Could be an antivirus or firewall blocking it. Disable to test, if it works re-enable and add an exception for the launcher.
-
If you are running Windows 10, try downgrading Java to 8u25 x64. You don't need to make so many forum topics, one is good (you made four)

If you run Window 10 try Java 8u25 x64. If not, pastebin logs.

You're not even using the technic launcher. What does the void wraith forum have to say?

Error downloading file for all of the technic packs and other mod packs

Could be an antivirus program blocking, disable and try again to test. If it works, re-enable and add an exception for this. -
modpack Modpack dose not Download
AetherPirate replied to Fresh_Dumbledor's question in Technic Launcher
Circlecraft.info/hosts has a growing list of places you can put your modpack.zip file. Certain criteria have to be met for file sharing sites to work with Technic. -
If you have troubles still try Java 8u25 x64.
-
Double click on the file you've downloaded and follow the prompts to install it. Btw, what operating system are you running?
-
Do you have 64 bit Java? Without it you cannot allocate more that 1GB Unless you have a very old PC, I would highly reccomend getting it. Modded Minecraft is nearly impossible with 32 bit Java http://javadl.oracle.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=207775 yes just delete dim doors mod and drop the other one in
-
Try adding the Java legacy fixer to your mods folder http://files.minecraftforge.net/LegacyJavaFixer/legacyjavafixer-1.0.jar bump up the ram to 2GB also. Consider removing dim doors. It will eventually cause you grief.

Windows 10 perhaps? try Java 8u25 x64 and see

Things to check: 1) Make sure Minecraft server really is using that port. 2) Minecraft server firewall is either off, or permitting that port to pass through. 3) Port forwarding is correct on router. Check what IP you are forwarding to, make sure it is the LAN IP of your minecraft server. If all is correct, try restarting router, restarting minecraft server. You could also try putting your minecraft server IP in your router's DMZ

There must be a crash log. Assuming you are on a Windows PC, go to c:\users\*Your_Windows_Username*\appdata\roaming\technic\*name of modpack*\crash-reports and pastebin the latest one.

Plowman is working on a list. BTW, Dropbox works fine if you follow his instructions in the link. https://www.circlecraft.info/hosts/
-
Is the Comast box the only device between your computer and the Internet? Or do you have another router in front of it?
-
Your WAN IP is the address that your Internet Provider assigns you. Go to www.whatismyipaddress.com and give that address to your friends to connect to you. Also, undo the change you made to your properties file.
-
Is your server actually running on port 25565? I know its the default, but its worth checking. Can you access the server internally, on your own LAN? If not, check your server's firewall and allow that port both in bound and outbound. Are you giving your friends the WAN IP of your router?
-
What issues did Dropbox give you? Did you exceed their bandwidth limit?

There is a youtuber called Direwolf20 who has made some excellent stuff that covers many major mods. Google for the ones that interest you.

Error creating a server of "Extended DireWolf20"
AetherPirate replied to denny994's topic in Server Op Swap Shop
Disregard my previous post... didn't realize how old this pack was. It hasn't been updated in well over a year. I would not waste my time on this. Find fresh versions of the mods you like and start a new pack, consider using the Barebones Pack to build it and test. -
Received my 2nd five star Amazon review recently, which was very encouraging. For those of you who enjoy reading Minecraft-based fiction, what do you enjoy most? What do you look for in a book in general?

My crystal ball says you probably have Windows 10, and should try either upgrading or downgrading your video drivers, or try Java 8u25 If this doesn't work, Pastebin a crashlog.
