Technic Launcher says there's an update for Tekkit, but if I check under Options, 3.0.3 is still the latest rec build. I don't want to hit Yes on the update screen because the last time I did it, it deleted all my minimap points. Is it a glitch or something? It's a bit annoying. :P

10Mbit up. I host 2 servers and never hit that limit, even when both are full. :D

My home network is amazing. 24/7 uptime, it's completely free, they have decent equipment, and the tech support guy is HILARIOUS! :D

sk89q (the WorldEdit/WorldGuard guy) was working on a YouTube player plugin that displays on MAPS with no client-side mod requirement a long time ago, but he stopped working on it. ;_; One could make a YT player for CC right now on the ASCII display... it would just be slow as hell and heavy on bandwidth.

I've been using UU matter for rubber since Forestry left. It's not that expensive. You get like 21 rubber from only a few UU matter. As for wheat... yeah I'm still doing that manually. ;_;

I don't use EE in any of my servers, but I wonder if the Ender Pouch works the same way...

[3.0.3/3.0.4] Sumtin wrong with teleport pipes
VideoBoy replied to Mortec's question in Tekkit Classic
I don't think that's true... I have a teleport pipe transporting power from a batbox to a quarry well over 1000 blocks working fine right now on my server. Did you mean to say the power diminishes over distance? o_O -
For Death Issue when using Jetpacks
VideoBoy replied to ledhead900's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
If only there was a way to fix the recharging issue... I just tried this plugin and it works amazingly, but I feel that both jetpack glitches complement each other so I've decided not to install it on my production server. You want an infinite jetpack? Okay, but it's gonna be a bitch to maneuver. -
[3.0.3/3.0.4] Sumtin wrong with teleport pipes
VideoBoy replied to Mortec's question in Tekkit Classic
Sometimes my teleport pipes seem to lose sync with others in its frequency, but only the GUI is affected. It says "Connected Pipes: 0" but it works fine otherwise... Maybe it's related? All of the other pipes rely on World Anchors to work. -
[SEVERE BUG] Wireless Tracker WILL CRASH SERVERS!
VideoBoy replied to VideoBoy's question in Tekkit Classic
Woah wait a sec... You're the guy who fixed WorldGuard! :D -
Is there any way to see into people's alchemy bags?
VideoBoy replied to sparkz117's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
When I first started with Tekkit, I was a griefer. I used to pile up nukes, EE weapons and anything destructive inside alch bags so the admin couldn't find them. =) -
[3.0.3/3.0.4] Placing generators/iron furnaces leads to internal server error
VideoBoy replied to Covenant's question in Tekkit Classic
This was a common problem in 2.1.1. I had it in my own server and also saw it in a couple other servers. Placing any kind of generator disconnects the client with "Internal server error". I haven't seen this happen in Tekkit 3 yet... -
It hit me today. I want to know how long I've been missing out on this masterpiece but I can't find a changelog. ._.

[3.0.3/3.0.4] Sumtin wrong with teleport pipes
VideoBoy replied to Mortec's question in Tekkit Classic
I don't have an answer to your problem, but be warned, teleport tethers do not work as advertised as of Tekkit 3. Use World Anchors instead. -
I've done that before. The problem is I can't reproduce the bug at will in this case. Now it hasn't crashed in over 12 hours, and chances are it won't do it again in a few days. And when it does, it will crash 3 or 4 times in a day. I did try removing all non-essential plugins (around a quarter of those gone) and it still crashed shortly after. Because of the frequency and the timing of the crashes, I believe it could be a particular player or a particular area of the world causing the problem. Said player keeps trying to log in but gets disconnected and crashes the server, tries again in a few hours, gives up and tries again in a few days, etc. Right now I'm just hoping for other people with similar problems to show up so at least I know I'm not alone...

[SEVERE BUG] Wireless Tracker WILL CRASH SERVERS!
VideoBoy replied to VideoBoy's question in Tekkit Classic
I actually couldn't reproduce the error on a local server either. I disconnected many times and nothing. Perhaps there has to be other players online? -
[FIXED] Help! The Three Second Server Error:
VideoBoy replied to Zealapeal's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Your whole computer crashes because of Tekkit? LOL. You have much deeper problems, my friend. I doubt simply deleting a file will be a magic fix. -
So. you got yourself a tekkit server?
VideoBoy replied to RadioHasNoFuture's topic in Server Op Swap Shop
Nice set of tips! I enjoyed reading your guide. I've had a normal Bukkit server for over a year now, and a Tekkit server for almost a month, so I've already learned pretty much everything you said the hard way. I tried to put in Orebfuscator and NoCheat on my first try, haha. As far as the admin deal goes, I just get mods with /kick, /ban and /mute. It is REALLY hard to find someone you can trust with semi-full perms who won't abuse their power. Even I as owner often get huge urges to ban someone for raiding or mocking me and I don't want to put any person or my server as a whole in that situation. :P -
This is starting to worry me. At seemingly random times, my server just freezes up. Everyone gets kicked with "read time out" errors and then nobody can log in. I doubt this is a Tekkit bug, otherwise it would be all over the bugs forum, so I'm posting it here. I'm guessing it's a plugin conflicting or something. The log below mentions Ender Chests a lot so I'm guessing it has to do with that mod, but I don't wanna disable the whole mod. Again, I'm thinking it's an issue with my particular situation and not any of the mods. Maybe someone else has had a different experience? I'm running Tekkit 3.0.4 on a Slackware 13.37 machine. I actually switched to another computer (both have the same OS) after a series of short spanned freeze ups, but now they've started again. Here is a log from the latest freeze up: 2012-06-12 16:30:32 [iNFO] Read timed out 2012-06-12 16:30:32 [sEVERE] java.net.SocketException: Socket closed 2012-06-12 16:30:32 [sEVERE] at java.net.SocketOutputStream.socketWrite(Unknown Source) 2012-06-12 16:30:32 [sEVERE] at java.net.SocketOutputStream.write(Unknown Source) 2012-06-12 16:30:32 [sEVERE] at java.io.BufferedOutputStream.flushBuffer(Unknown Source) 2012-06-12 16:30:32 [sEVERE] at java.io.BufferedOutputStream.flush(Unknown Source) 2012-06-12 16:30:32 [sEVERE] at java.io.DataOutputStream.flush(Unknown Source) 2012-06-12 16:30:32 [sEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.NetworkWriterThread.run(SourceFile:103) 2012-06-12 16:30:32 [iNFO] gameloozer lost connection: disconnect.endOfStream 2012-06-12 16:30:38 [sEVERE] java.lang.NullPointerException 2012-06-12 16:30:38 [sEVERE] at codechicken.enderstorage.BlockEnderChest.blockStrength(BlockEnderChest.java:185) 2012-06-12 16:30:38 [sEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.ItemInWorldManager.c(ItemInWorldManager.java:83) 2012-06-12 16:30:38 [sEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.EntityPlayer.F_(EntityPlayer.java:144) 2012-06-12 16:30:38 [sEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.World.entityJoinedWorld(World.java:1282) 2012-06-12 16:30:38 [sEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.WorldServer.entityJoinedWorld(WorldServer.java:107) 2012-06-12 16:30:38 [sEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.World.playerJoinedWorld(World.java:1264) 2012-06-12 16:30:38 [sEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.World.tickEntities(World.java:1165) 2012-06-12 16:30:38 [sEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.w(MinecraftServer.java:547) 2012-06-12 16:30:38 [sEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.run(MinecraftServer.java:453) 2012-06-12 16:30:38 [sEVERE] at net.minecraft.server.ThreadServerApplication.run(SourceFile:492) 2012-06-12 16:30:38 [sEVERE] Unexpected exception java.lang.NullPointerException at codechicken.enderstorage.BlockEnderChest.blockStrength(BlockEnderChest.java:185) at net.minecraft.server.ItemInWorldManager.c(ItemInWorldManager.java:83) at net.minecraft.server.EntityPlayer.F_(EntityPlayer.java:144) at net.minecraft.server.World.entityJoinedWorld(World.java:1282) at net.minecraft.server.WorldServer.entityJoinedWorld(WorldServer.java:107) at net.minecraft.server.World.playerJoinedWorld(World.java:1264) at net.minecraft.server.World.tickEntities(World.java:1165) at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.w(MinecraftServer.java:547) at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.run(MinecraftServer.java:453) at net.minecraft.server.ThreadServerApplication.run(SourceFile:492) 2012-06-12 16:34:06 [iNFO] Read timed out 2012-06-12 16:35:13 [iNFO] Read timed out 2012-06-12 16:35:49 [iNFO] Read timed out 2012-06-12 16:41:03 [iNFO] Read timed out 2012-06-12 16:41:27 [iNFO] Read timed out 2012-06-12 16:45:23 [iNFO] Read timed out 2012-06-12 16:46:18 [iNFO] Read timed out 2012-06-12 16:47:05 [iNFO] Read timed out 2012-06-12 16:51:03 [iNFO] Read timed out 2012-06-12 16:55:20 [iNFO] Read timed out I can do save-all and stop once I realize what has happened, so nothing is lost, but it's still obviously a problem. On a side note, the list command from the console still shows all the players online. Now for details. I'm running the following plugins: BookWorm Campfire Chairs DisableCraft Essentials & EssentialsSpawn Factions LagMeter mChatSuite MobBounty Reloaded MobCatcher NoobKit PermissionsBukkit PickBoat SimpleTips VanishNoPacket Vault WeatherRestrictions WorldEdit (AlienX's version for Tekkit) WorldGuard (AlienX's version for Tekkit) I'm not running any custom mods besides stock Tekkit. I have removed EE and NEI and I have updated IC2 to the latest version, but that latter change was made after the crashes started happening. It should be noted that I had a similar problem with WirelessRedstone's trackers and jammers, but there are two or so threads about that in the bugs forum. I have already disabled the recipes for these items and the error log is somewhat different, but it's pretty much the same effect. Thanks in advance!

DEAR MOTHER OF GOD! This fixes explosive lasers AND nukes! Thank you SO MUCH, sir. Thank the guy who made it too, but I wouldn't have thought about checking the port central without your help. One thousand internets to you, soulgriever. I have installed it on my server and it works great! Now the server will be a safe place to all! :')
