Tekkit/Technic girls wanted ! Guys too actually...
Yuriy replied to sigma85's topic in The Whale Box
How so? Do you prefer playing with girls? (some would consider sexist) Do you prefer not to play with girls? (some other people would consider sexist) This thread is pretty tame by most standards. -

You gave your friend the external Ip, good. Did you go into your router config and port forward port 25565 (the default port) to your computer? -

Well, guess I'm out. My girl always calls me an asshole because I build the base while she's sequestered in the mines. ;p -
Are you expecting a different response than ?

Are you placing the normal server file into the mod folder or the bukkit port (because tekkit uses bukkit)?
-
Disabled, as I recall reading on his patch notes. Disabled and removed are two different things.

Nope. BC3 and Logpipes are SSP only. When they're written for SMP and converted to Bukkit, maybe; but for now, no.

I'm guessing you figured out that second part? -
Have you tried putting something that stores power between your solar block and the magnetizer? http://wiki.industrial-craft.net/index.php?title=Magnetizer Try searching the IC2 forums to see if anyone has had that problem before.

The transceiver, dish, etc are used to craft the receivers and such that you place...I've never even tried to place the raw materials... -
I light the floor straight up and I light every 4th block but from what I'm reading here - http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Light - that sounds like it'd be alright but I'd still test it on hard mode before using it anywhere important. Maybe tighten it up a block or two because of the diagonal gap or stagger the rows or columns.

That, your graphics, is what I believe would hold you back (client-side). Anytime I see "integrated graphics" I know there'll be a problem. If you only have 256mb (or it's allocated from your system's RAM) I know you're going to run into lag because your graphics processing isn't up to par. For running Tekkit, your RAM is a bit low but tolerable but your graphics is the thing holding you back (in my opinion). The processor is alright for Minecraft but I'd try to go another 2Gb RAM and a separate video card with at least 512Mb to 1Gb of juice. In all likelihood, a 512Mb video card+ and another 2Gb of RAM (in a 64 bit OS) would allow you to run Tekkit just fine without having to rebuild from scratch.

Why don't you post your system specs so we can tell you where your own computer might be lacking. Giving you a minimum set of system specs to get x type of performance depends on many factors, settings, hardware configurations, software, everything. In other other words, a very loaded question with a million potential answers. I run an older Sapphire 5870 1Gb card OCed, 12 Gb of RAM OC to 1600Mhz at 8-8-8--24 2T timings, an EVGA X58 SLI board, a 980x CPU currently at 3.33Ghz (took down the OC for awhile), Ultra X4 1050W Modular PSU. That's most of the significant stuff. I run Technic at 170FPS (I like Millenaire and matmos); I host on my rig and play and still get over 100fps most of the time in Tekkit. If you're planning on rebuilding, you don't really need a specific parts list of other peoples' computers, just set a budget and get the best components you can afford within that budget. Also, consider a goal (such as what other games and stuff you play), expandability over time, and length of time you plan to keep the computer. The reason I asked for your specs earlier is because it may be possible for you to just add to your current computer or swap something out to improve performance (if it's a pre-made thing like a dell or something, maybe not).

Pretty sure it spits out that message when the ticks aren't keeping with proper time or something like that. It may not cause much noticeable lag but it may slow down your machines (a second or two per minute) because of the tick lag.

No, new ores come from stone not other ores. Also, it's not that rare depending on where you go. When I go diamond diving at level 10 I find at least a stack of redstone for every iron pick. If you find a little, make a phil stone and turn coal into redstone with it.

How to set up a dedicated server for Tekkit.
Yuriy replied to DeckerR's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Decker, I meant post this type of thread on your host's forum so users of that host can use it. I don't want you to get in trouble for 'advertising' your host because that's frowned upon here. Although you can change your post to remove that and still have a good guide on how to set up most dedicated host servers that won't do it for you (as long as you have FTP access). -
Next Tekkit Update - Forestry for MineFactory?
Yuriy replied to AStrongerfellow's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Hahaha! You, sir, are an idiot. The people who have great feedback know how to deliver it properly. Furthermore, the OP didn't even get lit up, just told to make it a suggestion rather than starting a thread about scuttlebutt (gossip). If everyone was to start threads that went along the lines of, "Hey, did you hear if the Technic team was planning on doing x because of y?" we wouldn't be able to find a useful thread in the forums anymore. If you don't like it here, get bent but don't expect to be coddled around here @OP. I believe that Minefactory Reloaded is for an older version of Minecraft because the wiki says it still needs ModloaderMP to function (most mods stopped using it because of problems with forge or something like that). Therefore, I'd bet that minefactory reloaded isn't coming back until it's updated again and compatible with other mods. -
From the OP's post, I gathered he wants his friends to remember the recipes rather than being able to look them up in-game. @OP, I don't know how banning client-side only mods works otherwise I'd recommend you try that but then they have to deactivate NEI completely. Other than that, it's a client-side mod so you can't just turn it off.
