you can't generate ores without the mods installed. You could try installing world generators over tekkit though.

You need to select a program to open .cfg files with. Otherwise you could just open Modloader.cfg and select from there.

Start with the report format, and then list things in your world that would cause lag. "it lags" is not diagnostically useful.

Here's what happened: You downloaded and installed java 7, but left java 6 where it was, so your system still saw java 6 as the default. You needed to either uninstall Java 6, or make a batch to tell the server what to start with.

Uh, dude, it is optional. You had your launcher set to "always use recommended build", and we've been talking abotu the removal of forestry for so long, there is no excuse for this. YOU broke your game.
