  1. i don't know why, but sphax's packs always lag me twice as hard than my mutated photorealistic hodgepodge
  2. upper case and yeah I updated. Oh well, it works with 1024M just as well with 1G.
  3. That should be a possibility. Say the pressurized block has 8 blocks worth of pressure in it and loses 1 unit every block upward it goes. Even if the start block is encased, when you pop the cork it should flow up as needed. And each block up still flows outward as a normal source block in addition to going up if it has pressure.
  4. I have 3 machines, only 1 is 64bit and only that one will it recognize the G
  5. fyi, the G reference for java only works in the 64 bit. It ignores anything but M's :)
  6. The wiki's getting started is really good. In all fairness, once you have a vanilla base built and then get a generator, macerator, e-furnace, extractor, compressor.... you're good to go on to whatever mod direction technic offers. The magic route is almost entirely different than the industrial path which differs from the redpower/rail/computer path.
  7. Not necessarily since the flow rates aren't changed. You would have to be more careful with mining downward to have a backup route.
  8. this is what gets me. why write the mod at all then if you're that big of a douche? While the permission issue has its grounds, the actions simply mean that he wants compensation even though he's refused such. I don't get what he's after but he still wants people knowing his mod is out there but at the same time forking over people using it? I've also read convo's elsewhere in his defense and I honestly don't see how these morons could defend him. I've said it before and I'll say it again, things made and distributed to the public for free are fair game for adaptation and re-use given proper authorship reference. Therefore, if I made a new mod and portioned out his with mine but made mention of it in the credits or whatever, I don't need his permission.
  9. i always though it would be neat to have liquid source blocks with "XX" blocks of pressure to them so you could get spouts of water, lava eruptions, etc... I assume the oil ones are simply a located source block at a height? Imagine coming across a lava source block while mining that could flow UP!!
  10. He didn't say it DIDN'T use the gpu, he simply said it uses the cpu more intensively then other high-end games out there which tend to rely more heavily on the GPU. The GPU does nothing for you for updating blocks and entities not on the screen at the moment. That's all handled by the cpu.
  11. not the first time I've been wrong :)
  12. Energy Link is in the industrialcraft mod pack. I haven't honestly looked in technic since I stopped playing my tekkit momentarily. I found though it was easier to send BC energy to the quarry via teleport power pipes instead anyway.
  13. My method is quarry - energy link - batbox - 3 LV arrays works like a charm. pop a pipe on and a tp pipe and you've got a good portable mining setup.
  14. well, running the server AND the client on the same machine doubles the workload for java. Why are you so hung up on "keeping the world"? I run a server myself and have no problems making schematic exports for guys I play with to use in their single player worlds.
  15. well, tekkit should be run from a server and not really ssp like I had been doing testing things. That way the load from the machines you've created should be on the server and not your pc. beyond lowering your render distance I think you're stuck based on the amount of "work" you have going on in a small area.
  16. all I hear is "FU I'm lazy, answer my damned question bitch"
  17. probably because it got deleted for being vague and in the wrong section. There's another section devoted to tekkit.
  18. maybe you should not announce to the world you're using a cracked copy of minecraft. yes, yes it WAS a dumb F'ing question.
  19. is it me or is this an IM speak thread? fun fact about english... 80% of good english users come from countries where its NOT the primary language. typically the people that cry "my engrish is da bad" usually are simply lazy and dont feel like making any effective means of communication. You see, even if you would properly make a post in say your local language there are many fine translation plugins for browsers these days that do a really good job of in window translating.
  20. that's weird. I did a fresh technic install yesterday via the launcher and i see the forestryclient.jar in the mods folder. and no, i didn't do anything beyond the launcher.
  21. java isn't a mod. it's an engine for running things and you probably should have it anyway and updated often regardless of MC. And yes, the 64bit is the last choice and its an offline install only.
  22. holy shit torezu, i never knew that shortcut :)
  23. I'll probably just resort to designing specific walls for one machine in the future 3 blocks wide/tall.

    Tekkit :(
