Xanice Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 There is a slot in solar panels and I was wondering what it was used for. Quote
Synthetica Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Don't know for sure, 'cause I never use it, but if I remember correct, it's for batteries. Quote
The Merchant of Menace Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Yeah, it's for charging things up. Quote
DemonCrusher36 Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Mind you, the charge is slow though. Quote
Pulse95 Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 A solar panel must be hooked up to a batbox with tin cables(for the best results) it has to be no more than 20 cables away/ It gives you free energy/ ONLY WORKS DURING THE DAY. For the advanced solar panels (from the advanced machines addon) they must be hooked up with the correct voltage cables for example the MV solar array outputs 64 eu/t so you need gold cables or higher. I don't understand why this reply is here. He was asking about the slot. Quote

gugglle Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I only imagine how much it would take to charge something up at 1 eu/tick lol. Quote
Xanice Posted March 11, 2012 Author Posted March 11, 2012 btw... glass fibre cables are the only way to go xD Quote
killerx09 Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 btw... glass fibre cables are the only way to go xD Tin cables work find as long as you don't go above 40 distance. (And using the default solar panels. They can't take advanced ones.) Quote
Synthetica Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 I only imagine how much it would take to charge something up at 1 eu/tick lol. 10 000 ticks for a battery = 5000 seconds = +/- 1.5 hour. Quote
7rex Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 There are 20 ticks in a second so it would be: 10,000 ticks for a battery = 500 seconds = 8.3 minutes So almost a full Minecraft day to charge a battery. Quote

gylfen94 Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 the bottom slot is for charging a battery/energy crystal. And the bottom part is for draining battery Quote
Metathiax Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 btw... glass fibre cables are the only way to go xD Tin cables work fine for up to 5 solar panels given that a bat box has 5 input sides you can connect 25 that way no reason to use diamonds to get power from solar save glass fiber for geothermal or nuclear Quote

It's about packet size, not about total current. Quote
