  1. No, the whole point of RAM is that it is exceptionally fast (several million times faster than any internet connection)
  2. Are you sure it extracted from the ZIP file ok or that the download completed properly? All those "No MLProp..." should be the config files in the "config" folder. Also, it would be easier if you posted a new, clean log to somewhere like pastebin.com and linked it here, then we'd have the whole thing to look at to see if something is going on before this
  3. Well, multiple geothermal generators will obviously produce more power. You can also look at bigger storage options (MFE and MFSU) however be aware they output higher "voltage" and need to have transformers or connected machines will blow up For low/no maintainence solar and wind are they way to go, however both produce very little power unless you start getting into the compact solar arrays, at which point you need a LOT of mats to build them. Of course once you get to a HV solar array you are pretty much set for life, but a couple of MV solar arrays are achievable and will sustain you for power pretty well
  4. In the common problems sticky at the top of the forum http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/inside-havocx42-fixed-could-not-create-java-virtual-machine-issues.1541/
  5. I _think_ this is caused because of your path. Try moving your tekkit server into your C drive and not calling it new folder.
  6. I'm not sure exactly what you're asking here. Are you asking how to convert from EU power to BC power so you can teleport it... or.. something else? You can convert between EU and BC power using Power Conveters
  7. Yup, geothermals don't put out a lot of power. You'll need Batboxes every 4 or 5 blocks to keep loses to a minimum if you're using insulated copper wire
  8. The "press any key" is the last thing the launch file does. It's so when you shut down the server the window doesn't auto close. The useful errors are whatever is in the command window before that
  9. Post some pictures of your setup. The usual things could be, you're using wire with too much loss and no storage (batbox). You're only putting in one cell, cells stack, drop in a whole stack and see what happens
  10. Do you have chunk loaders/world anchors keeping the entire path loaded? Unless all the chunks are kept loaded you'll see exactly what you explain. The easier solution is to put more solar panels where you actually need them, or convert to BC power and teleport it using teleport pipes before converting it back to EU
  11. You need to give the fakeusers the mods use permissions to break blocks. Almost every thread here with quarry int he title is asking the exact same thing. The easy was is to op the [buildcraft] etc fake users. The hard way it to add them to your permissions system with only the rights they need
  12. Ok, well firstly, as far as I know no one tests tekkit single player, it's designed for SMP, so this may simply be an artifact of that. For single play you should use Technic. But... why have you got the maximum set to 4GB? You could never have 4GB free since your OS will happily chew up 1GB and anything you have running will chew up more. This seems to me like you're exhausting your RAM and windows is swapping, which would cause horrible slowness. Set tekkits RAM to 1GB and see how that goes, if you still have the problem then it's probably time to switch to Technic
  13. Is this lag coming from the server, do other users report the lag to or is it only you that's experiencing it? What about if other players follow you around until it happens? Assuming it's something on your system, and not the server, how much free or cached ram do you have available when this starts occuring (task manager, performance tab, bottom left)?
  14. I'm not sure how you would, as tekkit.jar would run the whole server, for all worlds. The best you could do is block/ban all tekkit items on all the other worlds, but even that would probably not work completly. Also a lot of mods don't support multiple worlds and as soon as you load your second world your first world can have issues (machines all face the wrong direction etc). The only possible way I can think to make it work would be to get the plugin that allows you to "portal" between servers and run multiple servers, however what the tekkit client would do if used to connect to a "normal" world I don't know
  15. Add them to a group that has the access required. Go into the worlds folder and open users.yml. Copy an existing user and edit accordingly, create and entry for each fake user
  16. You have GroupManager installed, it's a permission plugin. If you're not worried about security at all you can just op all the fake users, that'll override the permission plugin. But you'll still have to learn the permissions system anyway once you get other users
  17. You're running 32bit Java, uninstall it and install 64bit Java 7
  18. Permissions issue, the fake users don't have permissions to break blocks. DO a search for quarry and you'll find the solution 100 times over
  19. So, you have which seems pretty obvious and a search of that would lead you here, in short, upgrade to java 1.7 http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/mod_ic2advancedmachines-unsupported-major-minor-version-51-0.2324/
  20. It's not really weird, your windmills would very rarely generate more than 2EU/t, so it's all (or very nearly all) lost trying to go the distance
  21. Basically, if you install a permissions system, most of the time the default to unknown/new users having little to no rights, this means the mods that break blocks, can't. All you're doing is letting those users break blocks so while it's a heavy handed approach, it will always work. There is no reason you couldn't configure your permissions plugin to only allow them limited rights assuming the permission plugin supports the square brackets ok
  22. No idea why it's only 4 mods but that's the problem, perhaps an error downloading the others? Mine reports 39 mods. Try downloading again I guess?
  23. How are they connected? With what wire, and how much of it before it gets to the batbox? A picture would probably help us help you too but the most likely is you are using wire with too much loss and losing all the power before it gets to the batbox
  24. How did you upgrade? Is this a completely new server or did you upgrade a 3.0.4 server? From here it looks like you haven't replaced the compactsolars zip file that came with 3.1.1 and are still trying to use the one that came with 3.0.4
  25. I use the minebackup plugin, but you may want to look at how you're shutting down your tekkit server. it sounds like you're just killing it rather than typing stop into the console so it shutdown gracefully. If you do that you shouldn't ever lose any data
