  1. The server specs for this modpack should be very similar to vanilla minecraft, with additional processor power and RAM necessary to accommodate for the modpack. The number of cores for a processor will have little to no impact on the server speeds due to the fact that minecraft, and consequently modpacks, do not take full advantage of multi-threading and will only use a single core. RAM and processor requirements increase depend on the number of players, what will happen with their bases, etc. You could easily tear apart a top-of-the-line super computer if someones base does not take into consideration laggy aspects of the modpack.
  2. If the leaves attach or the wood attaches to nearby blocks, the harvester will assume its a part of the same tree and continue chopping it down. This was done to catch logs/leaves on the edges of its range without leaving this odd looking square hole that could eventually be filled on the edges with leaves/logs.
  3. That site was ravaged by a user under the name "Buildermand0317" that copied information from ftbwiki and other sources and falsely adds information to the wiki, they have since been blocked from editing on the site for a year. This same type of behavior was done on the Hexxit wiki as well.
  4. I remember there being a config value for advanced genetics that permitted gene mods to be kept on death, but I would have to look for it again. Edit: Was incorrect, was thinking of the morphs config file in regards to this type of thing but for morphs instead (I:loseMorphsOnDeath=0)
  5. You mean Project Red, Loader RP is no longer around.
  6. Chances are yes, O is the NEI toggle key.
  7. The game runs fine on most peoples machines from 1.5GB to 3GB. So saying 3GB is absolutely necessary for single player isn't entirely true. If you want, replace the shelf and post a proper issue on the tracker (link available in signature below, along with tracker guidelines) so I can take a better look at it along with the log files to perhaps see what the issue is. If you know the chunk coordinates or the location (X/Y/Z) you can use a tool developed by dinnerbone to get the region file name and upload it as well so I can take a closer look at the region file itself and the nearby chunks and come up with ideas of what the lag would have been caused by. If you need help getting to the region file or getting logs let me know before you post a tracker report about this.
  8. This issue can also happen when the smeltery controller loads, it may load incorrectly (packet loss) or have stored its information incorrectly when the chunk was saved that could cause this. This particular method of issue is less likely but keep in mind that even if you make sure it is only on a single chunk, this issue may still arise rarely.
  9. Vanilla portal shapes werent changeable in 1.6, and has to be the size prior to the change (4x5 as loaders diagram shows) and only enhanced portals permit different sized portals to be a thing.
  10. Sounds like the server is being blocked by the use of security applications and/or firewalls and/or routers/modems.
  11. Chunks being reset shouldn't be an issue as long as you're not exploiting bugs/glitches that would cause it to begin with. I've never had a chunk reset without reason. And AE systems wouldn't be immune to such chunk damages anyway as it may take out those storage drives unless for some reason you're going to keep them all on-person at all times, and even then what if your player dat file needs to be removed? Itd be lost in that case. I'm not disagreeing that the current storage system using project red is a bit lackluster but it does indeed work, and isn't too difficult to setup. I would rather keep this system and have the mod author update it further to improve capabilities and fix issues that may arise instead of adding an additional tech-heavy type mod that uses power in order to run (something generikb mentioned early in his series was something they wanted to avoid)
  12. Poppet shelf loading a single chunk shouldnt put much more of a strain on the server and I would suggest you look at whats in the chunk the shelf is loaded in for the memory issues.
  13. Just a note for the future: Issues belong on the tracker. Link to the tracker an its guidelines are available in my signature below. Also, the link to the tracker is available at the top navigation bar between "Members" and "Wiki"
  14. Issues belong on the tracker. Link to the tracker an its guidelines are available in my signature below. Also I suggest reading the thread as it already has instructions revolving around your issue (hint: DNA Breeder): '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>
  15. File gets written to incorrectly during a crash because it couldnt save the file properly due to the crash, minecraft attempts to read it after it "saves", cant figure it out, assumes its not necessary or corrupted and attempting to load it further would be problematic thus it deletes it, is one possibility.
  16. The tracker is where you post issues, such as these. The link to the tracker and its guidelines is available in my signature below. The tracker is where you will get help for modpack related issues like world loss, items not working, etc. Also, may i suggest reading '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> as it will give a better idea of the tracker.
  17. It also takes a bit of time to load the fuel. Have you waited more than 3 minutes for it to load? Also, have you made sure the direction the fuel loader is in is the correct one? (It looks correct from the image but since I'm not there, I cannot confirm it is for sure)
  18. Grinders will not create miniature red hearts. The red hearts are considered a "rare" item by the game, so typical mob farms will fail to generate them like it is in current versions of minecraft that nerfed farms like the iron golem one. In order to generate the hearts you will need to make it think a player killed them (ie: an actual player or use of an autonomous activator) is necessary in order for a red heart to have a chance to drop.
  19. Issues should be posted on the tracker. Link to the tracker (and its guidelines) available in my signature below. Someone will be more willing to assist you there.
  20. Sounds like the server is being ran from the minecraft server jar file rather then the correct launch,bat/launch.sh file
  21. I haven't had issues with the crafting pipes crashing servers, but in my experience with them since 1.0.9c up into 1.0.11a is that they still cause issues, crafting pipes only in this case. I have had them cause local only client errors while attempting to use them but have yet to get them to crash a server in any recent version of the modpack. (excluding of course a false report of them being the problem in relation to the tessellation error that is reported due to archiemedes ships)
  22. Doing this can actually mess up your existing villages in the world causing what should of been a functioning village to fail to function.
  23. Just a note to future posters since the main post hasn't been updated by Joa. We are no longer looking for applicants at this time. If we have availabilities later on, we will make note of it. Thanks to everyone who applied thus far and congratulations on joining us for those who were accepted via a PM (Private Message) on here. If you have not checked your private messages and may have been accepted, please make sure you look at the top of the page for a red number indicating you have unread messages.
  24. "Cool" is relative and subjective. Your best bet to finding a server is to check the server section over @ http://forums.technicpack.net/forum/75-attack-of-the-b-team-servers/ I would suggest checking the one I am a part of, but we recently filled up on available slots for the time being.
  25. Your edit still doesn't really include much information. Yes the mod itself adds a lot of decorative stuff, something I'm sure bdubs would be interested in, but your one-line description of it doesn't indicate much to why you yourself want it. What in it grabs your attention? Why would it fit the current theme of the modpack? What functionality does it offer that this modpack already doesnt? These are the types of questions I'm wondering about why you would suggest another mod to be added. Make a compelling argument for the mod, so discussion can actually happen. Just saying "add this" without reason gives no indication to what it does, why it is wanted, what it adds, etc etc.
