Klausar Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Can you guys tell me what Items/Blocks I should deactivate to prevent duping and griefing? Thanks in advance.
Backplague Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 RM Furnace, all explosives (TNT, catalysts, nukes), red matter tools, mining laser, destruction catalyst. Basically all items that can break massive amounts of blocks at once.
The_DarthMoogle Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Also, for duping, Computer Craft disk drives Black Hole Band Void Ring Crafting Table II/III
Backplague Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 CC disk drive? How the wordidontwanttosayrightnow?
po5 Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 CC disk drive? How the wordidontwanttosayrightnow? You can make corrupted items with that that doesent expire in the condenser. For example you can corrupt Dark Matter or a Diamond with it. Real easy too.
Klausar Posted July 21, 2012 Author Posted July 21, 2012 Okay Thanks, what about the CC Computers? I really want to use them, but I heared that they cause lags, if I only hand 1 computer to every user and lets say, 20 computers run at a time, will it cause lags?
Sp0nge Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Kinda depends on what they program into them. But RP got computers, they are way better.
Sp0nge Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 If you shiftclock items inside of it, it dupes. Pretty simple dupebug that easy to use.
Klausar Posted July 21, 2012 Author Posted July 21, 2012 Okay and since the weapon mod is in tekkit again, will plugins like worldguard, which protect me from creeper and tnt explosions also protect me from explosions like the cannon or nukes?
matejdro Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Worldguard does not protect nuclear reactor explosions, so probably protects only vanilla explosions.
Dodge34 Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 I would also suggest disabling buildcraft pipes at least, they can be used to get stuff out of locked chests and there's nothing to protect you from that, and they cause massive lag due to the way they handle items, they are mostly made for SSP world. You can do exactly the same thing with RedPower2 tubes and it works a lot better, only thing I think RedPower2 tubes can't get is oil but its not needed for RedPower2 tubes cause they work on bluetricity (not sure if correct word here) The other exception is probably Quarry, but you can get stuff from a Quarry with tubes and a retriever or filter from RP2.
Phanatic Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 why would u get rid of tubes.... thats like the core element of tekkit ffs. if you want to play it completely safe just get rid of EE and you will be okay for the most part. otherwise learn how to block specific items, like the destruction catalyst and nukes also pay attention to what the_darthmoogle said about dupe
Iscamania Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 why would u get rid of tubes.... thats like the core element of tekkit ffs. Read the post again, he's promoting tubes. He doesn't say anything about getting rid of that, instead he said to get rid of the buildcraft pipes. ;)
Phanatic Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 oh well i still like buildcraft pipes everyone uses them
Dodge34 Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Yup in fact I've just finished my first RP2 sorting machine with RP2 tubes that lead to every chest needed, pretty awesome, I've followed DireWolf20 tutorial (part of his Lets' Play series in season 3 episode 9) it looks like a lot better than doing the same with BuildCraft. and there's no risk of clogging or drops everywhere cause if the system is jammed, the machine just wait till there's a valid inventory space available. Getting ready to get a buildcraft quarry but will get the stuff with RP2 tubes and drop everything in a ender chest linked to another one to get the stuff sorted back at my main base.
matejdro Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 What I really don't like about RP is lack of documentation. Most other mods have wikis with extensive description of items. But with RP, all machines are cramped to a one wiki page with several sentences for each machine.

Yup quite a challenge for the ones that want to use it, but there's are some good video tutorials on youtube, I've even seen a RP2 tree farm tutorial which could be one of my projects later
