  1. I'd try MCPC+ - there are install instructions on their website. That said, people have been reporting MCPC+ having performance issues with hexxit. We're looking into this, but MCPC+ does at least function, that much is certain.
  2. Don't post the crash log to here at all, post it to pastebin and link it from here.
  3. Without a crash log, nobody can help you. Also please post this to the hexxit forums. :)
  4. Hey about how long does it take between "resetting" the TPS and it getting really bad again?
  5. As silly as I find some of the drama around that mod, I'm inclined to agree. They don't have an actual policy about modpacks though, so who knows if we'll even be allowed?
  6. Rule #1 is avoid hitting it until the room is clear and it's just you and him. Rule #2 is have a shield or a extra weapon to block when you're out. #3 is that unless the mob is a zombie who isn't holding anything (in which case there's a chance he'll actually pick up your weapon permanently), the weapon will eventually drop on the floor and you can get it again. A sticky/regen rare might well be undefeatable and a sticky/bastion will take forever, but if you've got a good shield and some good moves you should be able to wear him down over time just by clearing the room so it's just you and him, weapon switching to speed up the fight, and staying safe until your weapons redrop. Part of why it's important to clear the room, btw, is that any zombie with empty hands that walks over your redropped weapons could pick them up permanently unti you kill them.
  7. Oh, and don't forget the twilight forest! A lot of the twilight forest's scariest denizens can be taken on with a simple set of iron or diamond armor, and the rewards are well worth it!
  8. A good suit of diamond will get you at least most of the way up a battle tower too, which aren't that bad except the golem. Just make sure you keep an eye out for rare mobs, bring a shield, and have a backup weapon to deal with "Sticky" mobs.
  9. Definitely make sure you grab a shield too.
  10. One running theory is that it's some mob AI code doing it- but that'd mean when the mob's chunk unloads, it should be fine. But you're saying that that's probably not the case because 100% of all players have to be offline?
  11. when you say clean install, you mean without MCPC+?
  12. Hi, You'll notice that only a couple have reported this issue in these forums. Turtles are very rare spawns- I've never seen one. So while the turtle crashes are very common on your map, which has a turtle, it is nonexistant on our map, which has no turtle. I've reported the issue to chocolatin, so you haven't been forgotten. As for the lag issues, based on feedback in this forum, this appears to be an MCPC+ thing. We don't support the mod and we certainly don't test using it. We don't do either of those things specifically because mod support is glitchy/not always functional. In this case, until we figure out where the friction between BD and MCPC is, I would consider using Forge Essentials. If you're playing with people you know, I'd consider using nothing even.
  13. Update your java, it's ancient.
  14. I'm always positive on stuff like that- we've got Twilight Forest, I've got my eye on Atum whenever they release that for modpacks. I like mods with dangerous dimensions. :)
  15. Another fun one is, set Advanced OpenGL: On if available. It will improve framerates if your graphics card can handle it.
  16. Hexxit Essence comes from Hexbiscus flowers, which are quite rare. I want to clarify, btw, that everything you can get from dungeons is absolutely craftable. There may be a handful of exceptions here and there (I put some Better Dungeons mob weapons into dungeon chests and I'm not sure if those are craftable, but they're not that awesome either).
  17. Haha wow. Thanks for this, I'll report it to AlexDGr8r.
  18. Well, other. Singular. The mod works great on our server. Due to a hilarious accident (we have the same IP as an old anarchy server it turns out), our private tests server became searchable on a mod list, and we've had about 10-20 logged in since the release yesterday morning. We haven't had any real problems to speak of, a couple rare crash bugs in BD that I'm gathering up to report to chocolatin, and that's pretty much it. Certainly no serious lag issues aside from worldgen. A few tips: - MCPC+ sounds like it's causing people problems, I'd switch to Forge Essentials until we can get with blood to work out what the issue is. Or heck, turn off PVP and let people go completely nuts, that's what we did on the test server and people are having a pretty good time. Here's a pro tip: we don't support MCPC+, so don't come here to bitch if it doesn't work all that well. - Worldgen is always slow going and we've now added a crapton of worldgen mods. PREGEN YOUR WORLDS if you're looking to invite a lot of people on your server, or deal with the worldgen lag. It's not hard to do.
  19. This means that you don't have 3 Gb available, which is how much the launch.bat script requests. You should edit the script to request less, but if you're that hard-up for memory, no guarantees it will run well.
  20. We watched generikb's video! It's always great to see people getting excited about our packs (I have a nasty egotistical habit of watching random Big Dig LP's sometimes, just endless stoned 14 year olds being all, "oh man that's a lot of ore"), but man, a mindcrack dude? That's super exciting.
  21. There's a downloads link at the bottom of www.technicpack.net/hexxit
  22. java -Xmx3G -Xms2G -jar Hexxit.jar nogui runs the server with 2G allocated and allows up to 3G. Hexxit should be servable to one player with 1G and to a small group with the default 2-3. If you need more, just modify the -Xmx3G -Xms2G flags. If your machine doesn't have 3G you'll probably want to REDUCE those numbers to something that's actually available.
  23. Um, what? You said you couldn't figure out how to add a waypoint, and Gio listed a step-by-step instruction on how to do so. I can't possibly understand why you'd heap abuse on him for that. I also believe there's a couple items (Xeno's Reliquary?) that add teleportation to get back to your bed, and the magic mirror can teleport you to the spot where you entered the cave or building you're currently in (it teleports you to where you were the last time you had the open sky above you).
  24. Launch.bat should work fine unless you've messed with it. From what you're describing, it sounds like you're running minecraft_server.jar instead of Hexxit.jar to start your server. However, the launch.bat we ship with Hexxit is set up to run the correct jar. Please get me a copy of your ForgeModLoader-Server-0.log file. EDIT: Yes that looks fine.
  25. As always, we've got our eye on neat stuff re: new magic, but it won't be ars magica or thaumcraft, it will be cooler, and it is months off. Enjoy the pack as it is without thinking about it too much.
