um, java has nothing to do with the texture packs. that's how technic and minecraft are programed to find the texturepack. You say you're computer savvy yet, at first glance it appears you're not running technic as an admin and are not logged in as an admin, therefore its probably having a fit because the appdata path is a hidden/system folder and you're unable to browse to it or use the in game shortcut because java is also not running as an admin and gives you that error when it's trying to call up the open folder command. most computer savvy people probably simply browse right to their appdata folder manually and copy/paste packs around like I do without bothering with the in game "open" button. -
heh, speaking of dragons...the END isn't even anywhere NEAR as tough/dangerous as it should be really. I mean if anything I'm more scared of the nether than the end.

Lets try complete individual sentences. In order to receive help you must first learn to communicate properly.

I'm sorry, is the abbreviation CPU too hard? How about processing power. You know, the magic chip inside the big black box that does all the F'ing work in the first place? If you have ALOT of shit going on really fast all of a sudden on the minecraft server, the cpu of the machine may not be able to keep up regardless of how much F'ing ram you got or dedicated to java.

hmm, this may have been a mountain dew error then :/

most efficient way to transport power

I've honestly never experienced bugs with mine. Even adding a pump and lots of direct piping I'd still go geo. -
I've played heavy into both sides now and I seriously don't get where people think EE is so OP over the IC/BC/RC side. There's just as much power and capability on the machine side of the modpack as there is coming out of EE. If only they would add mechs, power armor, chain guns, etc... to the science side then everyone would be all over that in a heartbeat. I think in all, minecraft needs at its heart more creatures/dangers in the world. I'm talking at the vanilla level. It needs that feel you get like when playing terraria. Bosses, dungeons, scary as shit night time. I think without that its really more a box of legos than anything else.
-
I saw you mention that elsewhere. I think if we get to a good science vs magic balance in tekkit/technic it would really play into it having a more hostile environment. I'd almost go as far as thinking millenaire, but I think its more lag intensive in its current form. to really cope.

I agree with buc. Currently there's not enough "magic" on tekkit for a science vs magic battle really. As it stand right now at least on my server is IC/BC vs EE with both sides being allowed RP and RC usage. I think TC is needed to add some balance back to the magic side. Now if you could only throw MoCreatures and Betterdungeons into tekkit you'd have a rip snortin good time :)

you can also use a geothermal, some tanks, and a teleport pipe and then you have a setup you can move, scale, and run multiple quarries remotely if you want at probably the lowest cost possible. -
Please make 3.1.2 the recommended build
Lothos replied to maniacmusic's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
I have to agree with him here as I had the same thought when I was double checking server versions. There were 2 buttons on tekkit, one was client launcher and the other was build 3.1.2 Of course, its also not hard to tell people to click a simple radio button in the launchers options menu to "use dev build" either. -
So, I was looking to make sure I had the latest build on my server and apparently the 3.1.2 is really a dev build, but anyway once I figured that out and folks were popping on we knew what was what. The issue, transmutation tablets appear to function similar to the alchemy bags where you don't place them down. Is this normal on SMP as opposed to placing them down and all sharing the same learned recipes and emc like on SSP? Or is this a mod change that's out in the dev build for tekkit? I was curious about them since I wanted to do a science vs magic thing on our next map go around and was curious if you could have competing magic folks with their own independant transmutation tablet teachings.

technic staff could report the ip of the poster to mojang for permanent banning :)
-
for tekkit it would need to be on the server as well. try their subforum.
-
maybe you shouldn't run a server.
-
ok, thanks. I didn't want to be wrong twice in the same week :)
-
didn't we just have a recommended build update that in fact activated their use? i thought that was one of the points of updating the recommended build the other day.
-
i see nothing wrong with it. you have to develop a rapport with the community that you're not an assclown and know what you're talking about before you should be allowed to comment. questions about the site and/or the client I can also agree with since you have to consider that the dev team would only consider input from people active in the community.

IMO, obsidian pipe feeding into a teleport pipe back to base is probably best. it's how I do my cactus and sugarcane farms.
-
i myself look forward to delving into thaum when i'm done with EE. and even mystcraft now.

well, the question is where are the individual mod authors in their progress to MC1.3 compatibility? In the end technic/tekkit is at the mercy of the mod authors getting up to snuff with the whole smp mandate. And how they adapt their individual packs might dictate how technic/tekkit evolve from there

but I search the bar all the time and I never get lucky :)
