use them as being nice, a lot of a new Technic/Tekkit players is not always a good thing, in my (Not quite so) humble opinion. Sure, you get a lot of good nice people brought in from this, but you also get the not-so-good and people who'd gladly flood the Forums and/or Questions.
  12. So friendly after several people took time out of their days just to help him for free! Don't you just love a, "Hey you tried to help me, fuck you," from someone?
  13. They can come in all shapes and sizes, they're fairly common, and they're great for thermal power. I would suggest at least marking where it is so you can potentially return for thermal power if it's in your interest, or at least to harvest basalt for basalt bricks (They are black bricks and look absolutely stunning if used correctly). EDIT: I believe basalt is explosion-proof.
  14. It's a console game, you can just look it up on IGN or something (IGN gave it a 7.5). It's exclusive to the PS3 though, which may cause problems if you don't have one. It's probably cheap, but not free. I got it for free because of the whole hackers taking down Sony fiasco last year, but it should probably be $10 USD or less.
  15. Do you know the WEP/WPA2 wifi password? If not then that may be why you have no internet access. Especially if you don't 'own' it (If you're using a neighbor's wifi they may have done this on purpose), you might not have access to the password which means you can't connect. If you can get the password, you can connect.
  16. I don't... I just... Why is your AV fine? What is your AV? I need more information. Are you using a laptop or desktop? I'm assuming laptop if you have access to multiple networks. Either way, does anyone have access to it other than you? (ie. A parent/company/school that 'owns' the laptop and may restrict certain things such as internet access and usage)
  17. Try Dead Nation. Two-player online or offline co-op enabled, as well as a rather generic story for a dark zombie-horde shoot-em-up game. You have one good source of light (Good is being generous, trust me), which is your flashlight on your gun which shines for maybe 5 feet in front of you and that's about it except for those split seconds when something explodes. Pros: Hordes upon hordes of zombies Hidden loot Customizable armor (Not that it makes too much difference) Hardly-working colored flashlight that makes it more tense Upgradable weapons Various types of zombies (Think Left 4 Dead-esque) Cons: Generic storyline Two characters and that's it Arena sequences where you are trapped until the horde is dead for no reason
  18. Hmm. Have you port forwarded your router at all? Make sure your Antivirus isn't AVG or Norton either, they are infamous for blocking random programs for no reason (Try Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials especially if you're going to be using the Technic Pack). Check the speed of your internet connection and see if your bandwidth is being used by another system or if your internet's speed is slow. If you have wireless internet especially, if you don't have any protection on your router someone else you don't know about could be using it (Especially if you live in a city or apartment complex). In short, Port Forward your router for the programs you're trying to run Check your AV (AVG and Norton will only cause you problems in the long run) Check your internet speed and bandwidth, as well as usage.
  19. Hey kids, are you tired of swinging a pickaxe all day? Too poor to build a quarry? Too lazy to program mining turtles? Try the brand new Mining Flower! Mines and smelts ores! Builds machines! Gathers food! Chops trees! Builds structures! Kills your enemies! Does everything in the game for you so you can sit back and relax! Why should you have to do things in a game? Why work for what you want? Just sit back and watch the show as your minions do everything you could do yourself! Only !
  20. There's an 'unofficial' one I assume some 'fans' just took it upon themselves to make and maintain. Anyways, I don't see any point to creating one. All it'll get is bug reports, and harassment from fans/haters/people with questions who don't wanna read our forums. Not to mention any possible privacy intrusions for any admins/mods.
  21. Java JRE. JRE is Java Runtime Environment and is the standard Java program used to run minecraft. So yeah, Java JRE. I have no clue what Java Web Start Launcher does. :s
  22. Why tell it again? They already supposedly did everything, so that would include checking the stickies and trying those solutions, the first thing someone should ever do.
  23. PC as in Windows? Windows XP/Vista/7? AVG is a bad antivirus for the Technic Pack. Try using Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials - free, don't block programs for no reason, and they are obscure enough to work. And it goes wacko how? We need a little more information here.
  24. AHA! So that's where it is! Time for a diabolical plot for the ultimate heist: Steal the Batcave!
  25. Oh Guthix what have I done? Thousands upon thousands of terrible threads, flooding in through the portal! Quick, everyone out before it collapses and tra- ...Oh well. Goodbye guys.
