There had been no drop down menu before and the technic in the corner could just as well a reference to technicpack.net. Instead the current system has Technic by technic and tekkit by technic. It gets even worse if you're trying to make someone new to the entire thing. Me and a friend got into it all from a third friend and it was a nightmare to begin using. One of us ended up with technic and the other with tekkit as tekkit comes from the technic site and they sound similar, especially verbally. Technic by technic found on the technic website or tekkit by technic found on the technic website. Yeah it all makes sense once you already know how it all works but to completely new people its a mess.

I think over all the separation of Technic and tekkit could better. Its like when the launcher was released, you went to the tekkit download section and downloaded it and it defaulted to technic. The name similarities and the fact that the whole domain is named after one of the mods helps add to the confusion.

anonymous is on you: you will regret (a short story)

Re: anonymous is on you I thought the first rule of anonymous was that no one could claim leadership or even membership. Here you are doing both. You're the anonymous tool with a name. -
Looking for a small legit tekkit server.

There's Industrial Warfare. Unrestricted pvp server not hosted by a Helen Keller. http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,7307.0.html -
Flying Mod that works with Tekket - FOUND AT LAST!!
Naturam replied to Garenthino's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
I didn't say it was against the rules. I said it was wrong. So down boy. Its both the xray and flying and I already mentioned those alternatives to posting flyhacks. Because he's not just using it on his personal server. He comes here and pimps out the hacks so other people can get them and use them on whatever server they like without the server owners permission. The fact that cheating is a lot harder on tekkit servers is great for us who run servers and want to keep them free from cheaters. I always supported Technic pack against all the people who hated it but this pro-hack stance greatly undermines technics benefit to the minecraft community. Especially when server admins like me work our asses off to keep cheaters away from our servers so everyone gets a fair and balanced environment to play the game in and then the fucking technic team themselves host a safe heaven for people to figured out and post ways to cheat on the server anyway. Its like Technic is shaking my hand and then shooting me in the foot at the same time. -
Or you could always upgrade the computer if you're having lag issues with the game.

Flying Mod that works with Tekket - FOUND AT LAST!!
Naturam replied to Garenthino's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
If you want to fly use a jetpack then or that ring. I don't care what excuse you make. Pimping out hacks it not worth it just to cater to your imaginary scenario of admins who need to hack on their own server. -
Flying Mod that works with Tekket - FOUND AT LAST!!
Naturam replied to Garenthino's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Why does this forum even support hacking in the first place? Its a huge bother for the rest of the minecraft community. Oh and do not try to bullshit us with "I'm only going to use it on my own server" If it was your server then you wouldn't need a fly hack or xray mod. You could just go creative and make all the materials you want. I'd be pretty disappointed if Technic supported minecraft hacks and let their forum serve as some safe harbour for cheaters to operate from. That would pretty much nullify their net contribution to the minecraft community. -
How would you customize EE to make it balanced?

No collectors and a 50% value loss. That might work. -

64 HV solars? That's nearly 33.000 regular solar panels. Let me give you some material data for that 98.000 pieces of glass 98.000 pieces of real coal 262.000 iron ingots 131.000 tin bars 131.000 redstone 425.000 units of rubber 213.000 copper ingots Those are materials that you have to gather up in real time. Mine it And for what? So you can make a diamond every 9 seconds? After mining all those materials you would be sitting on thousands of diamonds to begin with. People make way to big of a fuss over this UU matter business. -

I like IC because of the long advancement path. In classic minecraft once you have a set of diamond armor and a farm you're basically done with the game. Everything else is just fluff. IC on the other hand lets you advance on a much longer path where having a bigger base with more advanced machinery benefits you. EE on the other hand is pretty stumped with mark 1-3 on the same machines and then it just multiplies with itself. People build more and more machines that generate free materials that then generate free machines that generate free materials and machines. its like making your calculator do 2x2 and then just hitting enter and watch the numbers fly. Even in its prime. IC still requires you to gather materials and do actual work. UU matter can give you *some* materials but even getting 1 diamond costs as much power as 2-3 uranium cells. -
Do you have redstone power connected to the furnace to keep it warm?
-
Its still public shaming of users without a basis or any evidence. There's no chance that it could have anything to contribute to the community since it would be nothing more than your personal shit list.

When I ran EE on the server it took 3 days for people to have diamonds in the thousands. In the end I think I'll have to keep EE disabled. -
Currently EE is imbalanced to bloody hell. In a world where diamonds are supposed to be rare and valuable. EE requires tens of thousands of diamonds worth of "energy" to make its stuff. Its just not on the wavelength of any other mod. The alchemy bags granting you 500+ inventory slots with little to no effort. The rings that shoot fire like a machine gun and uses no fuel or ammo. people keep nagging that I switched EE off but bloody hell there doesn't seem to be a single thing in this mod that plays by the rules. Its like they just said "fuck it" and just emptied a truck full of stuff at the game without planning or forethought.

In a business where mods break even when the developers do everything in their power to keep them from breaking. There is no room for mods made to break.

THE OS HOLY WARS! and why they need to be over.

Re: so sick of youtube fags If linux made my computer so efficient that it generated power instead if using it and made the USB ports dispense beer. I still wouldn't use it if it can't run the games I like. Yeah I know Linux and Mac users like to rage on windows because they have some religious affiliation with their Operating systems and setups but if Linux or Mac were so great that they rendered Windows redundant then there wouldn't be hundreds of programs out there for emulating Windows on Linux and Mac. I mean when was the last time someone came asking for a way emulate OSX or Linux in Windows? They don't. Because they already runs windows and so they're set. The very fact that Linux users need so much validation proves how little they think of Linux in the first place. If Linux was the answer then they would just use it and be happy (Like most windows users) but instead they make these shitty videos and start attacking windows users. -
Don't think I'll be touching mods that are purposely rigged with malicious software. Some of these things barely run as it is with the developer making every effort to make it functional. Never mind mods that have purposely been sabotaged.

I've been browsing his forums and Alblaka seems at best cautious about technic and his forums in general are severely hostile towards it. This is an interesting thread: http://forum.industrial-craft.net/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=5662 They wane support a lot when a person mentions using the mod through a mod pack and the thread goes on to claim that technic posts fake donation links for the modders and pocket the donations themselves.

Advantages of using technic launcher for vanilla?
Naturam replied to DemonCrusher36's topic in Cafe Lame
A problem I have with the launcher is when running multiple minecraft sessions at the same time while testing my servers. It works with the vanilla client but if you try running 2 technic launchers at the same time they both crap themselves inside out and die in a bloody mess. -
Is this thread still up? Yeah I disabled EE. Lots of rage, people got over it Yeah fucking right. Like I'm going to use power to macerate cobble when there are deserts full of sand.

What do you mean not very realistic? I got a combustion engine in my car and I refill water about as often as I change sparkplugs and the oil. Its a closed system unless you have a leak. the water is cooled in the fan and circulated. The only engine I can see that fits the in game combustion engine would be the steam engines in the 1800's but the in game steam engines ironically requires no water.
-
A better system would just be to do away with having to supply water to the engines entirely and just let us manage with fuel. One set of pipes to power en engine is enough for me thanks.

Your definition of "Not having rights" is ridiculous. If they could not expel you from a private property at will. That would be a serious violation of rights.
