I see two glaring problems right off the bat though. 1)you need to manually update your java, you have java 6, you need java 7. 2)You have Norton. Unless you're one of the magical handful who know how to set up an antivirus properly, you should get something else. Avast! and Microsoft Security Essentials work perfectly with almost no fiddling. Norton has a tendency to block the launcher.

This is a problem related to the switch from minecraft to Mojang accounts. Nothing we can do about it right now. It's an actual launcher thing that will need to be fixed, but its low priority since the launcher still works fine.

Whut? Thaumcraft is one of the cleanest, most well balanced mods there is. Also seriously, get a bow. Then enchant it with some of the ridiculously powerful enchantments you can get.

It's likely that Dr. Zhark hasn't bothered to ask for Mocreatures to be removed, and it probably wont be until he either asks for it to be removed, introduces somethign that is particularly buggy, or throws a big tantrum.
