Stoopid Newbie Forum Question

I'm not going to bother explaining what methods I've tried. I'm obviously doing it wrong.

So, what's the best way to embed an image in a post?

For uploading stuff here, I use imageshack. So you upload an image, and then view it. Click on "links to share this image", and copy the direct link.

Then just click insert/edit image and put in the url. Should work.

Imgur.com will give you a pre-bbcoded line that you can just paste into your post.

Reviving this thread, as I feel it is the closest I can get to my question. (recycling is important!)

I've tried and succeeded in uploading an image to my avatar, but its too long/big. How do you guys resize it?

If a mod feels that this action is wrong and kellers me, then I guess I wont need to work for my avatar

Can you not just open it up in paint?

Because your avatar can be dropped in straight from your hard drive.

imgur.com lets you resize images you upload to it if you check the "edit" box next to them.

Cropping the enormous white spaces out would help it as an avatar. Overall though, it's not an amazing one to use.

OT: i use tinypic not has fast has other uploaders but i like it.
