This sounds like a server problem then. Does a vanilla server work? Mojangs servers has been down a few times last week

Does the modpack in itself work? As in, can you play singleplayer?

I find it amusing that you think I don't know about obsidian. I've played hexxit for quite some time, so I do know about TiC tools and nether ores. I was more concerned of TE and Galacticcraft's and any other unknown ores from other mods, since I haven't played any tech modpack since tekkit classic was the main tekkit. So far so good with having iron as standard then. Back to mining

Which line inside the config should I change to make tornadoes do block damage? And what blocks does it affect, everything or only blocks that has zero blast resistance?

I downloaded yesterday and it worked fine. When I visited this thread earlier today I tried and got the "problem loading page". I tried right now and it downloads like normal without issues. It may be a temporary thing, or there may be a flood of users hammering on the technic servers. Try again or try at odd hours, at times when school children are actually in school or during workdays instead of weekends.

I couldn't find a topic for this one yet. So I finally got this modpack started and running and I already seen some lovely ores and gone in a crazed ore hunt. But I would like to know what is the minimum metal pickaxe you need to mine most ores? I once (long ago, in my custom modpack) made the mistake of mining a fossil ore with a stone pickaxe and didn't get any drop. Is there a graph of some kind or is iron the standard to use? I know I could look through all the mods homepage themselves, I just wished there was something here in one single thread.

Maybe post this in Bug Tracker at Tekkit bugsection? That's where modpack bugs like yours belong so we can find the issue. Please add the error log aswell

You're using java 7u17. You should have the most updated one, java7u51. Update your old one or uninstall and get the newest. As for memory, is your OS a 64 bit? Please find out, because if it's not then you might be stuck with only 1 gig allocated to your launcher

Without an error log nobody can suggest anything. Please post the error log inside a code or quote box

Eh, I doubt it. The idea with Hexxit is not only discovering some new mods we never heard about but also using many or few stuff of those mods to achieve your raiding goals. With TC4 the thing you're gonna do is TC4. Nothing else. You might aswell play that mod alone instead of playing a pack Edit. aaand I forgot which section I was in... Don't mind me, I'm just gonna sit here in the corner and ask that lonely freak kid if he can borrow some of those crayons...
