czzarr
I really want to get into using the food plus mod, but i really hate how combining 2 pieces of bread and a steak gives less hunger than a normal steak. I dont know about its saturation, but imo that seems mathematically illogical. i know i know, you're probably saying its food, just roll with it. so my question for those of you that have played around with the mod, what foods are the best for hunger/saturation? A list would do nicely but whatever is cool. there are sooo many foods i dont think anyone would actually come up with a list. Anyways thanks for any and all suggestions and hope it helps others. Just an fyi, i did scour google for this info for about 10-15 mins and didnt find any information about hunger/saturation for the foods, and in fact on the MCF post for the mod, the mod author states that he wanted people to discover what foods are the best, but that he would be open to compiling a list. Maybe we can help do that? lol. Kalbintion
Well, we could just decompile the code (since there isn't a public source of it all) and look at the values for each food item...
bear100000
Or eat bread and Nutella it fills half your hungar. But take a lot of crafting to make.
Turgle
Hotdogs are fairly easy to make and also restore 5 hunger (half the bar). If you'd like something more simple to make I'd suggest maybe Chips or any variants of them. Chips themselves restore 4 hunger (same as Steak), which is good considering they come from Potatoes. Loader
Fried rice! Mmm. It's not a mod that's greatly about efficiency, that's true, but when another player comes over to visit and you offer them baked potato for the billionth time, don't be surprised if they finally snap and shank you. It goes some way to prevent that I suppose. iEmeraldGolem and czzarr

czzarr
Fried Rice Final - 8 - 0.6 (Not sure what this is exactly compared to the above one) Possibly this is the dev's final version of the food? and that the one above was a working version only? regardless the hunger and saturation levels are shown for both, just need some testing for these. Kalbintion
Yeah, not entirely sure. My first thought was maybe the food item had multiple eating portions, similar to how cake works, but only in the inventory. And that the final bite gives you more food back than the previous ones. Wouldn't know why this is the case but it was a thought. These "Final" variants should exist in the food plus creative tab per the code and have an ID being read from the config file so they definitely exist in-game along with their non-final variants.
