  1. it is "crys", short for "crystal", from the crystalline teeth of Shai-hulud. SHAAAAAIII-HUUULUUUUUUD!
  2. Most of my devices have names like NecroniomiPod and Malleus MalefiKindle.
  3. My phone is named "FBI Surveillance Unit 0xf3", to freak out people who see the name on WiFi.
  4. Oh, I don't DISagree. I don't like CT3, because i feel like it defeats the whole purpose of the modpack. If I just want to have free stuff, and not have to craft it, I'd go into creative. I like crafting, and for me part of the challenge of the game is finding ways around the tedium of long crafting trees.
  5. I just got swype, based in part on this thread. It is like a tiny wizard. I just got an EVO 3D, although I haven't rooted it yet.
  6. I use project table rooms. It's a lot easier to start with basic recipes on one end, and just move down the list, than it is to autocraft. I know Ct3 is 'easier', but I hate the lag, and for some reason it feels even more like cheating than EE does. At least EE just gives you free materials. with CT3 and EE together, you might as well be in creative, or exploiting a dupe glitch. Build the factory. It's an accomplishment.
  7. I guess that's just where I differ. I feel like trying to make the game easy and consequence free takes away from the fun of it. People who rage quit when they screw up a recipe are taking it far to seriously.
  8. Just like everyone else, I've got an opinion. Mine is that people who can't live without crafting table 3 might as well just play in creative. Seriously? You can't be bothered to put the stuff in the table yourself? Or make a project table? Or do what the whole purpose of the modpack is, and build an elaborate OP machine to make the items for you? If you want it, add it back yourself. If you don't run your own server, convince your server operators to put it back in. People who do things like exploit bugs or who require CT3 just don't really like playing the game. It's as simple as that. Even if it was added back in, they'd find some other thing to whine about. Yes, it's all about playing your own way, and to do that, you can add the mod yourself instead of whining to people who have done an amazing job getting all these mods to work together and are offering the easiest installer FOR FREE. Nobody owes you anything. You paid for vanilla minecraft. Anything beyond that is a labor of love from people who like the game. Stop whining and play.
  9. His initial verbing of swearwords not usually used as verbs shows an interesting creativity. Sadly, that creativity is not maintained throughout the post, as it soon degrades into a predictable tirade. Overall, a decent effort, but one that shows off the posters relative inexperience. The Russian judge gives it a 4.5
  10. It's always best to familiarize yourself with the territory before mounting a frontal attack. Offsite host means somewhere online, that isn't the technic forums, to hold your pictures so you can point your posts here at them. Try imgur.com
  11. Dead image. Keep in mind that Tekkit is for multiplayer. Technic is single player. Try posting this in the appropriate forum. Off topic does not mean 'ask for help here'.
  12. I'm ticked. We had an awesome internet provider where I live. Now they got bought out by Time Warner, and I just know they're going to start sucking. They've already been dicking around the local tv channels. Nice job losing NBC for a week, TWC. I'm not too far from KS though, Maybe they'll do a rockstar tour of the midwest.
  13. Once you've mastered the different mods individually, start looking at ways to combine them for fun and profit! Make an infinite energy generator that turns sunlight into uranium to power quarries!
  14. I've seen that, is it any good? I prefer my mods to be synergetic, so I don't like standalone mods, or mods that don't really do anything beyond their own sphere.
  15. Well, sure. The original idea was a sort of pressurized lava pool underground though. I would love to see the Red Power volcanoes actually erupt, although not while I live inside them. But it's already harrowing enough to mine into a large lava chamber when you weren't expecting it. Now imagine that it could also flow upwards from the floor to fill in where you are. Something like finite liquids probably already does that.
  16. *nods politely with blank expression* Actually, that makes sense.
  17. Then I humbly retract the suggestion. I wasn't really thinking that it would update the graphic to show the tools, just that it would look like a pegboard and hang on the wall. I'm no coder. I'm a creative type. I leave the real work to the smart kids.
  18. How about a placeable tool pegboard? Something to hang your wrenches and screw drivers on, that you can place flat on the wall like a painting.
  19. Oh, I was imagining more of a lava-geyser.
  20. There's also a mobile version of the site if you go into preferences and change from the xenoforo style to mobile style.
  21. That would change "never mine straight down" to "never mine ever."
  22. I'd forgotten that. Also helps to go into the IC2 config file and set sounds to false. That way you don't have to listen to the macerators going all the time.
