  1. 1600hz RAM is pretty slow, might want to change to 1600Mhz. Just messing with you man. Are you sure it's server lag and not client lag? I'm pretty sure with only 1Gb allocated to Tekkit you'd have a hard time client-side (try 1.5-2Gb and drop the server to 4-5 Gb). How many people are you hosting for (if this is a server for just a few friends and yourself then 6Gb is probably overkill)? Also is that 6Gb starting or max? And, do you lag in specific situations more than others or is your game just jumpy moving around?
  2. That's not going to work. Each teleporter needs a dedicated MFSU (Make sure it doesn't output a redstone current or you'll waste EU on powering a teleporter you're not using). Furthermore, you need a Frequency Transmitter to sync teleporters together. Once you have a teleporter next to an MFSU and they're linked together, just provide a redstone pulse (button) to the teleporter and you'll find yourself in the other spot. Also, I've heard some people have bugs if allow_flight isn't set to true in the server options but I don't remember for sure. http://wiki.industrial-craft.net/index.php?title=Teleporter
  3. Don't worry, you won't have this problem for long (unless you stay Tekkit 2.1 for awhile).
  4. Re: Texture Pack [128x] Sphax PureBDcraft [(REAL)Technic 6.0.7 / Tekkit 2.1] But how will we find the bugs and look good doing it? Just kidding ;p thanks for compiling the patches and whatnot into one easy to install package! My gf loves this pack and thanks to you I don't have to compile everything for her, that's gotta be worth at least 20 points.
  5. Isn't worldedit a SMP server plugin, not a SSP client mod? I mean, does worldedit (as part of Tekkit) even permit single player modification of the world?
  6. If you're sure there's a block there, either uninstall optifine or try one of the different types (Standard always works well for me when smooth messed up from time to time).
  7. You're probably going to have to set up permissions to allow non-OPs to use the commands you want while not being allowed to spawn items.
  8. Agreed, if you pull from DHCP, your IP is likely to change each refresh. For me it's not every restart but if my computer stays off for at least a few days. Also, my router allows me to route to my computer's name rather than its internal IP so even if my IP changes, the port forwarding rule remains in effect. Other routers are sure to vary.
  9. Yes, but if it's vanilla you will not get the new ores in chunks you've already explored/loaded so you may have to go well out of your way to find some tin, copper, uranium, etc. Otherwise, yes, vanilla maps will work in Tekkit.
  10. hahahahaha That's good for a laugh, because port forwarding on a network you control is hard. OP: If you install the basic server and don't modify the server-ip and port in the server properties, you should be able to just port forward 25565 to your computer and it should work when someone connects to your external IP (google my ip to find out the external). Questions: Did you find out your most recent external IP when trying to get your friends to connect (it could change depending on your ISP)? Check the port forwarding to ensure it's going to your computer or that your computer still has the same internal IP on your network (also can change when your computer renews its internal IP)? If that doesn't work, make sure anti-virus and windows defender and any other software isn't blocking 25565 (or another port of your choosing) on your computer. If you can run your server and connect through "localhost" then your server is running fine but something is blocking outside connections so you just have to work your way down the line to see what's stopping it. Hopefully, this won't be too problematic as long as you consider everything that can influence your incoming and outgoing connections on that port. If you provide more information on your current methods and attempts as well as relevant software that may interfere, you'd probably get a faster response.
  11. The original op has to come from the text file. How are you separating the name(s)? Mine are just on separate lines and that works fine, I don't know if separating with semi colons or commas will work. Also, are you running a permissions system? If so, I believe you have to use that to set permissions rather than Op, the server should only default to OP if no permissions are available (file blank, I believe).
  12. If you're an op then you should be able to op people in-game, I believe.
  13. There's a button that says insert image. I think you also need to add in width=800 (or another max) if your image is not sized correctly.
  14. Tzarnal, will this map work with the dev build (or do you have a separate one for the dev build)? Just wondering because it looks like your gates use thaumcraft 1. Thanks nm, it's fun in 1.1 but I keep running into this bug that makes me unable to trade with the village because the person never comes. It took me about half an hour and a full re-install just to get the 'chief' to show up (Japanese village).
  15. 2 minutes after posting this: You decide to ask this: Then your long thread about the state of many mods found here: http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,6677.0.html At least the last one had some substance but how about keeping ETA threads to a max of one, I'd recommend the last one.
  16. http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php?topic=3698.0 You can kill spawn protection if you don't need it.
  17. Remove OP, move spawn to somewhere they won't build (or turn off spawn protection and leave it).
  18. Because when working on large projects it'd still be easier to just retrieve what you need. That's why my base has 150 mini-flowers (1/5) with each condenser containing a different target (I may expand it in the future). That was it's self-replenishing. The sorting system is used for non-transmutable items and those that have been or are auto-crafted. Either way, Minecraft is about doing what you want to do right? Maybe some people like working toward super creative mode ;p
  19. http://forum.industrial-craft.net/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=4827 Also, worked this out awhile ago, I believe the recipes are still the same. 20. I'd estimate ~5 users lag-free (maybe <10), might run into some problems as the world develops with more people (especially with chunk loaders and computercraft, if you allow them). I am also surprised at the lack of RAM but the SSD...
  21. Go into NEI options and enable the showing of item ids for every item you mouse over in the sidebar or in your inventory?
  22. No, go talk to your server admins...if they have nether disabled.
  23. As much as I don't care about people being ridiculed on this (or any other) forum, some people just ask questions without taking a second to understand what they are asking or the roles of those those who they ask. Also, making people "the subject of ridicule," may make them more aware of their ignorance perhaps even motivate them to gain more knowledge about the world around them. +1 You not playing Tekkit has nothing to do with support for "this crap." This website operates at a loss with little, if any, means of monetization (I have adblock on) so your 'support' means nothing unless you take the time out of your day and the cash out of your wallet to support the actual mod developers. Therefore, their rudeness is quite irrelevant. They often (or other users) say look at the rules or sticky but people still refuse to follow simple directions. All in all, I've wanted to (and sometimes probably have) asked when a mod or pack would updated to version x but I've noticed that when you're asking for a free product, you're at the mercy of its creator. In the long run, I resent companies for their terrible business practices far more than I could ever resent the Technic team for their 'rudeness' when dealing with either a simple blunder or a complete disregard for common sense. As much as I'd like to know what parts of a pack are currently in the works and if they foresee a working version in the works soon, I refrain not only because it would slow down their work but because it would induce more stress for them than it would relieve for me. If they answered every question for updates and other such questions covered in stickies, I don't believe they'd get much done at all (especially if they had to tiptoe around the feelings of every user whether those making a simple error, those of mental defect, or those of complete disregard for anyone but themselves).
