I think there's an option to disable the 'annoying' recipes, and keep the cool stuff like the advanced drill.

Why do mod authors like GregTech's and Forestry's agree to have their mods be on other mod packs such as FTB but not Technic/Tekkit? What's so evil about Technic that people take such measures to prevent their mods from being included? I never understood. Back when I hosted a Tekkit server, my players suffered greatly when Forestry was removed.

The server was permanently shut down on January 7th. Reasons for shut down: No time. I don't have time to properly maintain both my vanilla server and this server. I can do one, but two is a pain in the rear. Bugs. Tekkit has too many bugs, both by itself and with Bukkit plugins. Bugs keep piling up. Every time I fix one, another arises. I know everything has a solution, but I just don't have the interest I used to have, possibly due to the following 3 points. Disillusion. I envisioned a 'perfect' Towny/Tekkit server but I could never achieve the finer details due to bugs and limitations placed by plugins. This isn't the server I dreamed of. No players. The community died. There were 5 players online AT MOST at any given time, compared to 15 as it was the norm at one point. For a community to thrive, it must have leaders that promote community, and the two people majorly responsible for keeping the community alive for a large part of the server's life (HalfThere and fartdongs420) left the server some time ago. I don't have the "people skills" to do this myself for an extended period of time. System strain. Like I said, I run two servers. Rekkit was taking up A LOT of resources just running with no players on and my vanilla server was suffering because of it. This was the cherry on top of this sour cake of a decision. I want to thank the players who donated: HalfThere, godiceman, SloppyHands, A2M_RedEye, and PerkyPerk77 as well as everyone else who played on the server. Of course, I deeply apologize for your wasted time. I will put the server world up for download soon in case anyone wants it. Lastly, you are all welcome to join Scandic vanilla (1.4.6) server at scandic.us:25565. If I ever start up another modded server in the future (such as the promising new Tekkit Lite or FTB) I will post it in this thread. EDIT: If anyone wants to keep the server running, send me an e-mail at [email protected] and I'll send a download link to the server files.

Make one engine for every part of the ship, and you've got yourself a bigger ship. It will lag badly, but it's a Minecraft SPACE SHIP so it's worth it. Either way, efficient and tidy design is crucial. -

My server is public and we've always had CC enabled. It's not such a big deal. It's a really fun mod to have. In fact, that's the mod that got me into Tekkit in the first place. -
Forge 1.4.7? Minecraft 1.4.7 isn't even out yet, and Tekkit is still using Minecraft 1.2.5.

You're forgetting MELEE TURTLES. How can you forget about a turtle with a sword?! I don't normally defend people who refer to excellent work done by volunteers as "a buggy piece of shit", but he does have a point. If 3.1.3 is a dev build, then why is the server download link at the front page for 3.1.3? -

I don't understand what it is you want. Are you looking for players to join your server? I suggest you go into the Whitelist Servers section of this forum and try your luck with an ad.

I give this troll a 0/10 for displaying low effort and for doing no research whatsoever on his target audience. It's going to take a lot more than this to beat the guys who posted Viagra ads on here a couple months ago.

You have been unbanned for lack of solid evidence. Apologies for the misunderstanding. Please do remove the bad publicity you've posted on here ASAP. Also, the warning I issued you both through in-game mail still stands. Half, please don't ban people for hacking. Mods don't have the authority to ban for that kind of thing. Another note to everyone: I've had enough of this Fart/Half vs. Andriv/Black bullshit. Please either solve your differences through war or become friends. Leave it out of my fucking forum thread.

You just picked a crappy mining spot. A single seed will not generate the same amount of ores in every area of the map. That would have been a bad idea on Mojang's end. -

I can't wait for EE3 to come in and get rid of the "have EE or I no play" mentality that a large part of the Tekkit player base shares. -
I play Tekkit instead of FTB because: Bukkit. I refuse to play on vanilla servers because of hacking. Sooner or later someone will make a hacking client for it and I would love to see vanilla admins try and catch them then. Annoying ores. FTB doesn't unify ores the way Tekkit does, so there are 3 kinds of every new ore. No frames. RP2 frames are my favorite item in all of Minecraft modding. I do like a lot of the stuff in FTB, particularly the extended biomes and Mystcraft, but singleplayer gets boring.

Exacting Revenge on Gravel

Put all of your gravel inside a crystal chest inside a large dark room. Let the mobs that spawn inside torment the souls of those pesky gravel blocks for eternity. Don't forget to put a world anchor in there so the torture doesn't stop when you leave the area. -
Some servers solve this problem by having one world for building and one world for mining. Personally I have EE disabled and most other easy-world-raping items like quarries nerfed to some extent so they can't be used as much. I bet there's a plugin that does what you say out there already. I know Towny has a regeneration option, but I know it doesn't work well with certain RP2 items, namely microblocks.

My two cents: 1) Disable ender pearls (wall glitch) 2) Disable boat placement on land (wall glitch) 3) Don't leave any 4x5x1 areas where nether portals could be spawned in (as mentioned in the first page of this thread) Then you just have to find a way to defend against logoutevators. Good luck there.

They don't work at all, actually. The computer interface at least. Confirmed in both Tekkit 3.1.2 and 3.1.3. -
ccSensors is busted both in Tekkit 3.1.2 and 3.1.3. The sensors themselves work but the computer interface can't be used.
