  1. Want to know why you're not getting any responses in here? It's because you haven't presented a good face to the community. Your post is boring. I suggest sprucing it up a bit. Ask a moderator if you want to edit the title, unless you can figure out how to edit it yourself. Edit: Yeah, I'm just going to lock it. You can put up another post if you want.
  2. There's a whole subsection to this forum that contains a list of modpacks you can hunt through for a simple pack. Hint: There's one on the first page that might interest you. Please don't post "find me a modpack" requests. Thanks.
  3. Yeah, it's not just a firewall. Anti-ad/malware software is well known for stopping downloads from working correctly.
  4. Soooo...you reported me for telling you there wasn't enough information to help you, and you posted in the wrong place. I didn't mention that you could provide launcher logs, which would actually be helpful, or that you could give us an error message, if it displayed one. There are several reasons why the launcher could be behaving this way, and you gave us nothing to narrow down the reason. Why bother reporting the post if you're leaving? The purpose of a report is to improve the community. What you just did is like...sending a nasty letter to get the manager of a store in trouble when you'll never visit the store again. It's just vindictive, not helpful. Now you have two choices. Leave, be bitter, and gain nothing. If you do that, and we've had plenty of people take that course, don't let the door hit you on the way out. Or, learn, ask for help in the right spot with a little bit of supporting info, get an answer, and gain something. Which will it be?
  5. Thread locked as duplicate. See for server thread.
  6. Okay. Question, though: do you have more than 12GB of RAM? If not, telling Java it can use all your memory is never a good idea. Most mod packs require no more than 4GB to run well. Since neither of my earlier suggestions were effective, I'd suggest posting an issue on the Tracker with more information, logs, etc., after you try reducing the RAM allowance for the launcher to 4GB or less.
  7. That's the only thing in your crash report? Looks like an antivirus or firewall's keeping you from downloading packs. Your post is awfully small to be an entire log or crash report, though. Regardless, use the Tracker, as anyone who wants to troubleshoot your issue is going to need your Java version and such as well. Cheers.
  8. Logs. You need log files. And like PMP said...some sort of review on your part of your local security software.
  9. Sounds like an antivirus/firewall problem to me. Either said security software needs to be disabled, or some kind of exception/allowance for the launcher needs to be added. Beyond that, go to the Tracker for help with stuff like this.
  10. Be as polite as you want in the text, but it's actually rather rude and extremely unproductive to ask for help and not provide any useful information on what's actually happening. Why don't you try again with the Tracker?
  11. Turning off Fast Render in OptiFine usually fixes the flickering issues. It's not always effective for that, but I actually got a 10 fps boost on mine from turning off Fast Render.
  12. 1.6.4 to 1.7.10 (or 1.7.2) migrations are particularly tricky because there are no more item or block IDs in 1.7.x MC. In the unlikely event that you do get a migration to work with much effort, Curunir's right - you're still likely to lose stuff.
  13. This isn't how you get help. Please use the correct section for server help (Server Op Swap Shop), and provide more information.
  14. Here's the problem you'll have with that: spawning is controlled by light level. Mods like Crafting Dead remove the light level controls, but that also means you can't really adequately keep unwanted things like creepers from spawning inside your base. If you could solve that problem, well...you might have a pretty nice idea.
  15. The launcher and platform were just updated a couple weeks ago, and I believe they're still working out some website issues.
  16. Thread locked, see other thread here. '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>
  17. You can also paste the URL into the search bar.
  18. Two possible issues: - You have 32-bit Java instead of 64-bit, or at least the launcher thinks so. Make sure you have 64-bit Java installed. - You're using a laptop with both NVIDIA and Intel graphics chipsets, and Java is using the Intel chipset. That will make your game run very slowly. If that is the case, you will need to configure Java to use the NVIDIA card in the NVIDIA Control Panel. Now for your personal issue: You posted on the forums instead of making a thread on the Tracker. You would likely have an answer already if you'd put the question in the right spot.
  19. The Technic Launcher and www.technicpack.net are still not entirely stable after the new version rollout. The admins are working on it.
  20. At least you're in the right place. But yes, you have a lot more info needed before you'll get any help whatsoever.
  21. Actually, if you paste a pack URL into the launcher search window, it...finds the pack, which you can then click on and install. Alternatively, you can simply click the Install this pack button on the site and it will add the pack to your list of packs. Try it. Go ahead, I'll wait. In the future, maybe you could refrain from spouting off about how badly things work until you've tried them.
  22. That's not to mention that you need logs, and you need to put this in the Tracker rather than on the forums.
  23. This issue belongs on the Tracker, not here.
  24. Thread locked due to unresponsiveness to my request (see above). Please contact a moderator to get the thread unlocked or start a new one, your choice. Edit: Unlocked so the title and OP content can be fixed.
