  1. And the starving man is too delirious or delusional to know what's going on. Two sides of the same coin maybe.
  2. I hope that last part was a joke...because it'll never happen unless you recode everything from the ground up. Personally, I would avoid anything by flowerchild. If you'd like to use that stuff, however, you're going to have to modify vanilla minecraft yourself because the likelihood of you getting it to work with the pack is nil at best. Forestry: Allows for partially or eventually fully automated farming of trees, cacti, melons, rubber trees (the IC2 ones), and wheat (I don't remember if it covers sugar). If you like to struggle then having a fully automated food supply would certainly make your life a lot easier. I also don't like it much after the author's fallout with the technic pack but I'm not about to go into all the details of that again. If you like it, use it and install it manually after it's taken out of tekkit next update. The mining laser is something I never really liked much along the lines of one of the EE power items that lets you dig out massive holes and tunnels in seconds so you could just drop to diamond level and strip mine the planet if you have the power. I like EE's tech route that eventually gives me the option of creative mode after enough work much because I don't like tearing up my whole planet for resources, I simply like terraforming it into what I want it to be like. Quantum Armor will basically make you entirely invincible unless the suit runs out of power...it stores a ton of power. I've gone out for a smoke while sinking (and 'drowning') in a RP volcano tube. so 5m under liquid in lava and I barely used any power at all. I do like it's ability to run super fast and jump high but if you want to struggle, turning on god mode is certainly not the way to do it. If you want to figure out how things work together (I assume you mean mods within the pack), direwolf20 has some great lets plays but usually it helps to just create a test world and spawn tech or learn one mod at a time and experiment. I learned my current use of mods in roughly this order: IC2, BC, EE2, Forestry, RP2, and Thaumcraft. Once I learned one, I knew I could use pipes and tubes and other tools to accomplish certain objectives and it really helped me out. In fact, only after playing a special skyblock map I found and modified slightly (SMP), I was finally able to figure out some of the intricacies of how certain mods work together to achieve my ends on a blank canvas (which is something I'd recommend trying once you figure the mods out). I think the whole block place thing is for server protection plugins (anti-griefing and whatnot) but I'm not sure.
  3. Pretty sure it's closer to telling a starving person how often they used to eat in the past. ;p
  4. Um... clear the cache or re0nstall by deleting the folder for the specific type of installation you're trying to do...I assume Tekkit. Otherwise, do what the person above me said.
  5. I think Tekkit 1 was for 1.8.1 (been awhile) and I think too many things may have changed between mods so I'd just start anew. Or see if you can kill the tech and bring your world in with possibly having to convert block ids to match material types.
  6. There's a couple of free ones but the best success I've had is with Fraps. Google it and try out the 30s demo version. If you can swing the 30-40 bucks 37 USD or whatever it costs, it records in-game sound and live voice or just in-game sound and you can dub the voice in later.
  7. http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,4903.0.html Welcome, read that. If your questions wasn't answered, read it again.
  8. Pretty sure 1.1 and 2.1.1 are not compatible because of some mod changes. If you find out what mods and remove their stuff (EE is one, I believe), you may be able to use Midas (I think that's the one) like the old stickies suggest. try searching. Also, try posting in the Tekkit forum not the Technic forum.
  9. Don't sign posts, mate. I'll check this out as my girl and I play sky lock in Tekkit. However, if you're putting together a map for Tekkit, 1. Put this in the map forum and 2. Expect to receive most of your replies here. I can only speak for myself but I avoid the MCF like herpes. Edit: Oops, missed the adfly link before. Hmmm, maybe the mods are feeling generous today and won't ban you...who knows. I don't know why you'd post a map from Technic 6 and claim it to be a Skyblockz (sic) map. Also, starting inventory may need work unless I'm supposed to build diamond and dark matter bridges somewhere. [img width=800]
  10. If you're a big red stone guy, learn the red power gates, they often make it much easier to program basic and advanced circuits. I would kill crafting table two because I've still had dupe bugs with EE disabled, I don't remember the exact circumstances. Personally, I like EE because I don't want to spend most of my time mining after a week on the map and depending on how many friends you're playing with, that tech curve will stretch if you guys are occupying the same area therefor it'll take longer before it gets to the point of being "OP." That's if you guys want to spend more time building than mining, if you really want to struggle, disable forestry, EE, and the mining laser (also, maybe quantum armor. It's hard to get but will make you invincible once you have it). I would just peruse the wikis of the main mods and learn more about them if you haven't played Tekkit before. IC2, RP, BC (I rarely use BC anymore because I'm moving to tubes), rail craft, EE (if you leave it on). I think those are the main ones that are good to know before going nuts teching. Have fun and happy mining.
  11. Full except for 2 ice at every corner?
  12. I can only speculate but given Sengir's overall demeanor, I highly, highly doubt it. I don't see his hatred for Technic dissipating anytime soon. However, with the bad code gone, you should be able to reinstall it manually in the future, if you so choose. All it will likely take is dropping it in the mod folder and giving it some ids but, if it crashes or something, I'm certain the Technic team won't be able to provide you support if the cause is a mod not in the pack.
  13. By the way, Dijego, you may as well throw in that the current version also permits many power items to bypass server protection (if someone's going public without knowing that, they should reconsider). The new guy working on EE is working on that along with balance. However, your crusade still confuses me but at least your first post is closer to some sort of argument than before.
  14. Actually, it's just accurate. In an environment in which servers are decentralized and people host their own, most people couldn't care in the slightest what other servers are doing. With the diversity of server people operate, why would you care so much about servers on which you do not play. What you fail to grasp is that maybe not every server wants a technical play style, maybe they just want options. If I wanted to (and could configure) a server to run Tekkit, TC2, mo creatures, better dungeons, etc (I know they're SSP) I would combine the tech and the magic to give myself more options on what I wanted to do. In some of my builds, I develop IC2, BC, and RP machines alongside my EE stuff and sometimes I will build an alchemy lab far away from my industrial-style factories. Nevertheless, how I choose to enjoy the game really isn't any of your concern similarly to how your distaste for EE isn't much of mine. I think Jakj said it best when he asked you to provide reasoning for your argument because, contrary to what you may believe, you have failed to provide any substantial argument to support your request for the mod's removal.
  15. What are the specs of your reactor? Also, if your that excited, post your design (once) on the IC2 forum dedicated to nuclear power with the proper format (classification, efficiency, cycles run before overheating, cool down time, cycle length, etc).
  16. So you want it removed from Tekkit and turned off everywhere to suit your asinine vendetta against imbalance from combining multiple mods...have you lost the plot? If you want to play without it, join a server that has it disabled. Why in the hell should you dictate what I run on my server? You may make a case for your perception of EE's imbalance (for which several threads exist already so post there next time), but why we should be denied the use of a great mod because you think it's OP is so asinine it's laughable. You want to discuss game balance, fine. But EE does have some place in Tekkit even if you don't enjoy playing it. Maybe it'll be balanced differently in the future... He'll, I wish we could just configure all options as server owners to introduce individual server balancing to our preference. However, I'm not about to go bark orders at the new mod developer and I'm content with its current state for the time being.
  17. I wish I could, mate, but I have no [expletive] clue.
  18. No problem. Their wiki is very, very useful for starting out but some recipes and items have changed in the new patches so you may have trouble because of the version difference. Just see how the items are supposed to be made but double check NEI recipe mode in-game.
  19. Have you tried using the recipe mode of NEI? Also, I believe you need a rolling machine to make the rails themselves (The items used to make metal and high speed and special rails) and then assemble them on a normal crafting table.
  20. If they're not insulated, you will.
  21. If you're really against running wire and setting up several power relays along the way to reduce EU loss, try this: Edit (this): http://railcraft.wikispaces.com/Energy+Cart+%28Cart%29 There may be other ways, but if it stays loaded, it might just work. I'm not a pro at railcraft and I haven't had a chance to test this when used for retrieving power from fro away but it's an idea.
  22. Yes. For every version of Tekkit, you are required by law to buy new hardware. Not just new, but the top enterprise grade servers that money can buy (unless you've sprung for the optional legacy supercomputer package).
  23. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/249637-125-optifine-hd-a2-fps-boost-hd-textures-aa-af-and-more/ If I'm not mistaken, Technic and Tekkit often come with Optifine Smooth which sometimes causes problems for me. I've tried the multi-core one twice and it's been ok but not a major boost in performance (I use a 980X, 6 cores). Whenever I run into weird graphical problems I usually try a few and currently use Optifine Standard. Nevertheless, experiment with different versions and find what works for you. Make sure you download the right version of optifine for the current version of minecraft (Tekkit currently runs on MC 1.1). As for how, I just overwrite my optifine with the standard and that does the trick. If there's a better method, I'd love to know it.
  24. Remove Red Power? I don't see what the big deal is because it takes more time to do that for scrap then to set up a cobble gen and feeder right into the recycler. Might cost a bit more but someone trying to get a bit ahead of the curve doing this is still using gen or diamond saws to cut the blocks. And if they're repairing them with EE they can probably just set up a condenser to just spam cobble for them.
  25. Re: Help can't get tekkit minecraft started !. Not sure if this belongs here or in the bug forum. 2. Is it throwing errors, staying at a white screen, or just not loading into the main menu? 3. How much RAM are you allocating to Tekkit? How much do you have total? You shouldn't have to run it in compatibility mode because it runs just fine in a Windows 7 x64 environment. Also, have you tried doing a fresh Tekkit re-install? I've had that happen to me before but usually a restart or re-install (and the ocassional overwrite of optifine with another type of optifine) would solve it pretty quickly.
