  1. I've had a good experience with NFO Servers. I host only a vanilla server now but I used to host a Tekkit server in the same machine and there was little lag. I've been told it's a bit overpriced, but I've had bad experiences with other VPSs in the past. So if you want safe, check these guys out.
  2. I've gotten up to quantum level on EE-free servers several times in only a few days of hard work. Running around wearing anything but top gear makes me feel naked and ashamed so I don't get out of my cave until I have at least full Qsuit, nanosaber, and a few mining lasers.
  3. Same problem here. I've noticed this on two servers, one 0.52 and one 0.53.
  4. I did some testing in single player. A fully charged MPS with all the upgrades installed and everything set to maximum will not survive you through a nuke explosion, while a Qsuit will make you completely impervious (not a single heart lost) to it. However I can see myself using the flying/hovering features as they're easier on the hands than the IC2 jetpacks. Also, the MPS multitool is my new best friend.
  5. Same problem in single player. Like someone already said, it's just the textures.
  6. I know both the Nanosuit and Qsuit have been nerfed several times since Classic. Now there are two new armors: Exo armor from Factorization and the Modular Powersuit in the latest version. Are any of these two a match for Nano or Qsuit, in terms of protection and durability? I know that both the Exo and the MPS are configurable but I haven't played around much with either.
  7. This is an interesting subject, so allow me to butt in. I have the same stance on my server. Hearing it from another owner who claims to play legit finally made me realize how "too good to be true" that sounds to regular players. Even though I haven't spawned a single item for myself since my server has been up, people will never accept the idea of someone having /give and /god and not using them for personal gain. Specially when you raid them - I've lost many players by raiding them legit. So, to avoid these issues in my second server, I ran it with dual accounts. One for administrating and one for playing. It worked out smoothly. I strongly recommend this method.
  8. Привет, товарищ. :)

  9. Does that mean a server can just ban items by changing item IDs in the config and not require client modifications? There's a server that I play in that's having trouble banning items. I don't know what plugin he's using but you can craft banned items via the automatic crafting table.
  10. No, but you can write your own program. Simply have a variable count up every second and save itself to a file in the floppy.
  11. Scrapbox factory. Infinite scrapboxes = infinite minerals, diamonds, cake, among other useless things. It needs a lot of power to run, however. Search up "VideoBoy" on the forum and look for the thread describing the machine in detail. His design is rather innovative. After you sort that out, well, good luck managing the ratios. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you soon will.
  12. My primary goal is always more solar panels, but I keep other (faster) generators around for when I need a boost. First regular generators, then geothermals (fed with lava cells from nether), and when I have enough resources, nuclear. After a bit of playing I end up with two or more full MFSU and no need for nuclear power, so I hook the nuke straight into a mass fabricator and rely entirely on solar for everything else. I keep amassing solar panels either until the server disappears or until the admins find my stash of stolen uranium and I get banned.
  13. I'm having trouble setting up a forcefield. I'm 90% sure it's not working due to a glitch, because I've been using MFFS forcefields for quite some time and the exact same setup I have here works fine in single player. In fact, it worked ONCE in this server, but then I took down the core and projector for repositioning, then it stopped working entirely. I've tried placing them in different spots in my house but I always get the same result. It might be an issue with the server I'm playing on, but perhaps it's a more common glitch and someone has a fix. Long story short: if you install a forcefield and then remove it, you can't make another forcefield in that area. I don't know how big this "area" is but it's quite big. I've already ruined three different areas this way. The ruinage seems to persist through server restarts. Here are some pictures. Core and area projector: Core GUI: Projector GUI:
  14. Title: MFFS multiplayer issue: "Linked to core: false" Version: 0.5.2 OS: Windows 7 on client; server is not mine so I don't know Java Version: Java 7 on client Description of Problem: MFFS doesn't work in multiplayer. I try to connect an Area Projector to a Forcefield Core and I get this (on the area projector): It says "Linked to core: false", however it does show the core's power level and the core says there is 1 projector connected. The projector lights up when provided with redstone but the forcefield is not created. This setup works in single player, however the same setup doesn't work on multiplayer. It could be an issue with the server I'm playing on so I need someone to confirm. If anyone can get a forcefield to appear in multiplayer, please post a picture of your setup here so I can try and copy it. Error Messages: N/A Error Log: N/A
  15. Oh. Silly me, not attempting a craft. Thank you very much!
  16. I like to play using multiple accounts simultaneously for various utility purposes on multiplayer servers. I figured out how to launch multiple instances (run technic-launcher.jar directly) but others like me may not have stumbled upon that. Everything works without problems with 4 instances running at once (tested with both Tekkit Classic and Lite), so I don't see why the EXE launcher purposefully cripples this behavior.
  17. I "noobed out" while trying to learn how Steve's Carts works, and I ended up with two "incomplete carts" because I broke the cart assembler before completing the cart. I did this in a survival server and I spent quite a bit of resources on the carts. Is there any way to complete them? Thanks in advance.
  18. My favorite Tekkit Lite server doesn't have ComputerCraft enabled, so I've decided to take up Forth programming for RP2's computer. I set up a nice single player world for learning and testing, however, I can't seem to find the Forth boot disk in the creative inventory or in NEI. Did RP2 change something since its 1.2.5 version or is there an item ID conflict in Tekkit Lite that cancelled out the disk?
  19. +1 to this server for having lots of players and an actual community. It's not every server you go to that you stumble upon players building at every corner. Please do get a faster computer, though, the block lag can get annoying.
  20. What I gave you was a lot more than what I told my current employer, and I've been working in the same company for five years. This is a GAME. You're forcing people to pointlessly elongate their applications with generic content. Hell, some of them are as long as mine. Let me double-space my application, then look at it again.
  21. Name: Zash Age: Old enough, but not too old. Country and Time Zone: GMT-6 (U.S. central) IGN: zashchitnikov (add my sister as well if you can: meghan403. We play well together) Hobbies: Mathematics, history, politics, linguistics, electronics, and of course Minecraft. Tell us a bit about yourself: My name is Zash. Nice to meet you. Mods you are proficient in: Besides a standard basic understanding of all the mods in Tekkit Classic (except EE2 which I actively boycott), I'm particularly proficient in ComputerCraft and RedPower. If you're asking for a profession, I'm a frame airship engineer. Past histories on servers: I was the owner of a now defunct Tekkit Classic server. I had a good experience there, however I no longer have time to maintain my own server. I'm looking for my first Tekkit Lite "home" server. What company do you want to join: I'll get back to you on this after I'm inside. What do you like about this server: I like the general idea portrayed in the OP, in particular your 'light griefing' approach. I'm hoping the actual server lives up to it. Why do you want to join this server: I don't want to join THIS server. I want to join A server. I really can't tell how this server compares to others without actually playing it. Why should we let you join this server: Because you're recruiting and I'm applying. Oh, and because I'll be copypasting all of my professional quality ComputerCraft software (door locks, airship autopilots, artificial intelligence for turtles, etc.) and sell it to your players. What is your greatest achievement in tekkit: A speedy frame quarry.
