  1. he could be powering a mining drill and still be down power. The trees things may be because of the way some of the trees grow, and whether he is harvesting on demand or when all trees in a set are full grown.
  2. should be all you need to know, he is forcing vanilla minecraft to run with less than basic memory in order to get it to run, therefore since tekkit has a larger memory footprint thats why it hangs and cannot load, if he cannot run tekkit with 800megs which i don't think he can than hes not gonna be able to do it. The jwgvl fix was mainly for flipped screens on mac as a fix, suggesting it without any indication that that was the issue is not helpful, which is my point if you have nothing of value to add, don't suggest things that you "should" know do not work.
  3. hold on, I think the issue has be indentified, you are trying to run it on less than 2 gigs of ram? you cannot use swap for jvm i don't think, you do not have the memory to run tekkit if you have less than 2 gigs because you are then trying to assign system memory to it as well, which will cause the hang on any system. Viv, I keep seeing you trying to help with like the same 3 lines, really if you don't know what specifically your advice does, don't suggest it.
  4. no, deuterium is heavy water, just put water in the chemical extractor, and you are right it isn't called refined uranium, its uranium 235 i think it also produces uranium 238 which is used for breeder reactors, the process is you stick a chemical extract left of a nuclear boiler which will be left of a centrifuge stick the uranite in the chem E and get yellow cake, make sure you have a rad suit for pulling the yellowcake out, put it in the boiler, if you set it up right the uranium hexafloruide will pipe straight into the centrifuge and make you uranium 235 or 238. personally fission is shit for power gen not even worth the hassle, but i make the uranium in case I want to trade with someone. Deuterium is used in fission reactors, not in particle accelerators.
  5. its not really a file, its a loading issue in 1.1.5 when you load into a chunk, Canvox mentioned at one point that he knew about the issue, so they may have a fix before 1.1.5 becomes final.
  6. also, pretty sure wooden pipes don't work that way on the receiving end, try any other pipe into the chest.
  7. if you want to disable items that way, you have to change it both on the server and in the clients, there are better plugins for doing it, or you could change the recipe to not be obtainable.
  8. I run them all, lol wheat, melons, pumpkin spruce, birch,rubber, carrots, potatoes, and cactus makes 9 doing all of this in 2 25x25 farms. really, I run 2 bio reactors for 22 gens and keep ahead on fuel.
  9. Weird never had a portal that didnt place a door after you go through. They are set to do that so that you can break the door to get a rift that you can remove.
  10. place a D-door on it then break it, it should leave behind a rift instead of a door, then use the rift remover.
  11. well you now have more reactors than you will ever need, lol, I run 2 and that runs fuel positive with 22 generators, about 16 running full bore, and one of my reactors is backed up draining fuel, so if you get 9 varieties in 4 reactors you will be massively ahead of almost any power setup you should need.
  12. yeah but setting up a subnetwork is arguably much more expensive in terms of materials than not, and as I pointed out the subnetwork can be eliminated with a very small resource expenditure. so yeah I know that is possible, but 1) it slows down from my setup 2) it is resource expensive in other ways(certus quartz being rather precious when you start out). 3) requires multiple stages of planning.
  13. yes yes it is. if you bother to refine the urinite you can generally get 3 refined uranium from each urinite there's some intricacies but ill let you figure those out.
  14. 4 ram slots is pretty common, you can get 4gb sticks which would get you 16gb pretty easy, and if you really wanna pony up the dough you can go bigger, but his compaq laptop is probably running 32bit win- so he can only allocate 1gb, and he probably dosen't have 20g on the desktop but over allocated and never ran over his cap. I can almost guarantee, the "HP" desktop was not running 24+ gigs of ram.

Prototype every induction furnace recipie has a "common" ingredient and a "rare" ingredient, the way I set this up is to constantly keep a stack of the common ingredient in the induction furnace via an export bus on one input, and the rare in the recipie in the interface on top, thus any time I request that material it sends the rare ingredient and gets crafted, this keeps only one stack of common in the furnace, it does however make each Induction Furnace into a unitasker but this is smart because you can do multiple smelt jobs at once by setting up multiples. all the other ways of doing this can lead to jam ups and problems, except maybe the storage bus removal method, though that is kinda slow because you have to keep coming back to pull out more materials.

  17. pipes are aweful for MFR automation TE and ME stuff is the way to go. Shoot conveyers probably work better than BC pipes for MFR automation.
  18. Try some DDoors. Or random spawning keeps, not the walker ones, the abandoned looking ones seen some floating over ocean biomes.

  21. No one seems to take into account the minium farming, which could easily be tuned to have a lower drop rate in hexxit than in tekkit and others.
  22. yeah I basically wanted as many 3x3 turbines on top as I could get, for max efficiency of space and a clean design. the extra shared space increases the power gen pretty nicely as well. I may post more pics when I get it set up, can't wait for bigreactors mod to make it in, have a whole nother cooling tower set aside for it. Atomik science is in 1.1.5 the beta build. I've been using it for north of a month now and have no issues with it.

  24. actually with pulverizers having a chance at an extra dust and rich slag giving 3:1 i would say TE allows you to triple your ore as well, for a hell of a lot less effort than factorization.

I've been tweaking the values of the power input to the reactors, and I think ive settled at about 55mj/t each, but I have not done a test run to test for power out suffice it to say when it is fully operational the short answer will be "a lot." even with the inputs set to 100mj/t on the reactors I was still filling about two extra redstone energy cells on 4 stacks of deuterium, so with the power input better controlled and lower im expecting at least double that, the system has about 3 million MJ's in the backup system and the storage system should store 12 million a layer, im hoping with 20 reactors running I should be able to fill that 12 million in under 30 minutes.
