Ok thanks for giving me them anyway. Looks like you fixed your problem. Next time just give a more detailed description from the get go and people will be help to help you a lot faster.

No problem, Heisenberg's job here is done.

Ok, make a bin folder, and put in your modpack.jar, and the Forge json file renamed as version.json, then compress mods config and bin folders (as well as anything else) into modpack.zip. It needs to be named modpack.zip.

Try increasing the PermGen size in Technic settings. Also try to be a bit less vague, specs don't matter if we don't see forge logs or anything.
-
Oh, thanks. That;s helpful!

Ok, well it's not that hard if you know how to read. Legacy versions are marked with a star, but make sure it's for the right version of Minecraft.

I recommend MCPC+, as even if you don't use Bukkit I find it to be more stable and efficient thanks to Spigot.

That download seems corrupted. Is there any way to set up a mod pack manually with your hosting company? Do you have FTP (File Transfer Protocol)?

Rule about use of abandoned mods in a pack?
Amaxter replied to The_Fireplace's topic in Platform Pagoda
Yes but what this all comes down to is not a legal matter, but a personal one. If one wishes to stay in good terms with modders then follow their rules. If not, then do what you want. No modded is going to come knocking on your door with a shotgun if you don't get permission for redistributing their mod, so do what you please. -
Yeah lol, sometimes I was worried that 256 megabytes wasn't enough PermGen even, it was insane. I still have it up here if you want to take a look.

Wow, my mod pack used to be like yours. I had 180 mods in 1.5.2 at one point and the startup time was at least three minutes on most computers. It worked, and it was awesome, but it was really unstable and CPU demanding. Now I have a 1.6.4 pack with 75 mods and it runs like butter.
-
Also there's not going to be any sort of "click and drag" solution. Ever. If you want to make a modpack, I suggest you know what you're doing. There's plenty of YouTube videos and guides. I suggest you take a look.

Ok, you're the expert, but my point was that he can do whatever he likes, and I was just giving him a recommendation on dealing with mod permissions. -
Hey, I don't blame him. I play on the computers at my school whenever I'm bored. However while the laptops at my school aren't powerhouses by any means they have quad core Intel i5 ivy bridges and dedicated Nvidia 660's. They seem to run most mod packs. Point is, Intel integrated GPU's generally are pretty bad, so you might be boned here.

We'll under certain licenses I'm pretty sure they can. But then I'm no lawyer but I still like to keep a good reputation with modders, and while providing credit isn't totally necessary I like to do it anyway. -
Before the years end? By the way people are making it sound, I think we'll have an update in a couple of weeks.
-
I understand how it works but I'm not sure how exactly it will be implemented, whether it will work similar to profiles in the normal minecraft launcher or whether we'll have to rename our version jars something like modpack.jar. Will the versions folder contain the profiles for all the mod packs in the Technic Launcher or will it have completely separate .minecraft folders like it does now?
-
With Technic support for 1.6 on the horizon I've begun work on updating my mod packs to 1.6.4, but I'm uncertain about something. I'm pretty experienced when it comes to making mod packs, and I know the versions folder contains the jar, but how will that work with the Technic Launcher? Say for example I have a Forge version with a .json and jar in it's own folder in versions, can I simply use that in the mod pack, or do I have to rename the jar modpack.jar? Do I delete the .json, or edit it? Just wondering if any one knows the answer to this, as I would like to quickly update shortly after the launcher does.

Yeah, the box has grown exceptionally hungry of late.
-
Well if people like it they will +1 and slowly but surely your modpack will rise above the trash.

Technic doesn't enforce any rules on Modpack licensing nor do they accept responsibility. If a modder decides to sue you, then that's your problem. If a mod author abandoned the mod, I would still provide a link to the original page, but you can do what you like. -
Yes, it must be masterfully and skillfully planned. Before our target even knows it's being preyed upon it will be caught up and consumed into the Whale Box, never to see the light of day again.

No, what we need is a cage for all these kids on the forums.

Well Better With Forge is almost complete I heard from a birdie of mine.

I'm bored, maybe I'll actually make this!
