  1. Depends on who you ask. Most ISPs use advertisement speak when using the term unlimited, always using it as "Unlimited internet access". To them and more importantly the regulators, unlimited just means you don't have a limit as to what time of the day you can use the internet. Since most ISP's are owned by a handful of very large media companies, they've got an incentive to use as much doublespeak as possible to maximize profits across their entire operation by charging as much as they can for as little as they need to give out. There are a few true unlimited ISPs, but they're rare and usually get bought out by the big guys looking to expand their monopoly into an area.
  2. We pay $50 a month for 5-1 cable that is advertised at 25-3 which fails for exactly 24 hours if you pull up a torrent site and will not allow more than 1 netflix stream at a time. I have a friend at the cable office, all of the above is by design... Can't switch either. Satellite is a joke, the phone company's offering is worse than cable, and the only cell provider with any 3g coverage at all is verizon (data caps would put our netflix usage into the $3000/month in overages range...)
  3. Keep an eye out for a blue police box?
  4. If you aren't sure, then you should probably have looked again.

  6. Oh I just LOVE Nascar! My favorite part is when they turn left.
  7. Beer from a bar = bad thing to listen to. Beer here = good thing to listen to.
  8. Sorry beer but you're wrong, my mod isn't in the pack. I'm still working on it as an addon for IC2 to replace forestry functionality, and I probably should get off my arse and finish it.
  9. Tekkit is bukkit. The only way a plugin would be incompatible is if you're grabbing the wrong version for the bukkit release tekkit uses as a base. If they're telling you to come here, just don't mention tekkit. There is no difference between tekkit and a bukkit server hand made with forge and ported mods (really, no difference at all, that is exactly what the technic team does...). Anyway, if you're going to ask someone to write you a plugin, go put it in the modder's metropolis requests section.
  10. Do you have any clue how much effort it would take them to modify forge so it had a specific "load CT3?" config variable? Or the chances it would break compatibility with something? Or even the fact that next update their work would have to be redone anyway for the specific case of a specific version of forge and a specific version of CT3? It's not that they didn't want CT3 in the mod, the fact they still added it after the fiasco of CT2's major duping bugs should be a good enough response to that. It's the fact they couldn't add it in this version. I don't know about right now, but when they released the latest tekkit CT3 was incompatible with the version of forge they used. And don't you dare say they should have kept a compatible version of forge. Your desire for cheaper mass crafting does not trump their desire to release an updated pack with new features and major bugfixes. Just sit your ass down and wait for the next version, CT3 will probably make it's reappearance then.
  11. Will hostiles spawn on pressure plates? Just wondering, because you could cover a 16x16 chunk with pressure plates and use the colored redpower wires to divide it into 16 rows fed into a wireless enabled computer. Have the computer watch for a signal on each of the colors and dispatch a wireless fighting turtle to go run through the row showing a signal.
  12. If you go talk to the actual author of the mod, possibly. That would be the only way it actually gets changed in technic/tekkit.
  13. Looks to me like it's his "who I'd like to bang first" list.
  14. I know it's hard moving away from home, but suicide is never the answer! If travel isn't a problem you could check out a comic/anime/gaming convention. Comicon may be done for the year and PAX is sold out, but it's still the summer con season and even the little ones attract the weirdest people the country has to offer.

    IC2 wrench

Developers are eccentric. Really. From what I've read Dan2000 removed color text from computercraft because, despite it being the number 1 suggestion on the CC forums, he wants his computers to feel like something from the late 80's/early 90's. Azanor is dropping work on a very popular, pretty much feature complete mod for a second time this year because thaumcraft 2 just doesn't feel right. Eloraam seems to go through phases of working intently on one feature set for a bit then flitting off to focus on something else. Most mods have something about them that doesn't seem right to a normal person. Be it a gameplay feature that makes things harder than it needs to be for some arbitrary reason, an item or block that has nothing to do with the rest of the mod, or an easter egg that many people with removed (I'm looking at you millenair hall of fame...). Not to mention the modders who are mentally deficient. Programming skill tends to only touch those who have a couple neurons crossed in their noggin.
  16. IC2 cables can be covered with construction foam then painted. Not as many texture choices, but it's better than nothing and more explosion resistant.
  17. Tekkit is bukkit with forge and some mods added in. Mcmmo is a plugin, you use plugins with tekkit exactly like you do with vanilla bukkit.
  18. Nothing prevents it, take a look at your log files and see if there is an error.
  19. Yup, you do. There is a pipe that will balance tanks fluid levels like you tried to do with the cobble pipes, but it's SSP only.

    WARNING!

That's a whole lot of fucking going on, are we sure he didn't just open a porn site without proper protection? Minecraft: Punching for wood, a XXX parody. Staring Steve "Diamond Drill" LongJohnson, Creeper McLargeHuge, Pandora Mountains, Lisa Netherrack, and Jill StRedstone. Premise: Waking up in a strange land, Steve must protect the women he finds from Creeper's attempts to blow up all over them. If he doesn't save their deposits for himself, he'll never learn the secret of unlocking the portal to the land of the Enderwomen.
  21. Adfly link bad. Are you seriously trying to make money off a blueprint?
  22. BC piping is cheaper, RP tubes can get whole stacks flowing easier. I prefer both, since they have different strengths and weaknesses. As for quarries, mining turtles with a filter unloader setup.
  23. A TNT cannon pointed towards your invasion bridge. Personally I think tnt cannons are a waste, 7 iron and a redstone gets the job done much easier and without wasting half your ammo.
  24. Patent number: 6857067 Application number: 09792045 Put that into: https://ramps.uspto.gov/eram/patentMaintFees.do Hit the "Get Bibliographic Data" button. It looks like they petitioned after the patent expired, paid the fees, and got it reinstated. So the image is legit, but old data that is no longer relevant.
  25. Then use reinforced glass or even bedrock for the side walls. Not as pretty, but no one's getting through it. Yes I was killed by high end EE items, but that's not the point. The point is he was able to come to our base and cause damage. He could have come to out base by bridge and used a bow, or built a quick tnt cannon and wiped out our base. The point of my rant is if you're going to have a building competition, make sure it can't devolve into a griefing competition.
