  1. You really like calling people unhelpful, don't you?
  2. So the laptop is the school's property, then. If the school says you're not allowed to use the laptops they provide for Minecraft, well, that's too bad. On the bright side, though, since the Technic Launcher still works you can still play somewhat outdated versions of Minecraft with mods. Which if you ask me I'd take that over updated vanilla Minecraft any day.
  3. Well, that's the beauty of Minecraft and other video games. They aren't real-world. The prime difference between renewable energy (in the sense of Minecraft resources) in current and older versions of Tekkit essentially boils down to whether the generator is a single block you put in the right place and hook up with cables or a larger, more complex system requiring certain infrastructure in order to make it truly self-operating. As a personal preference, I prefer the latter over the former.
  4. There are renewable resources, you just need to set up infrastructure for them. Probably the simplest example would be an MFR tree farm powered by steam dynamos, which sends the wood to be smelted into charcoal which is used to fuel the steam dynamos.
  5. Magmatic engines are now called magmatic dynamos.
  6. I know RF -> MJ works with conduits, but I don't think it works the other way around. And now that I've tested it, I can confirm that conduits do not turn MJ into RF. Or accept MJ as an input at all.
  7. If my memory is correct, the ability to play offline will only work if the Technic Launcher is set to automatically log in to a certain profile (i.e. the "Remember this account" tick box is checked when you enter your account details). From what I can tell, this isn't the case; try setting it to remember your account next time you use the launcher with internet access and see if it works then.
  8. Also conflicting versions. Like requesting Redpower, the latest version of which runs on Minecraft 1.4.7, and Witchery, the earliest version of which runs on Minecraft 1.6.4.
  9. Because it can't be created. Not with all the mods requested anyways.
  10. The different coppers should be interchangeable, so you should be able to use the other mod's copper for whatever it is you need from Tinker's Construct.
  11. Some time during the alpha. Can't remember exactly when, but if I remember correctly it was something like the August before the first Halloween update (when the Nether was added to the game).
  12. You can use the Minium Stone from EE3 to transmute cobblestone, dirt, gravel, etc. from quarries into more useful items.
  13. Neither a bug nor a glitch. This is what some might call unintended mod interactions, others would call an exploit, and yet another group would refer to as "heh free stuff heh". In that as far as I'm aware, Thermal Expansion isn't designed with people being able to convert four planks back into a log in mind, and Equivalent Exchange 3 isn't designed with people being able to convert a log into six planks in mind.
  14. Yes. Yes. I don't know, but that's irrelevant to Tekkit. Which has machines and energy storage. The moon, moon dungeons, space stations, mars, mars dungeons... I don't know what isn't cool about that. I find playing without the option of near-universal transmutation to be more enjoyable.
  15. Thermal Expansion's conduits look fantastic in my opinion. Might just be a matter of personal preference. Big Reactors mod is your friend. Galacticraft has solar panels, but I don't know how good they are. I've never used them myself; I hardly ever even used IC2's solar panels when that was the thing to have. As for geothermals, Thermal Expansion's got magmatic dynamos. It isn't missing, you just have to look in the right places. As opposed to being broken and usable.
  16. Three things. 1. This is about Tekkit Classic, not Tekkit Main. 2. I wouldn't say nobody uses Tekkit. Doing so would be a very significant understatement. 3. Heh
  17. You log in to the launcher with your Minecraft account, not your forum/platform account.
  18. It works for me.
  19. Hover mode is part of the jetpack added by IC2. Which is not the same jetpack as the one you're using.
  20. As far as I'm aware, IC2 is pretty much gone for good. No need to fret, though; almost every function of IC2 that I can think of off the top of my head can be done with the mods in the current Tekkit.
  21. If I remember correctly, this is a problem with chunk loading. Do you have a chunk loading block set up there, and if not does it still do this if you do?
  22. I don't think the molten metal shifting is in the version of Tinker's Construct that Hexxit has. If my memory is correct it was added in one of the 1.6.x versions of TC, whereas Hexxit runs on Minecraft 1.5.2.
  23. That's because it's an invalid picture file. It's not that you can't post it as a picture, it's that it can't be posted as a picture at all. And the reason it is an invalid picture is because it is not a link to a picture. It is a link to a dropbox page with a picture on it.
  24. As is clearly shown by the abundance of exclamation points and question marks in the statements preceding this one and the all-caps title.
  25. Didn't you just get an answer to that question?
