It could be that you are using an older version of the technic launcher. Update it and do what Backplague said above.

It DOES have that function (F12). The only problem is, it doesn't show up. (For me at least, should be the same for anyone else I think) You could spawn a teleport tether for yourself in and use the F9 function and then if you want to do it legit, craft the anchor and place it on the exactly same place as the tether. (after removing the tether itself) That's not cheating at all, just a way to get around it until we have an anchor which does actually show something if you press F12. EDIT: Holy cow! Sorry, correction. I tried F12 again myself and it does work, but it's barely visible. You should see a bunch of particles flowing around. Everywhere where you see those particles, it will work. Damn, I didn't see those last time. Must have over looked it because it's way too subtle.

New World doesn't contain the Resources
Iscamania replied to Jake Courtney's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
That's clear to me, maybe you should actually read his post? Anyway, it could be that it seems to be running fine, while it isn't. The server will work, but the mods won't load because the folder is in the wrong place. I think this is the problem here. I don't know how much access you have on orbitblade, but if you could FTP to the server files themself then try to move the mods folder around. In my situation, I had to move the Tekkit.jar in the jar folder and everything else in the main folder. That's not a default setup, but the default setup itself doesn't work on my host. That's just the way how control panels work. They have there own methods of doing things. This is most probably also the case for your host. -
Here, this is what you should have done yourself: http://forums.technicpack.net/search/55802/?q=Forestry&t=post&o=date&g=1&c[node]=12 (Using the search funtion)

ExtraBiomesXL won't work anyway... There is no Bukkit port yet and Bukkit doesn't run vanilla server mods right off the bat. Other than that, don't ever try to change core mods like Forge. It's asking for troubles. Much troubles. It's like updating the Windows 95 kernel to the Windows 7 version, that just doesn't work. (Extreme example, I know. I like to emphasize it a bit. ) If you want it so badly, try to setup a vanilla server with that mod.

If you wish, you could still use IC2 power. Tekkit contains a mod called Power Converters. However, you'll loose power with this conversion. Simple as that, but it's possible.

In other topics I did read that the teleport tether doesn't work that good. If you gonna use a chunkloader, take the world anchor from railcraft. If you can't find it, search in NEI. Just type anchor.
-
Well. We could do that. Perhaps make it so that it show what you can update and what NOT to update (like the Forge update I mentioned, don't update your Forge on Tekkit. Only on a fresh vanilla), because otherwise you break something. Should be handy for the stupid newbies...

Server refuses to load world after crash
Iscamania replied to darzavor's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
It seems to me that you have a corrupted map. You could try to open it up in MC-Edit (after making a backup) and delete the chunks where you was busy. Minecraft will regenerate it after that. It sucks, but that's how you solve that kind of problems. -
3.0.3 Rei Minimap slime chunk problem
Iscamania replied to msknight's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
True, but not always an option. Depends on your situation. I've a train station with serveral levels underground and the platforms are very large and the ceiling very high. The station itself is gigantic. This causes the tracks to be on very low levels. I don't mind, I also protect my tunnels, so why not protect them from mobs as well with the same plugin? EDIT: It's also to be sure that almost nothing can go wrong. Most of the rail-system are high-speed rails. And you may know what happens when carts collide with something on high-speed rails, don't you? -
3.0.3 Rei Minimap slime chunk problem
Iscamania replied to msknight's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
You could use something like worldguard to setup a region where mobs aren't allowed to spawn. If you have a very long tunnel then yeah... It's fucking tedious, but worth it. I recommend installing WorldEdit CUI in your client, so you could see what you select. Especially handy if you try to select big areas. -
Dropping files in Craftbukkit.jar is a bad habit. I think that's your problem here, not sure. I let these kind of mods alone. But keep in mind that Tekkit is a heavy modded craftbukkit and chances are that you did ovewrite some of the modifications now. It may be appearing to work, but in fact it's broken under the hood. It's very tricky what you are trying to do here...

LOL. Yeah, MC-Merge is very nice. I did make a new map with 3.0.4, but I wanted the spawn area shaped like my country (see: http://deathincorporated.nl/DeathCraft/ (Somewhat outdated now, since there's changed a lot)). That's why I used this tool. I hate those cliffs. It did an almost perfect job. I had only to fix like 3 spots or so with the WorldEdit smooth brush until I was happy with it. It was like a walk in the sunny park, really so easy. After I done that I painted a plains biome on the area. That wasn't possible in 2.1.1, but now we have that privilege. I'm also gonna make a cool Nether Biome somewhere with ofcourse a portal to the real Nether. I'm going to build a nice burning wall around it like a sort of castle. I'll do this because the sky will change instantly if you step in that biome. I want to give the player the feeling he/she stepped in the garden of doom. And it is to somewhat hide the sudden change. :D

I have a little tip for conversion. First, follow the guide mentioned above and then before you use the world again, use MC-Merge to stitch the old & new worlds together. Link: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/629884-a-tool-for-merging-17181910-maps-mcmerge-v053/ Your world boder will look so much better looking after using this tool, it's unbelievable. :)

I already have the newer version which is 1.95b r2, not 1.95b r1. Downloaded it previous weekend, it has a new fix for the Cropnalyzer. There's also a fix for that in r1, but didn't work apparently. Edit: BTW, I also downloaded a new version of Forge this week to use with another client. The newest version doesn't require modloader anymore. I was more than pleased. Now you only have to install Forge and it has the HD fix in it too.

Yeah, more then enough for just 20 players. You'll be fine.

Whatever you wish.... I don't really care. I'm sorry.

3.0.3 Rei Minimap slime chunk problem
Iscamania replied to msknight's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
As far as I know, they aren't supposed to spawn on slabs themselves but on fullblocks they can and will. -
Just don't update then. The recent version works fine. Also, you don't have to change any Block Ids. I installed Forestry without editing anything except adding the Z in the name.

Nice to hear. And yeah... Grep could be picky sometimes. Depends on how you use it. -
3.0.3 Rei Minimap slime chunk problem
Iscamania replied to msknight's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
There is a wiki for that and why don't you just try some things? Isn't it that fun for you to find out for yourself? Personally, I like to find out everything myself. I search everywhere and try many things ingame. I almost don't ask anything and Minecraft is very well documented at all fronts. http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Slime Anyway, don't know about the Golum, I guess I'll try it sometime but it's not my personal main interest in the game. ;) -
I think he know that he has to install it himself, that's why he renamed his IC file.... And I already said that, about the Z. -.-

3.0.3 Rei Minimap slime chunk problem
Iscamania replied to msknight's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Finding your seed is fairly simple if you are the owner of the server. It pop-ups in the console when you start the server. It goes fast, but it'll also be in the server.log file. You've to read many lines to find it, but it's there. -
Which mod? CC has an API for it: http://computercraft.info/wiki/index.php?title=Color_(API) EDIT: Whoops, that outputs only the binary data. Derp... XD Anyway, @ any Moderator: I just received an update message. Is there really an update? I like to know that before I apply it, because I've to reinstall some things then. I can remember that not long ago back in 2.1.1 I had also an update message which didn't do anything except actually reinstalling Tekkit and it's settings. I don't want that happening again for no reason.
