Description of Problem: When I try to modify the minecraft jar located here: \AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher\tekkit\bin . I get the error message Corrupt Minecraft re-installing Minecraft jar. Is their any way I can keep this from happening? P.S.: With what I am doing the minecraft jar files are already with it.

The mod I am installing includes the client and would be to much to sort through.

Wait... the mod you're using redistributes Minecraft.jar?

You have 5 minutes to explain why you're not pirating Minecraft before I force you to :frogout:.

Whut? That doesn't even remotely make sense. If it already included the client, you wouldn't need to add it to anything, it would run on its own.

Protip, if that's what it is, then the launcher is going to chew it up and spit it out EVERY TIME.

I'm not pirating Minecraft it just that the mod includes the Minecraft jar so all you have to do it replace the Minecraft jar.

Then you're screwed. Your options are to play it without technic, or dig through the whole thing and figure out which pieces are modded.

out of curiosity, what mod is this?

Anyone?

The 'problem' you have is that Tekkit doesn't modify the minecraft.jar, it loads the contents of modpack.jar over the top of the vanilla minecraft.jar. The minecraft.jar that you have when you have Tekkit installed is the one you get directly from minecraft.net.

There is no mod (especially on the MCForums) that gives out a pre-modded minecraft.jar. The reason why is minecraft.jar is the very contents that you agree not to distribute when you agreed to Mojang's license agreement if/when you purchased Minecraft. This 'mod' you are using is piracy in regards to Minecraft itself.

I would also like to point out that this is NOT a bug, and if it were you didn't use the bug report format.

What say you fuzzy britches?

I'm not a pirate we already disscused that. read!

Here's the deal bucko, you've given us jack shit to work with. You declined to even give us the name of the mod you're trying to install. So until you give us the kind of information we need, you can fuck right off.

Cmon guys, we know he's not a pirate because he SAID he isn't. He just happens to be trying to install a "mod" he won't reveal the name of and happens to look, walk, and quack like a duck. If we can't trust the word of some random guy on the internet, who CAN we trust?

If we, for a delusional moment, assume this isn't a convoluted attempt to pirate Minecraft, but rather an actual mod distribution, I recommend not using a mod written by someone so stupid or arrogant as to just give you the client instead of an actual mod, because how in the hell would you be expected to use OTHER mods if that were the distribution method? One installation of Minecraft for each mod? Holy hell.

Even Flowerchild doesn't try to go that far to keep other mods off his hemline.

I can totally see how a modmaker might, for simplicity's sake, release a completely ready, playable version of their mod, to reduce the confusion of players. Not saying it isnt piracy, but i can see how this might be a real thing. If we could find out WHAT THE HELL op is trying to install, we could probably help, mostly by finding the version that doesn't come prepackaged.

... I will be surprised if anyone chooses to help you with that.

I was like, well maybe it's not what it sounds like, better google it... uh huh... Welcome to MineGrief, we hope to become your main source for Minecraft griefing/hacking/cheating... MineGrief provides the tools needed to grief....

Okay yeah it is what it sounds like.

Honestly, since it does include hacking, I'm thinking this topic is against the board rules perhaps?

See one of the services that site offers is what made me dislike lazy pirates, it's a simple Google search.
