Dig sideways to the edge of the ravine then dig down 1 or more blocks inside the wall of the ravine. Wall up any holes you find into the ravine. For the few water blocks in your way fill with dirt, sand (or gravel) then dig the fill out.

Did you switch to peaceful? (Have no idea if the dungeon rate is effected by that.) Try Twilight Forest. It's and old mod with documentation. Twilight Forest gate: 2x2 pool of water surrounded by a ring of 12 small plants. Throw in a diamond (diamond selected in hotbar, hit "Q"). Lighting will strike and the water will turn into a portal effect. Make the first one near your spawn point and bed point, because you don't want to get lost if you die. The portal can form in one of the high tier boss areas (The boss areas are on a grid, so you only need a max of three portals to find a safe portal site. Or two if you can guess how large the dangerous area is. I think the scale between worlds is 1:1.) You can find stuff to craft magic maps for finding ores underground (The map displays 7 blocks vertically, 3 above & below), it's also a maze map that shows 1 block thick walls. The lowest tier special areas (the ones on the grid) are said to fall to no/low armor and wood?/stone weapons. (Wood Tier, Iron Tier, Diamond Tier, and hints of a higher tier, so treat any undocument grid spot as above diamond tier). -

The recipe options might be for future features, or not implemented in the 1.5.2 version yet. You might need the vanilla recipes to make the others work. -

Check the item IDs on the seeds to see if they match (295?) default minecraft. Is there a config location in Forestry for adding seed IDs?

Right stone platform height? Circuit board? Power? Seeds in the right slots? Platform shape matching the core shape? Off signals? If you have a farm control block a redstone signal on the top or bottom will shut the farm down.

Rei's minimap has a slime chunk option. It colors the chunks red. "M" key:Surface Map Options: Show Slime Chunk Found it in the old Big Dig Pack wiki.

Looks like ChocoCraft needs a Choco-capitator, 1 kill with a creative spawned tool kills all active Chocobo. Or all identical Chocobo. With the ability to turn it on or off in the config?

4 Smelteries (8+1)m high can handle a stack each. Having all the controllers at the center makes for easy distribution. And the space between them allows for more output spouts.

To make forestry less OP change difficulty.gamemode=OP in config/forestry/common.conf. There's a warning that the client config controls the appearance of the recipe, while the server config controls what happens. This doesn't matter for the farm.fertilizer.value. -

farms.fertilizer.value=2000 is the EASY level. OP should be 4000 or 8000. 4000 to follow the f.f.v progression. But 8000 fits the x4 jump found in the other OP values. -

It will keep filling, you should be able to see the black & yellow frame still there. Hook it up to a power grid that's powering something else and it will keep working without throwing away power. Edit: I've filled water with sand by just marking the top layer and having it replace each sand block after it falls. Set it up, keep it stuffed with fill material and powered and it will keep shoving one block at a time into place. It can be scary fast if you fall in. I was box filling a quarry and fell in. I thought I could dig a hole out, but it kept filling the doorway back up. Luckily the box fill pattern prevents it from closing you in immediately, but stay away from a box fill when it is almost closed or it will trap you until it runs out of material or power. -
You may be able to use the Power Suit's Plasma Cannon to mine. It can explode with a force of 0-500 miliCreepers.
