Can you guys add the Aether mod to Tekkit?
Torezu replied to Brady5953's question in Technic Launcher
Ha. Hahahahaa. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahaaa! No. Read the rest of the Aether threads. -
[snark]Yes! Ore information! Tungsten ore, perhaps.[/snark] Seriously, read the stickies, especially the one on the bug report format. There's zero chance of you getting help without some more information, unless you literally (as opposed to what most people do) try everything. :)

Please Add MoCreatures, It Has SMP Support Now!
Torezu replied to TheReaperKing's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
From what I've seen of Thaumcraft, it's basically another IC2, with magic instead of machines. It has power, and special tools, and other items. If it's not your type of mod, cool, but just watching people play with it on Youtube doesn't make for a good personal experience. -
Balkon's Weapon Mod was removed for stability reasons.

You were pretty quick to say you hated it, without having done much with it... -
I can't decide if you're trolling or serious. Clearly, she's the one with the problem, not you. Troubleshooting by proxy never works well. At the very least, information you need to provide (for her computer, not yours) is outlined in the bug report format, and the launcher log is especially important. Provide that, or no one can help you.

1) Where did this comment come from? No one in here has mentioned Thaumcraft. 2) Now that you have, are you nuts? ThaumCraft SMP would be spectacular. **Edit: Dangit, Jay?! -

It's in both Technic 6 and the latest dev build of Technic 7, so I would imagine it's going in whether Zhark actually gives permission or not. The only reason the instructions are so complex, instead of just "drop these files here," is that the GUI Api is needed, and not in Tekkit. It would otherwise be easier to install. -
The question is rather, do Tekkit staff want to: actually open and edit the source code, and so spend a lot of their time for what might not even work, and risk the mod author's wrath by doing so? I'm guessing the answer is no.

Okay, so here it is: Download the server bukkit port (find it in the list here) and drop it in your [server_folder]\mods folder. Each client should then go to the MineCraft Forums thread for MoC here and download the GUI Api, CustomMobSpawner, and of course the Mo' Creatures client. The CustomMobSpawner and client .zip files should go in their .techniclauncher\tekkit\mods folder, and the GUI Api needs to be dropped into the modpack.jar in their .techniclauncher\tekkit\bin folder. Follow these steps correctly, and everyone will be able to play on your server with Mo' Creatures. At least, mine worked...there are a few glitches, though, and you have to mess with moving the config file over from a single-player modpack that has Mo' Creatures. Also, don't try to open the Global Mod Config tab in your options menu. It will likely crash your client. -

It's fairly simple to add it to your own server, and have other people add it so they can join. It's probably still considered too unstable to add it to Tekkit, yet, though. Also, feel free to search for the other 5 or 6 threads that already mention this topic, you know, instead of starting your own. -
i cant change my mods for technic launcher 1.0.1.3
Torezu replied to Champ5champ's question in Technic Launcher
Why won't you people just answer him?!? ;) -
Also, 2GB on a video card makes no difference if the rest of your computer sucks, or they just crammed as much video memory on the card as possible without other card features matching.
-
It is possible to open another modpack (YogBox f.ex.) that uses Mo' Creatures, copy out the config file for it, edit it to suit, and place it in the Tekkit server folder. That seemed to work for me. You do have to create a new directory for the config file so it matches the client side, but...as long as it works.
-
Client-side launcher log? She may be running an old version, or have a Java problem, or...you get the idea.
-
Need more information, but I'm guessing turning your IC2 and/or Advanced Machines sounds off will probably help. That's in IC2.cfg and AdvancedMachines.cfg, both in the .techniclauncher\tekkit\config folder.
-
I think the launcher RAM settings are for maximums, so it'll start with half that and ramp up to 8GB if it needs to. That...seems like a lot, I hope you have 16GB or so if you're dedicating 8 to the launcher. That TileEntityData packet error has been associated with EU or other power generation loops in my experience. Do you have machines hooked up in an odd way, particularly a power storage device (batbox, MFE, MFSU) that might connect to itself?

Removing Energy Condenser causes crash
Torezu replied to Dantheminingman's question in Tekkit Classic
RTFS is Read The (silent F) Stickies, and UTBRF is Use The Bug Report Format. I'm guessing it's an installation, java, or configuration issue, but without more information, it's impossible to tell. -
Yeah, that's an EE bug with the SMP version. Just use the talisman in either an alchemy bag or an alchemical chest.
-
You may have Java 7, but your server isn't using it. Make sure you both get rid of all older versions, and point your system path or server launcher batch file to Java 7.
-
You have an oooooold version of Java. Update to Java 7u5, and see if you get the same error.
-
Both your Tekkit version and your Java version may be up to date, but your launcher is not. Grab a new one of those, and see if that fixes the problem.
-
Run the launcher .jar with a batch file that has "pause" (no quotes) as a second line, and see if there's an error message. If you don't know how to create a java batch from scratch, use the server batch file and change the file name.

Having problems logging into a server
Torezu replied to alexnicnac's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
It'll probably be in [server_folder]\[world_name]\data or something like that, but I don't have access to my server right now, so...if it's not there, just do a windows search in the server directory structure for "[player_name].dat" or even *.dat if you want to find the alchemy bags and trans tablets, too.
