  1. 3.1.3 is hardly worth upgrading to, IMO. This happens to all servers, even vanilla. It's normal internet behavior.
  2. That would be very much appreciated, Andrew. That's probably a ping issue or something on your end. I went to your bed and found the refinery without getting kicked. Do you see any error messages? Either way I removed it and placed it in a chest.
  3. This happens to me as well. It sounds like a ping (network distance) issue, not a software issue. I don't think there's anything you can do besides having them get a faster connection.
  4. Title: Wooden waterproof pipe takes liquid from tank but doesn't transfer it to stone waterproof pipe Version: 3.1.3 OS: Linux on server, Windows on client Java Version: 1.7 Description of Problem: Title says it all. I have a wooden pipe used to take oil out of a tank and into a refinery. If I attach a redstone engine to it to make it work, it drains the oil from the tank but it does not output the oil into the pipe. The oil simply becomes lost. Here's my setup: (Yes I know the RS engine is inactive - I took the RS torch out to avoid losing all my oil to this bug.) I've tried replacing every component but the problem persists. Even after a server restart. Error Messages: None.
  5. You can't fix it without downgrading to 3.1.2. If you play on 3.1.3 servers then don't downgrade. Just use the IC2 wiki for now until the next version of Tekkit comes out with a fix along with two or three new problems. Offtopic: I couldn't help but notice what a nice dress you have there, Eronae.
  6. We always joke when someone asks for an ETA. The Tekkit team don't really say much to us in the mortal realm, not even the highest ranked moderators who also often make jokes out of people who ask. In other words: nobody knows and there's no way to find out. Personally, I believe they'll skip upping 3.1.3 to recommended because of all the bugs. Perhaps the next version.
  7. The official ETA is at the end of the next lunar eclipse.
  8. You can't ban MAC addresses. A MAC address is an unique hardware identifier for a device and it is abstracted to the internet. This guy explains it better: clickity
  9. As the other guy said, Tekkit uses NEI which is just a better version of TMI. If you want to give players item spawning, simply give them the permission to /give. NEI uses server commands in multiplayer so just give command permissions. You may want to give your admins /time and /weather as well so they can use the buttons on the upper left.
  10. Ban everything from EE (as in, remove the jar from the mods folder) unless you want to have hordes of 12 year old players flying around in godmode and creativemode mercilessly destroying your world within the first 12 hours of your server's life. Other than that, here's my TekkitCustomizer config file with comments in bold. Delete the comments if you plan to copypaste the file into your server. EDIT: Replace the smiley faces with two colons. EDIT 2: Keep in mind that my server is geared towards PvP and griefing of certain areas. If you don't want this then you probably want to disable nukes as well. Also, Balkon's weapons don't respect claimed land (as of 3.1.3 using both WorldGuard and Towny) so unless you want to rely on manual moderating to prevent things like spawn killing, ban all Balkon's weapons.
  11. I don't know about the OP's list, but the ones I posted truly deserve to be publicly shamed.
  12. Ahhhh. Makes sense. I installed DD-WRT on it because the standard firmware wasn't robust enough. Guess that was too much for its poor little RAM to handle over long periods of time.
  13. I don't know about Spigot, but "1.3.2-R0.2" means the second beta build for CraftBukkit 1.3.2. R1.0 would be the first recommended build, R1.1 would be the first beta released after R1.0, etc.
  14. You'll probably get flamed by moderators for potential slander, but what the hell. Here's mine: geirhardr (caught speeding without quantum panties) jojoblackops (hardcore griefer and rule twister) REALMS_MASTER (alt acct of blackfang99 below) chaffmeister44 (speedhacked long distances to crash the server) chikkenslayer12 (PvP aura hacks, confirmed using Factions pvp messages) blackfang99 (confessed to using Nodus) I have more but sadly I don't have the exact ban reasons and I don't want to flag anyone inappropriately.
  15. I used to host from home and eventually moved to a VPS. Here's my personal experience: Home hosting: + You are the boss of every aspect of your server. Every time something bad happens, you know who to slap across the face. - You are limited by your area. Over here, the fastest ISP provides 10Mbit upstream which is pushing it for a 15 slot server. - Power outages and storms mean big trouble. Downtime, corrupted worlds, angry players, etc. - If you have a cat, you have to cat-proof every power switch related to your server. - Can't go on vacations without the guarantee of hotel internet and a laptop that can play Minecraft. - Can't go on vacations without triple-chacking that you can SSH into your network from the outside. - Commercial routers aren't designed to take this kind of load and "build up" slowness over time, so you have to restart them periodically. (I never got a correct explanation for why this happens but it has been the case with every router/modem combination I've ever owned, so I hope someone can shed some light) VPS: + You don't have to deal with network problems. + Most of them give you a 100Mbit line so you don't have to worry about bandwidth usage or limitations. + Storms and kitties aren't a problem. - They cost money, which means at certain points you'll have to borrow money from your mother or whore out your server's integrity for donation money. - You have to play around with different VPS's before you settle. A lot of them oversell their machines. A general rule for VPS shopping is: you get what you pay for. Avoid anything cheaper than $20 a month. - Some (mine at least) don't give enough advance notice on scheduled system restarts, so you have to check your email periodically for "we're doing a xen update tonight gaiz, plz gracefully shut down your servers to prevent data loss". And, hope that you don't have to set your alarm at 2AM to manually shut your server down, wait 15 minutes, and then make sure it restarted properly. Yes, that happened to me. The reason I switched was because my ISP introduced a data cap which added $60 to $100 to my monthly bill. I would still be hosting from home because of the money problem. It's hard to get donations if you run a survival server and don't want to give anyone advantages. You can also rent a dedicated machine, but I haven't done that yet.
  16. UPDATE: new rule, no spawnkilling. Please don't spawn kill! There's nothing wrong with quarries. This sounds like either a bad chunk problem or a really bad ping problem. Scan your base for any lag inducing items. As for their OPness, I agree, but the goal isn't to make the server purely vanilla. There has to be some automation as well. Originally we meant to ban quarries in favor of RP2 quarries, but only a baby's handful of people have the knowledge and time to build those. Not to mention the fact that they're bugged and crash clients if not built 100% to spec - and there's no spec sheet anywhere.
  17. Let me get this straight: your friend has the same IP as you? That's impossible unless he lives next door and is stealing your wifi signal. Anyone in the world can access any IP address provided you forwarded the port properly. Distance doesn't matter.
  18. What he said. Disable it in the config (bukkit.yml). Then download the plugin LagMeter for more detailed readings.
  19. EE... isn't cheating? Okay boys, I'm outta this thread.
  20. Can someone confirm the floppy disk dupe bug, the /stop virus, and the loader/unloader dupe bugs listed above? I have to disable these if they're real, but I want some confirmation. A forum thread would be nice. The disk drive dupe was fixed on the first release of Tekkit 3. Did they break it again or something?
  21. I'm sorry, I modified the wrong files. Can you try now? This isn't a regular unbanning, you see, you were banned before the server reset. I copied some files over but deleted a lot of them, and the plugin I used for bans did not recognize your old ban. It should be fixed now. If not then I don't know what the problem is. Thanks for the thread bump. However, I think insulting me in my own thread without specifying a reason is what's really idiotic.
  22. ccSensors is busted both Tekkit 3.1.2 and 3.1.3, so don't bother. The sensors themselves work fine but the computer interface for them is broken.
  23. My players already have rock crushers and melee turtles. No time to explain/refund everyone properly.
  24. I've run a server with both versions and I say stay on 3.1.2, for the following reasons: 1) Most servers on the server list forum are 3.1.2 so people are more likely to be running 3.1.2 clients. Nobody likes to update and downdate to switch servers. 2) Most people ARE running 3.1.2. I get more failed connection attempts from 3.1.2 clients than successful connections from 3.1.3 clients. 3) Server 3.1.3 has several issues. There's a post on the forum with fixes for them, but you have to be sure to get them all right. 4) Clients with 3.1.3 cannot see IC2 recipes on NEI, and this can only be fixed with a patched client, which you can't expect people to do. 5) Given all of the above, the actual updated features aren't that amusing. Except for melee turtles, perhaps, but I would still downgrade my server if only I could. I'm hoping Tekkit will update again soon.
  25. Those are the mods that were updated for 3.1.3. You're running Tekkit 3.1.2 client on a 3.1.3 server. When you launch Tekkit, go to Options and make sure you either select development builds, or manual build selection with 3.1.3 selected.
