When I turned block ID on some stuff would disappear if I looked at it. I turned it off again and the stuff stays.

I have my waypoints in two groups so far. The first for the overworld and the second for the Twilight Forest. You point at the waypoint group and use the scroll wheel to change the group. Don't miss, the scroll wheel is a zoom control for the map.

You can make a test world in single player, go to cheat mode grab living metal blocks, fencing, some passive mob eggs and start cattle punching.

You can make a living metal block that refills hearts will you stand on it.

NEI has a search box under your inventory. If it's in recipe mode you can click the bomb bag to see its recipe. The ? mark lets you put the recipe in a crafting table.

You have to open the display cases first. There's a thread on here that says Bibliocraft bookcases with books in them are better than vanilla bookshelves for boosting the enchanting table. Open and close the display case by shift/sneak-right clicking the case itself. Place and remove items by right clicking them. Right click a wooden label with an empty hand to open its three slot inventory. Just tested them.

The printing stuff and lined cases are from Bibliocraft. The lined case is a display case, you may need an empty hand to interact with it. The printing stuff lets you duplicate books, even magic books.

Yes, you can use the seed to recreate the world. Put it in the server.properties file. The line is "level-seed=", two lines above max build height=256. You can save the old world. Please report on the results.

With 2380 effective hp it sounds like lava hot tub time. It will take about 4 minutes for him to die in lava.

Grab the pieces out of the controller that aren't melted. Try to make as many ingots as you can out of the melted metal. Then break a block in the bottom 5x5 row of the smeltery to erase everything. I have no idea if you can just add the rest of the alloy ingredients, drain off the alloy and then drain off what's left. Take out all of the lava that you want to keep, you can put in in Seared Glass, it acts as a tank, or make another lava tank to hold it. I don't remember if the lava disappears or not. I think it stays.

I went to here. I'm still picking a mod and looking at all its documentation and videos. Twilight Forest is the first place you'll be able to clear out a location. Make sure you only take on the wood tier first. Don't just check the wiki, continue on into the source. The Twilight Forest website link is in the Navbox at the top right. So is the MineCraft Forum thread. Think of the stuff you read and see are the stories you've heard and things you've seen as you grew up in the Hexxit world. There's so much stuff you won't remember it all anyway.

The meteors may be pregenerated, so they the meteors can only fall during the night on old chunks. There may be a timer that only runs during the night for them. So the first one will take twice as long as in 1.0.0 if you don't sleep. To use a bed you'll need to sleep near moon set.

Have you tried making a vanilla world and sticking it in the Hexxit server folder? You need to rename it to "world" or whatever you changed the world name to. This is a better test to see if the world is the problem then generating world after world, and having them all not work.
